Hey guys,
since my ladder experience was more than 50% Jade Golem Druid and Pirate Warrior i was looking for a deck that is able to beet them. I tagged this Patron Deck a little bit by including 2 Bloodhoof Braves, 2 Armorsmiths, a Fierce Monkey and 2 Wild Pyromancers to fuck up every aggro Deck. So far it worked pretty well with more than 70% winrate. It's one of the most satisfying moments of Hearthstone when a Pirate Warrior concedes because you gained infinite amounts of armor with armorsmiths and taunts or when you see a druid struggles removing a patron board!
One of the biggest advantages of this deck is that your opponents won't mulligan vs. a Patron Warrior because it's so uncommon at the moment. You will also see renolocks or other control decks using their valuable aoes for nothing, cause they don't expect a wave of Patrons coming from nowhere. Another trick is to greet your opponent at the start of the game, then he will be sure you are a Pirate Warrior! ;)
Here are my stats after 35 games that i played this deck so far:
This deck doesn't have a really high power level in general! It is good in a certain Meta of Pirate Warriors and Jade Golem Druids. I'm sure this deck won't help you climbing the ladder in a controll Meta (especially vs Priests).
Mulligan:
The faster your opponents deck is the more you play a defensive, controling style. In this case you mulligan for Fiery War Axe, Acolyte Of Pain, Armorsmith, Ravaging Ghoul and Fierce Monkey. If you are on the coin, Blood To Ichor can be really nice to answer your opponents 1-drops and Wild Pyromancer is also a concidered keep. Bloodhoof Brave should only be kept if you already have something to play before. E.g your starting hand is a Fiery War Axe, an Armorsmith, a Frothing Berserker and a Bloodhoof Brave. Frothing Berserker is one of the best 3-drops in the game and can often win a game single-handedly, so you always keep it vs slower matchups. You can even concider keeping it vs aggro since it's impossible to outrace a Frothing Berserker.
When you play against slower decks, you can afford some greedy keeps in the mulligan. For example you keep Grim Patron vs Druid if the rest of your starting hand is ok.
am i missing something or why does this deck has "MSOG" in title when it doesnt run single MSOG card?
Oh hey, same deck I was running. +1
What did you use to record those results?
Been playing this deck alot, so much fun actually. This deck absolutely crushes aggro, not so much against reno-control decks tho.
"Another trick is to greet your opponent at the start of the game, then he will be sure you are a Pirate Warrior! ;)" as soon as i read this i gave a +1 :D
Remove monkey and bloodhoofs, add death bites, loatheb and blood warriors - and you can start getting fun in wild, lol.
Anyway, why not blood warriors instead of monkey or 1 bloodhoof? It can add at least 1 spare berserker/patron/grommash or all of them at once. Could save late game, when control freaks have 2-3 hard removals at hand.
After getting beaten by pirate Decks I switched over to this, only to queue up against control/Reno Decks, fuck me right? rigged Matchmaking
I looked at the deck and i have yet to see how this deck beats Renolock; or priest for that matter lol
It works for the first patron, but unfortunately the card says; Whenever this minion survives damage summon another Grim Patron. So all Patrons you summon out of said card are normal 3/3.
You're looking for dopplegangster my friend.;p
A bit of clickbait for that title D:
Before this Deck. nothing but Pirates! as soon as I start using this deck. its nothing but control warrior and Priest.... Hate the meta sometimes.
That is because the engine that pairs you up with your opponent is a piece of crap. I was playing Jade Druid earlier and was paired up against nothing but aggro pIrates and so I switched to a new Taunt/Control Warrior setup and then got paired off against nothing but Reno Priests and Jade Druids which absolutely destroy that deck. Seriously, fuck this game sometimes lol... still fun though :P
I thought I was the only one that this matchmaking crap happens too.
is working a treat, just went from rank 25 to 20 no problem
Thou your title is misleading, 0 MSOG cards
why not use some boost cards too boost the main Grim Patron to have it at more then 3 hp and make more of them? Like that card that gives you +2/+2 at the end of your turn or the legendary? it's also good with charge minions like Grommash Hellscream.
I haven't played a lot since the new expansions so I don't really know whats happening on ladder right now :p np!
write mulligan guide and upload your stats plz :)
