Entirely different viewer audiences is why. There are a handful of popular streamers I refuse to watch precisely because of all the chat spam; I find it counter productive to what i'm trying to accomplish. I watch Lifecoach to learn strategy, and appreciate the serious aspect of the stream. I do not watch it for entertainment value; laughing, joking, etc. I treat it like watching an instructor teaching a class, so it's completely logical for their mods to remove disruptive people from the chat. He sets the rules for his own stream...I mean come on. You don't walk into a classroom and start being disruptive and expect to stay there very long.
Your classroom metaphor is not really right. There is a joking "baam, baam, lucky ducky" man, who is acting and playing like a kid. Then the newer viewer would think, oh i can have fun and joking around also. The problem is, he has no clear chat rules. There is no such thing like "only constructive and playing analyse comments are allowed". But if the consequences are so strict, than there should be. Es gibt's doch gar nicht.
With that kind of logic it's almost like saying it's ok to act out and be immature because he doesn't explicitly say you aren't allowed to? I'm not sure I agree with this, but I will agree that he doesn't actually say certain things aren't allowed. One should however, deduce that certain things are not appropriate after watching other people being banned for similar behavior. As to his "bam bam" stuff, this is completely different than the massive troll spam that is *twitch chat*. It's fine to be happy and joyful, it is not ok to be a troll. There's joking around, and then there's being immature. Apple:Orange. Speaking to the classroom metaphor; you've never had a teacher make a joke before? Come on...lol. Doesn't mean the entire classroom then devolves into chaos o_O
I got banned on there once for doing absolutely nothing wrong...
Same here. I got instantly permabanned because i wrote "roped" when he couldn't make his play and ran out of time. Come on... this is absolutely ridiculous... I thought streaming is entertainment or something like having fun<removed>
To be fair, his page does give some guidelines about what they expect from chat content and how to be participatory and constructive rather than snide. I can't blame him or the mods for pruning an already cramped chat by taking out people who don't follow the rules
I understand if the spammers are not allowed, they don't want cancer chat like Forsen or Kripp. But come on man, you can't even react to the actions with some fun? Nonsense.
