I mean, if you wanna play Rainbow Mage just play standard version without excavate like guy above said. One thing tho Rainbow Mage is not PURE OTK deck like Freeze Mage back in the day. You actually win a lot games with Sif but also you win a lot of games by value and especially Elemental Inspiration. It's more about learning matchups and adapting in each game to understand what is your win condition.
For example: Vs Pure Paladin you will die before you will ever get to your 8 School spells and combo so it's way better to use ur cheap spells to clear and control the board as much as you can. (Little extra: sometimes one good reverb on buffed Paladin minion can insta win you a game)

This is a classic combo-deck. You dont wanna play for value, you just wanna get your combo-pieces as soon as possible.
