RNG is the name of the game in HS since it's release, not sure why people are surprised at more RNG cards. Barnes and recruit are not even that RNG, you build your whole deck around that mechanic to make it as consistent as possible. As far as I know, there are almost no decks that use barnes just to have a 15% chance to highroll. We've had far worse RNG cards like yogg, unstable portal and implosion, recruit is nothing compared to those.
I think your issues are actually about how card games fundamentally work, not just HS.
Card draw RNG decides games in any card game, as well as what matchups you get. Aggro decks are necessary to keep the meta from going too greedy and every game lasting 20 minutes and they're not nearly as brainless as people think. The majority who shit on them haven't ever even tried to play them, to gain a less biased perspective on the whole debate.
There's always going to be cards more powerful than others. The strong cards they printed since old gods have brought some really interesting decks, the game would be boring if we didn't have unique stuff like highlander priest, quest mage, ramp druid, zoolock, dragon otk priest etc. We actually had a tavern brawl where only basic cards and classic commons and rares were allowed. It got stale after 3 games because you couldn't build anything unique, just aggro/tempo, midrange and full control.
