Chialike posted a message on Why HS comunity isn't demanding?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from BaronScarpia >>Well, I've made one meta deck only with free packs and daily rewards in a certain card game... I didn't even had to play it :)
I didn't like the pool. I mean, I think blizzard model "sucks" (priced like a physical cardgame, but no physical counterpart or resale value - and not enough freebies on a f2p game), but I can deal with it. I've been doing dailies (I don't have time to do much more than that, btw) and I usually buy 50 packs with $ (aiming for 100 with gold, to get 90%+ of the rares) and that gives me all the tier 1 decks and most tier 2 decks. If I don't craft a N'zoth priest (that would probably bankrupt my dust), I could get 4-5 decklists crafting the missing legendaries, mostly because I got insanely lucky with my epic pulls. I'm leaning towards crafting a couple legendaries (depending on the meta) and sitting on a pile of dust, since it's the first year of the rotation and I don't now how conservative I will need to be with the dust.
The thing blizzard did and I really disliked (I consider it a design mistake) was having one whole mechanic locked behing legendary rarity. You have adapt, plans, dinosaurs (beasts), elementals and even murlocs spread across all rarities, but quest is only on legendary. Imo, the legendary should be a special border meaning "restricted to one", more like a card type instead of a rarity. They could even make quests "basic cards" within the set, to avoid having a high number of legendaries on a small expansion.
Even if the arguments are (usually) wrong, the players aren't completely wrong by complaining they are locked out of an expansion mechanic. It should show more often, somehow. In magic, that would be a design mistake (one of their rules is that a mechanic needs to show on all rarities). Not only the mechanic isn't very present on the set, but it is pretty hard to pull in a reasonable amount of packs.
An easy fix to it would be giving one "juiced pack" (like they did with C'thun and OG, to let all the players experience the old god mechanic) with a random quest, or even least sell it like the classic bundle with one random legendary. Imo, it's more important to showcase a mechanic to all the players instead of giving away random golden cards on specific dates.
So, yeah, I can say I didn't like the last blizzard actions, objectively considered. So much wrong with this post. Hearthstone is far from priced like a physical card game. A newMTG box costs at least a 90 dollars, usually 100, and has 36 packs and 3-4 mythics. When you get bad mythics they are worthless and no number of them will get you good mythics. 100 bucks in hs gets you more than twice that, and your jank legends can be turned into good ones at 4-1. That's amazing value.they gave everyone C'thun not "to let everyone experience the old gods" but because so many cards in the xpac simply didn't work without him. Finally, Magic most certainly doesn't have a rule that every mechanic has to exist at every rarity. in fact, they have quite the opposite rule: complex mechanics can't be on commons. The epic spells from Kamigawa were all rares. Planeswalkers are always mythics. The pact mechanic is all rares. The Theros gods were all mythics. You just made this up lol. -

And people still say sh*t like: "if you don't like it go away" or "I spend more money at books". Compare this game to any other AAA game that recieved a lot of hate likr R6 siege or No mans sky, these are all getting free DLC. But Bli$$ard wouldn't even give away 1 free pack because of an unstable launch. But wait, you get daily rewards! for ONE week.
play no mans sky then, i mean, ITS GETTING FREE DLC!!! -

Seriously, I have been reading many posts and I still can't believe how this community accepts being milked. Why people aren't demanding? Why accepting this buisness model even? They deleted adventures? Ok. They raised packs' price? Apparently it had to be done. Low legendary rate, lots of duplicates? Bad luck, happens. Someone's pointing out possibility of lowering chanses of good rarity cards in packs? Tinfoil hat. Confirmation bias. And this sort of bullshit.
Really, why this community isn't demanding? You pay them money, you should DEMAND! I PAID YOU 50€ AND I DEMAND CONTENT THAT IS WORTH 50€. For 50€ you can buy AAA game. And here you are most likely to score 1-2 legendaries. With over 20 released in single set. That is by no means a lot. I'd say it's pretty little. Back in Naxx times this 40-cards pity timer would be acceptable, but now? With 2 class legendaries and 3 adventures a year? And they give less and less packs (12 in old gods, 9 or 6 in gadzgetan and 5 in un'goro, they exchanged classics for un'goro so it's basically 0) You SHOULD be ranting about it, just like people ranted about No man's sky.And still community is fine with it. No problems. You accept all the shit they throw at you, and call everyone that dare to disagree "spoiled, entitled". You hurt yourself, because when customer isn't demanding, the company doesn't even need to try to please his customers. When you go to grocery and buy rotten carrots in a pack you accept it because "things like that happen, need to deal with it" or you rather go to the shop and exchange it for fresh ones? And if you don't exchange it, it looks like they can put whatever they want in the pack. It's just a loose analogy, so you don't need to tell me "it doesn't work that way". It works, to some extent.
How you can call people "spoiled and entitled" when they demand quality from blizzard's part? You pay them money or invest your time - you demand quality of service and product they offer. If you agree with everything, you allow them to create unhealthy buisness model.
Pretty humongous wall of text, but I hope it's at least transparent.
You want people to discuss this, put up some facts. Not unsubstantiated claims in a rant. There has been no evidence the drop rate was lowered. The best sample size I am aware of is Krupp with a legendary for every 16.3 packs over 1070 packs. Could do with a bigger sample size, but it is the best I have and way ahead of people complaining the only got two in fifty packs.I am also yet to see any evidence of statistically more duplicates. If you have any please present it. I expect a big part of this claim is that people are looking for it after MSG and are seeing it as an excuse to be mad.People complain about the increased legendaries, but there is literally one more legendary in Ungoro than Gadgetzan, 2 more than the prior expansions and three more than Nax. They decreased neutral legendaries to offset the extra class ones.I do disagree with things Blizzard are doing but ignored you want to discuss it don't start from a rant. I would like to see some changes. I don't like losing the adventures, not because of cost but because of consistency. I don't think they the price changes are unreasonable but I do think they picked a terrrible timing. In the end the way to make a statement is to stop paying Blizzard money and encouraging others to do so by engaging them in discussion, not ranting and attacking people. -

Free2Play does not mean "I get all the cards on day 1". It means "I have to invest time and effort into winning gold through Play Mode or packs through Arena to increase my collection". If you want to be "super ultra competitive" or you just have to have the cards now, that's what pack purchases are for.
I'm just getting a little ticked at the people who go "Too bad for F2P players". Uh what? No, Free2Play does not mean that you get all the cards immediately. If expansions are so traumatizing for F2P players, then either save up gold prior to expansions so you can buy all the packs, or pony up the cash to buy packs. One of those takes time, the other doesn't. As any adult understands time=money. So if you have more time on your hands then you do money, Play for free! If you don't have a lot of time on your hands, but you do have money...buy packs!
Neither way is wrong, but I'm just getting sick of the fighting and whining about "pay2win" or "f2p" players.
