In the past, I remembered somebody from Blizzard mentioning that they would utilise the Tavern Brawl to test out certain mechanics.
With the release of today's tavern brawl, whereby the state of your board (what minions get what buffs and such) is determined by the "spell' that you choose at the start, I'm kind of convinced that Blizzard could be veering into that direction for the next expansion.
Of course, if this was one-off, it would be alright, but other than today's tavern brawl though, the cards that are tied to the future Deal Your Fate tavern brawl seems to suggest spells that affect the state of your board as well.
Any thoughts? Or perhaps I'm just looking in too deep into this.
The main problem with Mistcaller was that it had poor stats for it's cost. :/ The tempo loss from playing with those stats just couldn't be regained by the tempo generated from each card having an additonal +1/+1...
Was thinking more of spells that affect the entire game state instead of just a minion effect. Something like a 2-mana spell of "All Murlocs gain +1/+1" until another type of board spell is played? That could be OP, but it's just an example.
I think we'll see "Aura" cards, sort of similar to how Yu-Gi-Oh did things, where you get like constant environmental cards that provide general buffs to certain card types (i.e. Toon Town - http://yugico.com/customcard/260907.jpg)
So an example would be:
"2 cost card - AURA - your Beast cards gain +1 +1"
The counter could be that another person's aura card overwrites your own, so there can only be 1 aura available at once (however this seems unlikely given that the Brawl was at pains to point out that the aura only affected your minions).

That was something that I had in mind haha. There's still 1 more Tavern Brawl with the Fates, so perhaps they could be saving the entire-board Aura spells for that instead? We'll know more when that comes out lol.
Blizzard have probably done the biggest parts of the next expasion, so I would argue that if this Brawl is to test this new mechanic for an upcoming expasion, it probably won't be for the next one.
Not necessarily true. The Tavern Brawl which was supposed to exhibit the Discover mechanic was supposed to be released a few weeks before the LoE Announcement at Blizzcon, but due to bugs, they pushed it back.
I'll love to see more cards that requires certain pieces...like the mech (forgot his name) that summons a super OP mech if there are at least 3 mechs in your side. Some sort of Exodia in Yugi
I would love this but I can see it being very powerful, hopefully not just a buff to current decks. I thinks this should be blizzards biggest priority. Make new decks, don't just keep buffing the top tiers.

I wouldn't mind them extending the discover card collection. I really like this mechanic, it brings so much flexibility in decks. Other than that since some of you pointed some Yu Gi Oh mechanics, I would really like to see cards like minion of type beast dies, deathrattle - pick a beast for X mana cost, I remember ygo had this type of cards which give you an option to choose an element card.
Also I don't know how viable is to give traps to all the classes and make some of them to be reactive, like Snipe or Sacred Trial. One of the fun things of Yugi was the wide range of traps they had. Mirror Force was so epic :P
