posted a message on Do you consider this BM?

I don't think it's BM if lethal is on the board and your opponent is free to concede.  It's slightly more BM if you are simply screwing around and wasting an entire turn until rope before producing your lethal which forces the opponent to wait it out.  Still not the end of the world, but not really a very polite thing to do.  If you're working on finishing a quest, drop the cards fast and get it over with.  I don't have any beef when opponents do that.

I don’t really care if the cards are balanced or not since it’s pretend time, but as a Diablo fan I look forward to seeing your other class sets.

Tarim is a pretty important win condition, especially against match-ups that run big taunts.

Hmm...so 3/5 decks HSreplay lists as tier 1.  Not exactly a lot of research required for this.

Hearthstone has an economy problem. But it isn't with ftp players, it takes care of them well. Quite simply, paying doesn't do as much as it should.

If I am smart and save 7000 gold, I get to open 70 packs. I'll have almost all the commons, most of the rares, a decent chunk of the epics, and a few legendaries.

If I didn't save quite so hard because I knew I'd be paying, maybe I open 50 packs from gold. And, let's say I'm a whale, so I buy the 50 pack preorder, and then another 60 paid. 160 packs gets me all the commons, most (but probably not all) the rares, maybe 15-20 epics, and like...8 legendaries.  The odds of those few extra legendaries and epics being the ones I actually wanted are slim anyway. So usually, purchasing packs leaves you with a down feeling.

It's odd, but hearthstones real problem is there isn't enough value in paying. Paying $300 a year should get you almost all the cards, while paying $150 a year should get you enough for the semi hardcore player. As it is you're almost better going free to play. The value is just so low after the first 50 packs or so, because everything you open is a duplicate that is worth 1/4 or 1/8 what it was in the first few packs.

This is a pretty interesting point that I hadn't thought too much about.  My guess is that making the no duplicate legendary change (way overdue) was partially towards addressing this problem of diminishing returns.  I only do the pre-order plus any 50% off bundles (i.e., lunar bundle).  I enjoy opening the packs and the excitement of getting your first few legendaries.  That excitement fades pretty fast after release day.

I highly doubt this has much to do with how HS is performing, don't forget that Activision just recently lost one of it's largest IPs in Destiny, to which it probably had a large amount of employees dedicated to supporting. Of all of Blizzard's titles that could possibly be in the crosshairs, I'd say HOTS has the most to worry about.  A MOBA without a supported esports scene seems irrelevant.

I honestly love playing against Big Priest, deck is so hit or miss.  Everyone remembers the Barnes into Y'Shaarj on turns 3/4, but forgets about the hilarious Shadow Essence into Barnes on turn 6 followed by them conceding.   There are way tougher match-ups on the ladder right now (like Renolock and Cubelock) that have insane power level and take 20+ minutes win or lose.  Bring on the Big Priest!

No, I don't beleive it. You have to  a big Priest player. Your examples explain precisely why the deck is so ridiculous. Winning against a Priest that just sits there and does nothing isn't fun, just like losing to a priest that starts cheating out big minions from turn four onwards isn't fun. It's barely even a game at all.

Believe what you want.  I played mostly odd warrior and zero big priest this month.  Winning is fun, I don't care if they sit there and do nothing, especially when I get to mill their deck with coldlights.

posted a message on How to beat Big Priest

I played a lot of odd warrior this season in rank 5-L, big priest is one of my easiest matchups. Do you run coldlight oracle x2? You should always be mulliganning for these guys against Priest as they allow you to burn both their big minions as well as their Rez spells which severely limits their recovery. Also keep shield slam and death lord. Deathlord is there for maximizing the number of things you pull out of their deck before a clear. Remember shadow essence becomes a dead draw once they’ve drawn all their minions and you really don’t care about pulling more big guys once you’ve passed turn 5 and have a clear (preferably 2) in hand.

Use early turns to build up as much armor as needed to slam any threats. You should be running 2x reckless fury and brawl so 4 mostly full clears. Combined with shield slam to kill any big single Rez threats like rag or lich king (ignore obsidian usually). Make sure you have one clear in reserve for each spellstone (and mind the shadow visions).

My guess is the biggest mistake odd warrior players are making if they’re struggling against big priest is panicking and using their clears too early. Take advantage of other methods, particularly super collider (with violet illusionist if necessary), dynomatic, and bash to trade, and if you have a huge reserve of armor don’t be afraid to take a big hit to the face in order to bait them into going wide with the rest of their Rez cards.

If I just straight up swap this out for Abusive Sergeant in Tempo Rogue and Odd Rogue, they might still be ok? What do we think?

I've seen zero odd rogues since the nerf, but I think Deadly Poison might be a better swap.
