posted a message on Question about the Mammoth Pack Bundle

    Hello,
My question is fairly simple and I apologize if it has already been asked but I can't find anything about it.

Since the Mammoth Pack Bundle is limited to one per account, will I be able to receive a second one if I win one in the giveaway while I already have bought one ?

I would really like to buy one, but I am affraid not to be able to win my prize if I am lucky and I end up winning one in the giveway.

Thank you in advance ! :)

What is the point of this thread? Flexing with big numbers?

There is no player in any card game who has a 60+ winrate, its just your daily result. Show your overall winrate if you are trying to impress with nonsense.

and since you want to know the players who lose percentages of their winrates while you are gaining them: the ‚losers‘ are the opponents you have beaten

64% is my overall WR in Ranked of all time.

Kinda lame thread man. What do you even want with it? To see people confess that they struggle?

Not at all, if I was sure there were people actually struggling, I would not have made this thread in the first place. I was genuinely surprised to never see anyone talking about a negative WR on this forum, at the point I wondered if it was really possible that there was one player with a negative WR for each player with a positive one.
But, after reading some of the answers, I guess that's mainly because :
    1) People with lesser WR are pretty much casual and are not posting on Hearthpwn, thus, there are less visible.
    2) Some people hate to netdeck (something I can understand) and accept to have a negative WR, even if they are pretty skilled.
    3) As ababyduck said earlier, people generally do not talk about their WR unless it's good, which might also explain why I have never seen anyone talking about it before.

I have a 100% win rate in my last game.

But seriously, a lot, if not most, players are not net decking to rank 5 every month, so they never reach their "peak" win rate. I've been playing for 2.5 years and only netdecked 1 season. I'd rather enjoy playing odd decks of my own making around ranks 15-10, even if I have a win rate under 50. Hell, each month I'll spend several days playing meme decks with sub-40% win rates just for the fun of pulling off some crazy combo every now and then.

You lucky guy, I got a 0% WR in my last game, ahah !
I think you are right, there might also be a lot of decently skilled players who are part of "The losers", not because they are bad but because they like to run custom/fun decks.

Now I think of it, I do not think that, for one 60% WR player, there is a 40% WR player, but more ten 49% WR players, which is less striking at first glance.

Alright, since it seems I should not have mentionned my WR, there you go. As you can see on the screenshot, it's 64% overall, which averages between the 68% I get from 17 to 5 and the 59% I get from 5 to Legend (but, since I am not making it to Legend each month, I have less (5 => L) matches than (17 => 5) matches, that's why the overall average is a bit nearer to 68 than 59 and that's why it is mostly varying between 63 and 68.

I apologize if it should be higher, I apologize if it should be lower, but PLEASE let's just forget about it and go back to the topic.

By reading some of the answers, I guess that the second hypothesis (People with lower WR do not show themselves that much since they are not going to Hearthpwn) is not far from the truth. Maybe I have underestimated the overall total number of players, compared to the number who is actually active in the community !

Oh, I didn't mean to sound offensive or pretentious, I apologize if my words were poorly chosen !

I acknowledge 68% is really good, but that is the peak I reach when I am playing my way to rank 5, not beyond, that is why it is that high. It does not solve the puzzle though : Sure, when I am on my way to rank 5 (just like most of you), especially if I am playing late in the month, I have neat win streaks at rank 17-10 and those players might be the "losers" I am looking for.

However, those players are facing most of the time "real rank 15 players", so their win rate should not be that much affected, should it ? Maybe I'm sucking at maths, but it's really hard for me to figure it out.
I hope I have been able to speak my mind more clearly this time, sorry for the confusion !

posted a message on Where are the losers ?

    Greetings,
Behind this provocative title, I would like to point an issue out that crossed my mind today.

I am a Legend player (when I have the time to grind) but I often stop at rank 5 since the rewards are not worth the grind to legend. But that is not the main point.
I noticed my average win rate varies between 63% and 68%, which is good enough. But, since the global average win rate is necessarily 50%, it means that there are people out there with a less than average win rate (like, for example, 45%). However, I have never met a single one and I am sure that everyone who is reading this text (Yes, you !) has a 50%+ win rate if he takes the time to open his deck tracker to check it.

So, where are the losers ? They necessarily, mathematically, have to exist, am I right ?
I know that, sometimes, I AM the loser, and my loss makes the WR of the opponent who just defeated me go up, but I'm only losing, at max, 37% of the time, so it cannot justify the 60%+ WR of most people on this forum.

I also assume that, if you are that bad at HS, you are probably not going to specialized sites like Hearthpwn and, thus, that might be the reason I can never see you, but it seems a little too simple as an explanation to me.

What do you think about this issue ? I would like to hear your thoughts about it !

    Thanks in advance !

(PS : As you might have noticed, english is not my maternal language; that is why I apologize for any mistake I could have made !)

Maybe Jinzo ended up with even less health than you but your HP reached 0 because of the same action, so that's a tie. It definitely works like this. Plus, the IA does not care if you are conceding when the match is technically already over. Try to play Mill Rogue against the Innkeeper, then concede right after you have played the lethal Oracle. It will still be counted as a win, even if the animations are not over yet.

posted a message on Can I make it to legend

As said earlier, if you are able to make it to rank 3 (not 4 since it's pretty easy with the rank 5 playtesters), you should be able to reach Legend eventually.
Be prepared for a huge grind though, it usually takes me more time to 5=>L than it takes to 15=>5. The players out there are really good and you have no more win streak bonus (which makes a huge difference).
It's often easy to get tilted when you play a whole day to get from 3 to 1 and you fall back to 3 in 40min of fast defeats. If you have, at any time, the feeling that "the game is against you" (for example, when you seem to always get bad matchups, poor draws...), quit playing as soon as possible. I am not sure that the game is really rigged as some may think but, if you are experiencing such a feeling, you are not in a good state of mind.

With a cold mind, high performing meta decks, enough skill and a lot of patience, you'll finally make it. Good luck !
