Not a bug, I also like to piss off paladins with stormwind champion, same effect.
It's basic math really, they get 1 hp from equality plus 1 hp from blood imp/stormwind champion witch equals 2. I know, crazy.
Grandfathered health points are always consumed first in a damage event. If a persistent effect granting bonus health expires during the same event that causes global damage, then the damage happens first before the new health calculation.

Okay that makes sense I guess...I didn't have conc in hand at the time though and hadn't thought about it before.
Also, myrec, one does not simply kill blood imps with minions.

Yeah, it makes sense once you think about it. There are a few more things like this that work differently from what you thought.
