As a new player, does it make sense to try and climb ladder a little later in the month? Assuming most people that were legendary last month get off to a quick start, is there any logic in waiting until most people have already hit legendary for a less frustrating climb? I play facehunter on stream (I know I'm cancer but that's all I have the cards for for now!), and last month was great for me, hit 6 in a week having just started playing hearthstone, this month I'm losing much more and it looks bad when I lose all the time. New deck time, I know, but still, is what I'm suggesting making any sense?
Depends! I would go for it right now, I mean you have nothing to lose really and you can come closer to golden heroes. At least that´s what I am doing.
The rule of thumb is to get to rank 5 before day 15 because time to reach rank 5 and time to reach legend from rank is about the same.
Generally speaking, it's easy to climb later in the month but you don't want to start too late because of time limitation. Also, lower rank of the ladder is like 50% Face Hunter meta by the end of the month.
For sure it's wayyyy easier to ladder late in the month. First few days are just crazy, you see legend card backs regularly at the lowest ranks. Last month I didn't try to ladder until the last day because I was playing around with BRM cards in casual. I had matches at rank 10 where my opponent tried to attack around taunt...

So you hit 6 in a week? took me a couple months to get there. I guess facehunter gets you anywhere, kudos.
In the first season I tried climbing ladder for real, Face Hunter took me to rank 5 in just under 10 hours from rank 20.

The later in the month, the easier it gets.

Meta changes the moment you switch your deck.
