Wild Summit at Blizzard about Wild Format Balance - Balance Changes Soon?
Blizzard through Dev Matt London has announced that they held a summit to discuss the situation in Wild. Read the details below!
Quote from BlizzardHi All! Recently we've seen a lot of passionate conversation regarding the Hearthstone Wild format. Thank you for that. Today, we kicked off a "Wild Summit," a big internal discussion about the state of the format and how we can bring you the best possible experience.
Quote from BlizzardWild has a lot of moving parts. It's unlikely adjustments will happen this week, but we're committed to building a great plan for Wild and sharing more info once we do. Thanks!
So they could have like a forum right. And they could post on the forum "We're thinking about releasing this card!"
When 10 minutes later someone posts "Great turn 3 Wild OTK!" they can go "Ok, we're not going to release that card" and then DON'T.
Then they don't even have to do the thinking, even though that's literally the job they're being paid for.
True story, man. Just try to get above your precious Gold rank.
just ban some powerful cards every month, for example, the next month cards like shuderwock, neptulon, mage quest etc cannot be played till the next season, and so, in wild there are a lot of possible decks but mostly of people sits on 4 or 5 decks, i would like to see a wild format with a high variety games
Most players can only afford 4-5 decks to be honest.
Plus some players can't get over indirect nerfs like when Leper Gnome got nerfed and they didn't refund Mekgineer Thermaplugg. Nerfing cards that define whole decks would make a ton of backlash.
*Meant to say banning, not nerfing*
HAHAHAHAA. Paid attention for the past few years?
Diablo 4 will be 'fun'.
Oh lordy, how I wish we could get past this regressive "...if they are fixing and adjusting wild, its not wild anymore!" and "...I don't think they will or should do any major balance changes for Wild!" comments.
The facts of the matter are that they've made balance changes for Wild specifically before. They will do it again. If there are enough folks that play this format (which I count myself among that population), then it's OK to dedicate time to discussing the topic and making those changes. The venn diagram of "wild purists" and "wild isn't a format anyone / I play" is higher than reality would allow.
I'm not huge on following YT'ers, but Zeddy had a great short video about a few nerfs that would HUGELY benefit the format on key decks. I say bring it.
Yeah, the retards that introduced turn 2 Thaddius in standard are gonna balance wild...
They will think of an idea to implement a wild for wild format, as much as what wild was for year of the raven.
I don't think they will or should do any major balance changes for Wild, it's enough to nerf the most degenerate combos which they have done in the past.
What I think would be cool is to revisit old states of the game, but with new balance changes, since as you may remember Blizzard pretty much never did balance patches for many years, instead relying on new cards to counter the old. For example what would TGT look like if Secret Paladin wasn't so grossly overpowered, I think stuff like that could be cool.
if they are "fixing" and "adjusting" wild, its not wild anymore, but standard with more cards. not saying its good or bad, just stating the obvious.
Best not to get too excited as of yet, but the fact they are at least acknowledging the problem (to a certain extent) and keeping us informed on the matter is hopeful and can give us some ease of mind.
It feels good when you're not screaming into the void...
Come on, Blizz. Don't let us down. ❤️
What's the problem with wild? I mostly play wild because I like the degenerate decks I encounter there.
I feel like I play against the same decks over and over in standard, and it gets dull.
What? Wild is only pirate rogue, big priest, pirate rogue .. people just don't have the capacity to build a single fun deck, it's just copy paste the most toxic deck and win.
Not true, a lot of fun and different meme decks in EU region 😂
I‘m playing fundecks from time to time and winning sometimes more games than with top tier decks. Most people just know how to react to top tiers. If you play a fundeck with unexpected cards many opponents are totally confused.
I‘m sure it‘s a little bit different in legend ranks though.
