I'm 26 but if I was 40 or older I would still play. Definitely don't feel discouraged.

Oh I'm definietly not discouraged. I've been a lifelong comic book and gaming nerd. Just wondered if there were many more people like myself playing Hearthstone. Most of the people I run into online while playing tend to be younger. I thought age was an interesting topic to bring up.

That's BS, Dave. Hearthstone is only played by people whom are 17/16.

posted a message on Why is heroic tavern brawl hated?

As a new player it just makes it even harder to get into the game because it deprives us of the basic Brawl. I was initially only going to be F2P but decided I liked the game enough to at least pay about $40 (so far) on Adventures and a few packs. At  this point I still can't really build a very competitive deck for winning Quests so the weekly Brawl was one of the few ways each week I could actually earn some gold for free packs to build off of. This past week's Brawl literally got me through 4 quests and enough coin to buy a handful of packs. Plus the cost to enter is very steep with almost no payoff for new players like myself. I don't mind that it isn't for new players like me but it takes away something everyone, including new players, can play for something really only viable to veterans. I assume people worry that this is a new costly direction the game might be heading especially after the survey they sent out asking what new features we would be willing to pay for. Makes me worry that it's about to get even more expensive to play this "free" game.

posted a message on Should I quit Hearthstone?

I know how you feel. I just started playing 2 months ago fairly casually and it's just kind of hard to get to the point where you can really build a competitive deck. When the daily quests are to win games it can be tough when youre playing with basic card sets and everyone is using cards from the most recent adventures. Even after buying Karazahn and finished almost all of it except the final wing I still cant find any really good decks to build with what  I have. No matter how much I want to love Hearthstone I constantly find myself looking at other TCG and CCG games to see if they offer a more reasonable experience for beginners. Especially when I play Brawls where they give you advanced decks and \i play really well with them. It makes it that much more aggravating to know I'm so far from being at a point where I can build compatible decks.

I'm at the same crossroad. Pretty new to this and have enough money for one adventure. Just not sure how to go about it.

Sorry I didn't mean literally only common cards. I just knew I could get multiple competitive cards of varying rarities that would help me now as opposed to the single legendary card that I'm not sure when I'll be able to use. But I'm not going to do that now anyway.

You get a good collection of basic cars pretty fast. Just play the daily quests and in a short time you can build a deck with Tirion. BTW you dont have to take decks fromt his page, just try Tirion in random Pala Decks, you need to learn the game anyway.

I have used the decks from this page only to get some idea of how building decks works and how those decks work in actual gameplay. As you guys know what seems like it will work in theory doesn't always work in play. I think my biggest problem ends up being that I need to learn how to build a deck properly and before I figure that out hopefully not run into players with well built decks with established cards.

Quote from Urungulu >>since you're new you might've not realised, that you can search for cards with Hearthpwn search bar. Cards have their own discussion pages and polls about their usefullness, so you can read opinions other players have. It helped me a lot :)

I did not know that. Thanks

Yeah and part of the problem is that I'm so new to this that I know it seems like a great card but I don't actually know how often or how powerful any card is yet. Learning from you guys that it isn't worth dusting helps me understand the positives and negatives of cards. So I appreciate the insight you guys give.

I probably need to spend a bit more money to get the collection built up a bit.
