Blizz seems to be pushing highlander decks with the new Warlock, Mage, and Priest legendaries, but the thing is, unlike the Jade Lotus and Grimy Goons, they didn't include any cards for highlander decks other than the legendaries. If they really wanted highlander decks to come into the meta, they'd include more, lower-rarity cards with the "no duplicates" text, perhaps like these:
(Forgot to put Battlecry on some and the logo on others - sorry, kinda off today.) What do you think? Would these cards help the proposed highlander meta?
I don't know if they will ever push that kind of cards, mainly because they said a little while ago that support for highlander decks wasn't planned at the time.
Also with so many cards it would be kind of an overkill for the community that don't like those decks, I think they are more prompt to make something as a "Highlander Brann" than specific low rarity cards.
Also they have the "At the start of the game" mechanic to add some flavor in the future and avoid Highlander decks with duplicates as some part of the community would like.
The ideas are interesting but people already complain about "a couple of playable cards" echo expansion, this would only exacerbate that.
My guess is that they will come with some other mechanic to promote unique deckbuilding and let Highlander decks settle for now, maybe something in the lines of "no minions below 3 mana" or "no legendaries" would give us more archetypes in the future and bring new archetypes just as Reno did with LoE.
