Hey everyone, ConnorSwift here again. It's been a while, and in the time I've been gone I came up with a fair amount of custom cards. As usual, I have no idea if anyone has proposed any cards like these, so I apologize if these ideas have already been made. Any constructive criticism/comments are welcome.
Timewalker Deathknight seems to me like a good card, though I am not sure if it should be common not rare. But that's just details. I guess i balanced Deathknight against Emperor Cobra. 1 more health, and 1 less attack. But like you said, it's just details, nothing too insane here.
Timewalker Berserker also seems good and interesting. Its enrage effect looks weird but useful in some situations. I guess you could say that when he is enraged he is basically forcing the opponent to deal with him.
Timewalker Cleric is underpowered. It is like Youthful Brewmaster but with worse stats and a more situational effect. I think it should be a 3/2. Just so it differs from the Brewmaster. Honestly I made her that statline as to prevent a sort of power creep against Brewmaster. And I guess the stats kind of fit in with the whole Priest thing of having equal to or greater Health than attack.
Timewalker Marksman is actually very powerful, I would dare say TOO powerful. For 3 mana 3/3 it has the effect of Mortal Coil, except stronger. For me it seems unbalanced. Just look at Disciple of C'thun - it costs 3 mana and deals 2 damage upon summoning with stats of 2/1. I don't know how to balance it - maybe make it a 2/2. Fair enough. A stat change like that isn't a problem.
Lightsworn Timewalker is also powerful but this time not to the point of OP. I like it quite a lot actually.
Timewalker Assasin is OP. There's no other way to put it. A creature with 3/4 stats costs 3 mana and this ine costs 4 so the effect should weigh around that 1 mana threshold. And this creature is just an endless Deadly Shot which costs 3 mana! To this I have no response because this combo says:Win the game.Rarity, cost, stats or effect - something has to change in order for this to be something not-broken. Hm...do you think that maybe nerfing the stats would help? Like a 3/2 perhaps? Bump up the cost?
Timewalker Bloodmage should be on the submission topic for the current card creation contest (if it is, then I am sorry because I am too lazy to go through the submission thread). He wasn't, but he is now. :)
Timewalker Alundra also great but well-balanced. I would even consider switching the buff to be +2/+1 just because I personally like to have big damage enclosed in Divine Shield and watch my opponent cry. Kidding of course with the cry. Hey, don't we all?
Myfavourite card is Lightsworn Timewalker not only because of the balance and effect but also art style. Again I will say this is only my opinion so don't take it as if it were professional advice. Hey, any advice is good advice. Thanks for the feedback!
Sindorei Huntsman is very good, although to balance it I would make it deal 2 damage to a minion, not to a character. I guess I really only made it that way as a sort of minion version of Bane of Doom.
Sindorei Blademaster – I'm just gonna say it right now – I want that card! It is absolutely great in my opinion, even if it gets only +1 attack per turn. And I like the art style. Lol, thanks! Most of the artwork I use is actually from the WOW TCG. There's a lot of cards in that game with pretty friggin' cool artwork.
Corrupt Cleric to me seems unbalanced with the second part of the Battlecry. I would make it restore the remaining health, not the maximum. It is very good even with that change – a 4/6 execute with a heal. For 7 mana a great deal for Mages (2 mana Fireblast and this for 7). By remaining health, do you mean a minion with 4/7 that has 4 remaining health would restore 4 health? Or 3 health? Either way seems like a decent balance change, don't want someone getting healed for 12 off of a Ysera.
Xi'ri on the other hand is crazy! It is a Reno Jackson with a "clear-your-opponent's-board" battlecry effect and without deck limitations. Imagine a typical scenario: you have 6 HP, going against Rogue. It's your turn, he has 4 minions on the board and you have Xi'ri. You put it on board and suddenly your hero is on full HP and the only creature left is Xi'ri. This is unfortunately the not-so-unlikely truth. I would make it a more risky card: 10 mana 3/9 "Battlecry: Restore your hero to full health and deal that much damage split among ALL characters". This would seem more fair, because it would not guarantee you a board clear in your favor. Seems like a perfectly acceptable rebalance.
Depraved Sunward is a fair card, although it would be a pain in the sth to deal with. I like it though, because it gives C'thun a new effect and not many Paladin decks use C'thun. Hey, that was the idea lol.
Arms Merchant is a very cool idea for a card but just to prevent two of these entering the same turn I would make him give the weapon +1 Durability, so the second Merchant has to wait until next turn. Huh...didn't think of that. Good idea then.
Unholy Ritualist is a little OP. It is basically a Hellfire (which costs 4 mana) and a summon, because it's not that hard to kill a character by dealing 4 damage to it. I would suggest making it deal 2 damage to all characters, just because the summon could get out of control with Druids and their all-creature buffs or with Shaman's "+3 attack this turn" (I forgot the name of the card). You're thinking of Bloodlust. And you do make a fair point about how powerful that 4-damage AOE is. 2 damage definitely seems a lot more balanced.
