Im an old hearthstone player that uses two accounts. On my main i pre-purchased the WOTLK bundle ( 50 cards ) + 14 more from 1400 saved gold, and got horrible results : 64 cards and only 3 legendaries.
3 days ago, i started opening some packs on my old hs account that i rarely, barely play. Had 470 gold and 3 kotft packs. Played my missions + solo adventure and managed to gather 12 KOTFT cards. Are you ready for this? Got 4 legendaries ( one from solo adventure ) and golden rexxar dk!
My guess is that newer expansions have during the launch period much lower rarity chances than old ones. All my friends think the same way, what do you think?
you get a guaranteed legendary in your first 10 packs of each set. maybe that had an influence here?
I forgot about this change. But still, we talk about golden cards, epics and aditional rares here. Since the release of KFTFT they are much lower during the launch. Of course they will deny this, its about marketing and image. But from experience, im asking if someone else noticed this rarity change during a new release
The numbers you're providing are too low to be considered a valid statistic sample. It's just luck/unluck what you had find, nothing more and nothing less.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
Of course im not making a statistic. But based on my overall hearthstone experience ( i play since closed beta ), my friends and reading blizzard forums, i can say that they made radical changes to card rarity several times; last and most harsh change was during the release of KoTFT
I think its a new strategy to lower slightly the card quality during a hot launch, so people will still need to grind/ pay to have a decent set. If in GvG expansion 120 packs got you altmost full set, now 120 packs cant do that anymore, expecially when it comes to the epics, golden or legendaries. This is my point
There has been no change other than the "guaranteed legendary in the first 10 packs" rule. Anything you're experiencing is solely your perception. If you had the money to buy 50,000 packs you would find the statistical distribution to be normalized as you'd expect.
