Quote from arneankann >>Quote from arneankann >>Nah deleting this game now. I don't remember the last time the game was fun. The designers since Ben Brode left are so incompetent.
Doubt you actually delete it... See you again tomorrow friend
I did delete it, but 4 days later I am here, installing it again... Ben Brode and his team made me addicted, living on hope that it will become fun again I guess..
You're not addicted to Hearthstone specifically.
You're addicted to the gambling mechanics that are used in this game (for very different reasons).
That's why it's so hard to stop.
That's why so many people get super defensive as soon as you criticize this game.
It's textbook addict behavior.
What do sites like VS Syndicate, HSReplay etc. actually do?
The don't show you what deck is the best.
They show you what deck has the best chance of winning.
It's the equivalent of card counting.
Probability calculation is by far the most valuable skill you can have in this game nowadays.
That alone should raise eyebrows but hey, it's just a "children's card game" right?
Hearthstone is a gambling simulator and people who are already addicted to it should never ever try real gambling because they'd get hooked INSTANTLY.
Same goes for Battlegrounds. Blizzard uses gambling mechanics in every game they can. Quality gameplay has no priority anymore. It used to be the most important factor to make money in this industry but those days are gone forever.

Its all fucking aggro demon hunter.
Cant play the game at all.

I think it was already at an irreparable state before this expansion... the last couple have been broken messes... this one is just all of that turned up to 11, and the devs clearly don't care, because SOMEONE is still throwing down money for this crap.
I've entirely given up on Standard... I only play Wild now... at least the clown show decks there have been there forever, and there's far more variety in them.
I still play for the daily quests and such, but I have no interest at all in climbing ladder,

In my opinion, HS has been going downhill at light speed for a while now.
I think Blizzard has finally created a state where the game is basically unfixable. There are way too many fundamental problems with the game at this point. We would need straight up card changes on a scale which has never been seen to get remotely back to older Hearthstone.
Personally I've quit altogether. (I was on my last leg when the mini set came out)
With that said, I still like to keep up with the news and see what the community is up to.
I'm just curious where others are at. Has this been the final nail in the coffin for many of you like it has been me? Do you think Hearthstone has hit an irrepairable state? Are you playing significantly less? Maybe you still enjoy it?

It's completely retarded - everything is OTK from hand. Why even bother playing - just roll a dice at the start of the match, and whoever rolls higher - wins.
4
100% - Hearthstone is and has been broken for years now. It's just some sort of bad mobile Casio game wannabe.
The whole point for creating a deck died when discover was introduced which was a big draw for anyone 'liking' the game in the first place.
Another fun aspect was creating homebrew decks that could compete. That died when Blizzard were making pre-built synergy cards that released with every set literally killing any form of player innovation or uniqueness in the game.
Balancing rules such as restricting legendaries to 1 per deck died once they infested the game with discover and other forms of rng which let you have multiple copies of cards with the most powerful effects. Cool right??. No it's not. They should know that if everything is powerful everywhere, all the time...then nothing is.
This stuff could have actually been fixed and balanced years ago, but Blizzard never cared about balance, fun, or game integrity. They only cared about what broken busted stuff they could print every 3 months to generate cheap buzz to sell packs with a plan to nerf it all post purchase.
Now due to the prepackaged 'win' conditions they print each set, everyone is forced to play net decks which beyond being godawfully boring, stale, and repetitive...also makes 90% of the other cards completely useless each expansion. Remember when murlocs were ruining the metas?
As a result, Hearthstone is now so terrible, soulless, unenjoyable, and imbalanced as a strategy card game that there is only one solution....
"Nuke it from orbit"

The game is simply broken.
This is what happens when you take the strategy out of a strategy game and let rng rule instead.
And everyone who demanded to get rid of archetype strengths and weaknesses back then is directly responsible for the current state of HS.
HS would look a lot different today if all those people who didn't know shit about card game design would've just shut up instead of harassing the devs non-stop on twitter and making all these crazy demands that were purely based on negative biases and emotions instead of factual knowledge.

This game is becoming dead to me as it no longer encourages the type of games I enjoy. I didn't even play enough last month to reach Diamond 5 (which is very unusual for me). So many occassions I would log on, face some degenrate deck (typically paladin this month) or OTK, lose and close Hearthstone.
I'm not interested in vomiting my hand onto the board to kill the opponent by turn 5. I'm not interested in playing OTK from hand. I never play the obviously OP flavour of the month deck. I detest the fascination Blizzard has with mana cheat, excessive cheap draw, discover everything and "build a board every turn" gameplay. I hate that they've designed cards which (depending on your oponent) just wont work (highlander). I hate the "inevitable uninteractive death" cards - plagues and wheel (and curses before that). There doesn't need to be (and never can be) parity between the classes, but they should all be viable, but some classes get to do everything while others get shafted.
In the past it's been possible to get to legend playing your own homebrew decks. Not anymore. The power level of the OP decks is so high that you absolubelty need completely refined decks to stand a chance. Most non-warrior control decks just arent viable any more, as you instantly lose against the many OTK decks that are out there. Many of those decks don't even play like a combo deck - they're a tempo deck with an OTK (or huge burst) tacked on the top. Its just not fun (for me) to play any more.
The move towards OTK from hand (which definirtely seems deliberate) seems like an odd design direction to take knowing the limited interaction that's possible with the opponents hand. The disruption cards available are often high risk - high reward (which (imo) is a poor design angle for any game - if you're lucky you get a chance to win, if not - lose. ), or have limited to no utility outside of their specific match up (which means you can't include them in your deck unless you want to lose more often against every other deck).
This isn't a sympathy post (or anything of the sort) - just my opinion on the state of the game. I'm sure some people will share it while others will vehemently disagree or tell me I should "kill them before yada yada..." In the past people have said I must love "bumping yetis" - so there's that angle too!

Pally beats everything, so maybe start there.

In music, one doesn’t make the end of the composition, the point of the composition. If that were so, the best conductors would be those who played fastest, and there would be composers who wrote only finales. People would go to concerts just to hear one crashing chord—because that’s the end! -Alan Watts
Thats what Hearthstone is becoming these days, one crashing chord. Draw your entire deck, mana cheat your entire hand, and go face or easily reach overpowered win condition (with long animations so its actually kinda hard to pull off sometimes, yeah hearthstone is becoming an apm game). And whats up for the future? They do like their power creep don't they? Making decks that end the game in turn 3-5 instead of turn 6-9?
I don't like the state of the game right now, not sure if its the worst ever but its pretty bad. I don't like quest cards because they feel very single player like to either play against or to play yourself.
2
I agree with the OP, lets wait a bit. There is a deeper issue though.
The powercreep is going in a direction where the game will be too fast, control decks are not a thing anymore already. They can make the meta slower by nerfing everything. They can also give control more tools to survive against OTK so they are not completely helpless.

I don't get the Kangor nerf.

Still no fix for the lag (in battlegrounds).

That but not even playing remotely enough to go to rank 5. Just doing my quests and playing as few games as possible. For the false hope this game will become better one day and when that happens still having a collection to play this game. And because there is just no games at all on the market that i like, because it would be easier to stop playing this game if there are plenty of other good games.

EU down?

I don't like that card but if you remove it mages are left with no good decks anymore.
1
Its really hard.
Maybe to finish a heroic is not so hard but to finish it with all classes is near impossible.

Just quit, just do it.
