I've opened a good number of gold cards. As long as I already had 2 copies of the original then I disenchant them. Like Nightghost84 said, I'd rather have complete decks over bragging rights to a solid gold deck. The only gold card I have not dusted is the gold Auctioneer, because its literally raining gold on him-and that's just awesome.
Reynad is a tool. He uses the money people donate to him [for playing games!!?] to buy a tonne of packs, then makes videos about how he got legend without spending.
I see nothing really special about having all gold cards. It's just a show thing. They look nice, but I'd much rather get the cards I need/want to build decks rather than worry about how nice they look. Get all the cards you want first, then think about getting them in gold ...
I had to play against a paladin who had an all gold deck yesterday. To compound to douche, he was also one of those players that every time he made a half decent play would emote something like "thank you" or "im sorry." Over all he was a garbage player who I did such dirty things too I felt almost like I owed him breakfast. Just a kid with nothing better to spend his money on than hearthstone..and still lose.
Why 'should' you though? It's not like the gold cards do anything spectacular.
I don't mean to tar all with the one brush, but I agree with LoveLoaf. The opponents I face who have mostly goldcards, have the worst BM. They spam the emotes more than any other players. And slow play when they're either way behind, or far ahead. I wish there was chat in game at times, so I could ask them 'if you're so good, why are you hanging at rank 19?' :D which is where I am currently, as I'm mostly playing arena.
Like I said Edwin is fine just as a 4/4 and if someone wastes a silence/tink on that instead of Cairne, Sylvanas, Harvest Golems, Squire/Cold Blood, Blood Knight (the meta card for early season), Argus taunts, Senjin, etc. they are probably making a mistake. If Edwin is bigger sure it might be worth it but those extra stats are basically free.
A lot of people seem to play Edwin early, rather than late. But then he's no better than any other 4/4 card? Like Dark Iron Dwarf - he's 1 mana more, but actually gives a boost to another minion when played.

Exactly. I understand that as I go in up the ranks I'll eventually run across players who have all gold decks because they've mained that class for so long and that is fine. But if you're chillin in the low to mid teens and are just showing how much money you can spend on a game for a card with no added benefit, perhaps you should turn the gold off til you get some skill. Or play MTG where how much money you spend has more impact on how well you can do.

This is like comparing Dark Iron Dwarf to Silver Hand Knight -- of course the one that costs more mana is (generally) better. How many 3 mana creatures match up with VanCleef statwise if you can play him as a 4/4? Well there's Misha who is flat out undercosted because you can't control getting him. Then not really anything else but VanCleef still has a big upside in that he can be played as a 6/6 or better.
It's not, it's comparing a legend, that costs 1600 dust, to one that costs nothing. What I'm saying is, is he really worth it if you only use him as a 4/4 early? The few times I've used him so far I've had him at least 6/6.
Another cheap alt would be Questing Adventurer - gets 1/1 for every card played, as opposed to Edwin's 2/2, but a free alternative at least. Play him first, then 2 more cheap cards, and he's a 4/4 for 3
I also had 2, DE'd one, kept the other. Cards that give 100 dust aren't worth getting rid of unless a) you have a couple or more, or b) you really need that extra 100 for something better.

If you main one particular class you should eventually get a full gold deck.

I only disenchant when there's other cards I want, rarely have more than 200-300 spare dust over.
Gold cards are my first target when I need dust though,
Don't dissenchant Brawl. If u wanna play warrior in a future, u will need it...
Will I need TWO brawls? That's the question :p

1 Brawl is the max I would use.
