I've said before on the forums that I grew up playing video games for fun and I still do. Although I'm not going to lie...getting in-game gold, visual bling, free packs, etc. is certainly welcome.
But we are in 2019. I'm not sure if people still play games for "fun" if they don't get any rewards.

If they're not good in wild - in decks where you choose not to add them to your deck because they're not good enough - I really doubt they will be OP in standard through random means in decks not built with them in mind.

They don't like it when it's fast, cheap, and surprising. This could mill 1 card (2 with Drakkari Enchanter), but your opponent would know to play around it because it's still on board.
You can't return it to your hand several times to mill 6 cards in a turn; it's more like a slow Gnomeferato with potential future benefits for your opponent, which they like.

A late-game quest rogue, since most of the minion echo cards are expensive to play 5 of in a single turn, Even with shadowsteps.
A brand new type of quest rogue; one that just tosses the quest to draw it with a echo minion and shadowstep much later in the game for a turn 10 quest play.

I don't believe it will replace fishes because it's only 2 damage for 4 mana, whereas whirlwind and fishes is 4 damage for 3 mana. It depends whither or not this will be a wide or tall meta imo.
*In wild, since fishes is rotating... Leaving Warpath as the only suitable replacement.

As a casual site visitor may I suggest in future posts you also link to the last one in the series. (The last phase)
It might help reader retention if new readers don't have to manually search to find what the series is about and how we got to this point; also for readers that might of just missed the last phase.
You typically already have the segue written for it; such as "To all our competitors who successfully navigated the horrors of Phase V [...]"

Think they're considering adding it permanently. Depending on the stats this time; Like how many more players login for the rewards and how many of those players actually play a match after claiming the rewards or if they just log off right after.
Team 5 is very statistics-centric in their altering of Hearthstone.
