I'm really hoping this next expansion really directs users away from playing decks like odd paladin and odd rogue. Especially in the case of odd paladin and even paladin before the nerfs. I'm not sure any of the developers knew how bad odd paladin would be for the game but in my opinion its the type of deck that almost seems to be a deck that uses a handicap against other well thought out decks and for me just makes hearthstone not very appealing anymore. I was really hoping they would change the hero power to summoning a 2/2 recruit to match all the other hero powers that double their effects but i think the two bodies is very OP. Another thing with the concept of odd and even aggro decks is that the bulk of the deck consists of neutral cards and the only real reason they are playing the deck is for the hero power. I find it funny that of all the classes that got even or odd deck specific cards paladin and rogue never got one. I think a nerf is going to be necessary for paladin again but this time on the effect of the odd hero power. now 3 months ago you would have heard me ranting about the spiteful decks and cubelock/control lock like everyone else. But it's very clear that every time the developers make changes to try and make all the decks more balanced they forget about a few or maybe they just dont expect them to be that good. You can call it a changing meta, thats fine, and i actually enjoy the diversity of some of the decks i'm seeing and playing. But in the end a class like paladin should be and has the cards to be more versatile than just being odd aggro.
I completely agree. Rogue and Paladin are my two favourite classes and they are both Tier 1 now with decks that I really don't like to play. I loved the times when N'Zoth Paladin was Tier 2 and when miracle rogue was not just an aggressive tempo deck with hand refill.
The legendary spell for Paladin might be a thing to bring a late game oriented value deck for Paladin and the gang-up guy might bring a smart rogue deck back - let's see :)
When Baku was first announced and upgraded hero pwr was still unknown the possibilities were intriguing, what could they think of? What interesting HP could it be....then blizz dev team says RIP Justicar Trueheart; we hardly knew ye.
No coding needed, plug and play 1/2 your cards are gone!
Remember the last Ctrl pally card printed? Enter the Coliseum ? (I guess uther) ...instead Pally randomly became a murloc/aggro class.
phew sorry for the rant...I miss ctrl pally and when a board clear actually meant something.
