Updated after newest patch
Highlights of the deck:OTK with 30-40 dmg on turn 6-7
- Absolutely destroys paladins
- Pretty easy to pilot
- Cheap to craft
Game plan:
This deck took me from D5 to Legend with a score of 18-3. The main goal is to play your draw cards early, gathering pieces to do your mega turn. When you have enough spells and 1-2 SPD minions in hand, play Flash of Lightning to set up your OTK turn. Next turn all your cheap nature spells are 0 mana, so you play:
SPD+SPD + all nature spells to their face + 0 mana [card]Crash of Thunder[/card
Mulligan:
Keep Miracle Salesman, Gold Panner, Needlerock Totem, Wandmaker and sometimes 1 Flash of Lightning, as it is your key card.
Matchup:
Bad vs hunter and warrior with good draw. Destroys everything else.
Enjoy fun games and ez legend!
Loses against pretty much every aggro deck
Haven't played constructed since Uldum, I play arena. Ran out of gold finally and needed a cheaper deck.
This deck is absurd. It just plays itself and next thing you know you have 46 dmg lethal. Sometimes turn 5 lethal. I'm waiting for my first opponent to add and cuss me out.
I deserve it. 19-3 so far in SIlver 4 (will update for luls)
Edit 1: 43-5 Platinum 10, 3 warrior losses (too much armor), 2 losses to minion draws
Edit 2: Lost my stats in Firestone for some reason. I ran into a lot of losses due to a surge in warriors and some bad draws
Edit 3: 41-19 (68.3%) Diamond 7. Funny enough, my winrate vs warriors is better than my winrate vs DK's. Plague DK can be a real issue with this deck if they get an early Helya. Most of my losses are still due to either not drawing properly or having too slow of an early game.
Final edit: 56-29 (65.88%) Diamond 4. I'm a bit too burned out already to try the nerfs. The Flash of Lightning nerf could potentially kill the deck. I've won multiple times with non-zero cost Crash of Thunders too, so I expect this deck to be pretty much dead now.
Changed Thrall's Gift to Lightning Reflexes and just got from D3 to Legend with this version. It's not well positioned against DH/Warrior meta, as these are the worst match-ups, but even they are winnable sometimes (33% and 43% winrate against them respectively). If they are nerfed it can be really dangerous.
I just realised I took out the wrong card from the list after patch. I also use the same version as you and have so far gotten to D5 effortlessly, but I hasn't been trying to go futher. Well, it still works like a charm. Gj man.
Has the list been updated since the nerf patch? Not saying that its a bad deck, but feels a bit underpowered for some reason.
Yes, its cause I replaced the wrong card in the list. Fixed it now)
I hate this kind of decks so much when I play against them. I honestly would feel bad to play it.... In my opinion decks like that destroys Hearthstone. And Blizzard is to only one to blame for.
You keep posting this winrate number... however, I would counter that is a facile statistic, in this regard.
The deck requires a very specific manner of play... and if someone comes from a different class/different playstyle and tries to pilot this deck incorrectly, they are going to lose, and lose a lot.
Seeing as netdecking, "the next hot thing" is rather in vogue, and this very site EXISTS to promote that sort of behavior, it stands to reason that at least some percentage of that disagreeable win rate has come from folks who do not possess the proper temperament and/or capacity to properly operate this deck.
This. Absolutely correct. You need to know exactly when to clear and when to go face with this deck. It takes skill to feel the deck.
is this deck still viable after the nerf patch?
Yes. I tested it yesterday. Replaced nerfed cards with x2 flowriders. Also replaced 3 mana location with another SPD kobolt for more consistency. Remember to play agressivly and protect your card draw minions with Pop-up Book frogs. Still very good.
Most obnoxious deck in the meta. Play it if you like but as stated above you're gonna get some cheesy wins, only to get steamrolled half the time.
/////// edited.
Such a great deck ROFL anti meta.
Im back again... I won my first game with this. But it feels like you need to be SO lucky with draws. And i still die to pala every time.
Idk what these haters are talking about, this got me through diamond no problem, thanks for the paladin buster :) very fun and simple to pilot
And now Blizzard is nerfing 2 cards from this deck. I am affraid they are gonna kill it...
It's a casino deck with a 49% winrate, it rolls over slow decks that do nothing but vs hunter, warrior, even pala half the time you auto lose, not to mention if you don't draw flash of lightning you auto lose, if you can't OTK by about turn 6 you auto lose since even the slow decks will kill you since you have 0 board presence.
It's basically a much, much worse naga dh from badlands. You need perfect draw, your opponent to not do anything, but your "go-s" don't replenish any cards so if you don't kill you lose too.
Sometimes you absolutely dumpster your opponent but an equal amount of times you will get dumpstered. It's 99% up to luck.
How can you not draw flash of lightning? 1/3 of your deck are cards that generates it? I bet you are playing it completely wrong. You easily control the board for 4-5 turns, while dealing minor damage and drawing pieces. Then you take damage 2 turns, while setting up for you last turn. This is an extremely consistent deck. Nothing is casino about it. Sorry, completely disagree with you, and I played it from D5 to 9k legend, climbed around 6000 in legend too with ease.
Your anecdotal evidence doesn't really matter when the statistics speak for themselves. I climbed to Legend with a shitty demonlock deck in Badlands because I got lucky, it means nothing. It's not a good deck as the stats prove it has sub 50% winrate. Also "how can you not draw flash of lightning" lol, is your answer to the fact that RNG exists seriously "hOw Do YoU nOt JuSt DrAw WhAt YoU wAnT"?
It is an extremely inconsistent deck, just like naga DH was, just worse in every way.
"you easily control the board for 4-5 turns"
Okay you're just trolling at this point, sure, your 2 mana 1-2s and 2-2s which were already terrible a decade ago are going to compete with hunter's 7 5/5s, lock's 4 8/8s etc. by turn 4-5. Very reasonable.
