i enjoyed naxx meta, we had zoo, midrange hunter, control warrior, handlock, miracle rogue, control priest, combo druid, freeze mage, pick your favourite. also LoE was nice, many reno decks(i remember playing reno warrior), handlock, good times
Pre TGT, favorite match up is Classic Priest VS Control Warrior! Best time ever, playing against CW was like facing the final Boss, the match is intense, where every moves count and every removal makes a difference.
Not sure why people like Old Gods so much. Paladin and Priest ended by being dead classes after a month, there was a huge emphasis on curvestone decks and Yogg was cancer in the pro scene. Old Gods was another GVG that catered to RNG and the casual players :(
Meanwhile during the BRM/TGT meta shaman was a dead class and,,.. no, let's face it, the tournament scene was literally Patron, Handlock, Druid. That's it. Anything else in the meta existed because most people couldn't control patron well enough. The better you were, the less deck diversity you had. Note that the BRM meta was really in the same boat as pre-naxx: it was more varied only because we didn't know how to perfect it, not because it was naturally varied.
And I think that's where we get to 'what do you deem as enjoyable'. The Patron era was the 'chess' style of meta where the setup was always the same but there was much to decide on during the game. Folks who prefer the Old Gods meta want a more varied "deck building" focused meta game where what deck you crafted/chose wasn't instantly figured out.
By how it seems, dropping the early metas that were onnly really good because we were all newbies, it seems the best periods of HS were the Patron meta and the Old Gods meta, depending on your preferences.
