plus people only run 1 bgh and its the only hard control (not based on damage) many classes include, and the value persists post-mortem, since after they bgh him you still got the spells +whatever else 7+ attack you got (dr balance)
only hard control i see people run are shadow word death, equality, hex, poly (which i don't even see that much since mechmage is the mage) freezing trap (send something else in first) hunters mark (Im not even sure people run this normally, i still see it enough though) sap (more spells!) and execute.
Am I the only one around here who thinks that this is a fantastic card? 8/8 is still a strong body, no matter what, and the effect is really sweet as well. It's just as situational as Alexastrasza in my opinion.
8/8 is still a BGH target and you can not have more than 2 7+ mana cards in your deck unless you want to be overrun no only by mechmages and facehunters but also by any decent midrange. One spot is for Dr.Balanced and another one is for class legendary, or you want to say that you will take this overgrown lizard over Tirion?
Casuality in this card is palpable
Because Druids don't run 2x AoL + Dr. Boom + Cenarius/KT/Sneed's?
Or is it because Handlocks don't run 4x Giants + Dr. Boom?
Or maybe Control Wallet doesn't run Grommash + Dr. Boom + Alex/Ysera/any other Legendaries?
You know not all decks are mid-ranged right?
heck i still run taunt druid with 2 AoL 2 AoW kel, sneed, rag. thats 7 7-8 mana cards, and it does fine. however it is still rather underwhelming.
and thus the counter for mechmage was realized. have a flamestrike and a blizzard.
Sure, if you weren't dead already by the time you can play him, if he's your answer to Mech Mage.
I'm not really convinced.
His 8/8 body is nothing really to shout about, and the spells could end up being either a weak one, or something you cannot use (hello Shield Slam).
that is a good point, however this is from the perspective of a taunt druid main, so i will likely live long enough to see him used, and then use some free board-wipe, however usually by that point in the match they are running out of things to put on the board and run head first into an ancient of war.
so yeah hes not going to be game breaking or even meta shifting, but i see him being situationally useful.

also some stuff i probably missed.

thank you mister 1400th person to remind me of this. the other 1399 didn't get the message across.

it isnt just things in your deck, its anything your class has, they could end up with double ancestral call.
my favorite will be "i got tree of life but im an aggro deck"
i will read it
and i will laugh.
