Talk about perfect timing. Decided to annouce your rap about Arthas when your company fcked up and is losing reputation, especially when you are the face of hearthstone. What reaction would you expect?
Okay, so I guess we all implicitly get the notion that Blizzard for this and the last expansion has operated based on the notion that "if you give them a piece of candy, and have them wait for ~2 weeks for a few more pieces, then it will be satisfying when they finally get the bag". The general notion is clearly that being forced to wait is unsatisfactory, but Blizzard probably believes that this is part of the process, because if you're annoyed then it feels good when you can finally stop being annoyed. I guess?
I don't know... I feel like people are sending one message and Blizzard are rubbing their hands thinking "It's all going according to plan", but I think for me, and many others, the genuine feeling is that when you KNOW you have to wait 2 weeks, you end up putting the game away and doing something else. For me the problem is a factor of relevance: Hearthstone isn't a girl I met in a bar and will have to wait two weeks to see - that I might keep me hyped for two weeks quite easily! - it's a game I play from time to time and it just cannot keep me excited when there's nothing to keep my excitement going.
In previous expansions (before Un'guro) I've seen Hearthpwn ripe with theorycrafting decks constantly arriving. This has mirrored my own enthusiasm too, where in earlier expansions I started playing a lot before it hit, because I wanted to make deck cores that work well and are ready to perform when the new cards arrive. This time and last, I stopped playing except to complete quests because I feel like all the decks will change and I don't know to what.
A last thing I don't get is why the hell they do these slooooow reveals, only to suddenly have a reveal stream with half the set or more in show-matches, where by the end we just get piled on with cards that didn't show up during the matches. It's almost overwhelming and you don't even have time to digest every card and what kind of deck they might fit in before you're assaulted by the next one.
