I have this card in golden, I love the theme of it but it's just completely unplayable.
I wish they had a look at quest cards like this when they did the Wild buffs earlier this year.
At least make the portal card cost 0 mana. It still wouldn't be a great card, as it is a quest in an Aggro archetype (sacrificing 1 card and 1 turn as Aggro is the last thing you want to do)
But at least it would be playable if you wanted it too. Like how some Murloc Shaman players use the quest. The winrate is higher WITHOUT the quest, but some just enjoy playing with it.
In it's current state the card is complete and utter trash, 5 mana to take up 3 spots on the board with 3/2s is often worse for you than it is for your opponent. On top of that you can easily end up discarding the reward as it's meant to be played in a deck built around discard mechanics. They should just make the card put the portal on the board after you complete the quest or discard it. Honestly you'd probably be better off discarding it than actually playing it.
Discardlock is finally a Tier 1 deck... and most lists don't run this card anyway. It's safe to say that this was the single biggest failure of evaluation in Hearthpwn history — far bigger than even Dr. Boom vs. Troggzor the Earthinator.
To anyone who thinks discardlock is viable with the latest expansion and considers crafting this: Don't do it!
Even if you can put it in a viable deck, the effect is just not nearly as good as you'd expect. It's too slow vs aggro decks, and kind of irrelevant vs control decks.
Your time has come.
There should be a change in the Quest, should be discard 5 cards instead to make it Standard Viable... Up vote for the movement! gogogo!

The worst legendary in the game...other than manastorm

Everyone thought this card would be incredible and OP. Instead it is hot trash. Just unpacked a golden version of it.... Even with every discard legend this will never be good. The Imps are incredibly underwhelming and spending mana on the reward makes you lose all that tempo you discarded everything for.
I have been saving mine for months now. With the sad hope that it will be useful someday
I hope so but it is unlikely. The reward for the quest costs way too much to ever be good. This card was pretty much designed to suck.
"whenever you discard a card, shuffle it into your deck instead. quest: discard 6 cards, reward: nether portal"
no
LMAO this card is so bad I played against a Warlock who had this quest and he played that card that every time it takes damage discard a card, and I discarded his whole hand and he completed the quest.
Then i attacked the minion that discards a card and he was had to discard the quest reward card.
We both said well played and he conceded.
Lol too funny.
I want everyone to remember that people thought this would be Overpowered as hell, and that they also thought that the Rogue quest would be useless.
