Everyone knows rank 5-Legend is just not a fun experience for the vast majority of players, myself included. I reach rank 5 every season and just stop because there is little incentive to go forward and grind 200-300 games for 10 dust at each rank, then a digital card back. While it would be nice to get the card back, as I've been playing since Nax, I just don't have that kind of time playing after work and on weekends. Here are a few suggestions for the devs to make rank 5 to legend less grindy:
1) Include win streaks like the rest of the ladder.
2) If no win streaks, then at least give more rewards for each rank. Why not twice the rewards for having to work twice as hard?
3) Award more than just a legendary card back for reaching legend. After reaching legend, what incentive is there to reach it again and again?
4) This one is kind of radical, but would be cool - if you couldn't lose ranks past 5 AND 3, since there are no win streaks. Honestly this morning was depressing when I played 15 games for 2 hours from rank 5 to 3 only to be set allllllll the way back by 1 lose streak.
5) A different card back for those who reach rank 5. Why should everyone get the same card back (except legend players). Even if not a different card back every season, at least 1 card back for reaching rank 5 like they have with legend. Apparently only like 5% of players reach rank 5, so why not let them show off a little bit? Instead, only 0.2% of HS players get that privilege and the other 99.8% get the same back which literally takes an hour to achieve for most.
Basically my point is there needs to be ladder changes, especially 5 to legend. It's just not fun right now due to lack of incentive. I know Blizz is a small indie company with a tight budget and that these changes, like adding a digital, aesthetic, reward like a card back would cost them MILLIONS in losses, but it would be nice.
Well legend is the reward for being willing to go through that grind. I don't see any reason to make the grind easier, the fact that it's boring and takes it forever is what makes for the challenge.
