Pitiful job of balancing this. I encountered it with a very strong armor druid (Gonk's Armament) around boss 7. I had no chance because he had taunts to protect the shrine, and kept flooding his board with minions during his turn by attacking me and killing his minions that would then spawn 3 more. Once he got out an obsidian statue, it's basically game over; when you kill the taunt to get at the totem, it destroys *3* of your minions. Combine with duplication effects so that he can generate a 1/1 taunt that wipes half your board when you kill it (and/or a Sylvanas +/- 1/1 clones that will control 3 at a time) and I thought it was ridiculously OP. But it looked fun, so I decided to try it myself. I've now attemped at least a dozen runs and most of them I died on turn *2* because there are no early taunts available, and the only one I've seen at all is the tortollan shellcaller (4 mana) which you have to be very lucky to get out before they destroy your weak ass 0/3 shrine. In the rare case that they can't take your shrine out before you take out theirs or get the shellcaller to protect it, it's still nearly impossible to keep the shrine alive for more than your own turn.
It's a fun idea that I wanted to play, but they haven't actually made it playable. However strong it is at higher levels, it's unwinnable at the lower ones. The overloading shaman totem especially will crush this; there is literally no way to win in the several encounters I've had. Also, the deathrattle buckets that go with it rely heavily on random effects rather than some strategic way of using deathrattles. It's all very frustrating. It seems like they didn't do any sensitivity analysis to see how extremely sensitive some of these builts are to, say, the pretense of a 1 mana card in the opponent's starting hand. (I think I've yet to win a match in which the AI was able to play a card before me, or we both played on turn 1).
Oh baby, a triple!
