Waste of gold compared to what? Once you've purchased all the adventures, what is better value than Arena? You have to suck quite a lot (or have most of G&G) for Arena to be worse value than opening a pack.
You don't have to suck at all. If you don't get good picks and good draws you lose, it doesn't matter how good you are. Luck > skill.
it's not, you might be lucky enough to play against a new player for your first game, but overall it's filled with experienced players even if you craft an amazing there is so much RnG involved, it's ridiculous, complete waste of gold imo
And BTW for the people playing CW or Priest saying thanks for the "free wins" or whatever, it doesn't really matter because you only represent about 3% of the decks I play against.
What baffles me is why hunter (of all types but mostly face aggro) gets so much flak but everyone just accepts that 14 dmg from a druid or more on turn 9 is normal and you move on, just seems odd that they both involve drawing the correct cards, can be stopped by taunts but one is hated and the other is just ''part of the game''.
Just for the record the only decks I hate playing against are ones that slow the game down to a crawl, eg control priest (not midrange) and freeze mage. That is mostly because I enjoy playing the game xD
Oh don't get me wrong, I despise combo druid just as much, and it's popularity is the main reason why I don't play control warrior right now. Though I disagree that they both involve drawing the correct cards; with face hunter you can draw almost any cards and still win ez.
It's just a really high value minion that often forces your opponent to make awkward plays to deal with her. Even if you silence, still a 5/5 that kills belchers etc. Also, the combos you can do are pretty neat (especially with shaman!)
I really don't get the big deal about card backs. I honestly wouldn't care if there was just one that never changed. "Oooohh free card back for pre-ordering BRM, yea no thanks, don't care."
So basically, I've joined the dark side. After much frustration, I've finally decided to swallow my pride an play a brainless face hunter cancer deck. I've never won so many games in an hour compared to any other deck I've ever played.
I have most of the cards, I can build almost any deck in existance. I've tried most of them; they simply don't compare to the win rates you get with a facetard deck.
I like winning, and I'm using only gold instead of real $$$ to buy the expansions so ,as sad as it is, hunter is simply the best deck to play right now to get the most wins possible per hour.
I really hope blizzard does something to change it so huntard isn't so broken, I hate it, but until then I think I would be foolish not to abuse it like everyone else.
Maybe don't delete the decks? Try to improve them by changing some cards or try to make better in game decisions. After every defeat, always try to figure out which plays contributed to your loss.
The plays that contribute to my losses are opponents casting force of nature + savage roar, or spamming hunter hero power and charge minion.
How do you guys decide to stick with one deck and keep playing with it? When I watch streamers online, they usually have 1-2 decks that they play consistently. However, I find it very difficult to do this. When I'm trying a new deck I give it about 12 games and if I can't win at least 6 of them I get pretty frustrated and delete the deck.

I've had to craft almost all of my "good" legendaries and epics.

Not too sure how valuable [card]Master Swordsmith[/card] is in this deck. You might be better off with an Annoy-o-Tron or a Shadow Word: Death or something.

Worked pretty nice against warrior the first time I tried it. I baited out the Executes and Shield Slams then cast Ysera and buffed it with Dark Cultist and they had no way of removing until they had to hit it with Death's Bite and Grommash Hellscream but then i stole his Grommash Hellscream with Sylvanas Windrunner + Shadow Word: Death before he conceded. I think my golden Emerald Drake's may have also demoralized him.

Mad Scientist is super popular right now with all the hunters and mages, I'm surprised you don't run Earth Shocks.

I can't beat Druids. Turn 6 Emporer Thaurrisan every game. Double force + savage combo every game. Nothing I can do.
