Pirate Warrior is back.
played this deck from Diamond 3 to legend with only 1 loss. by the time im posting this im ~2000 legend EU.
deck is very simple get early field control with cheap pirates and weapons. by turn 3/4 when you have the board go face and kill him around turn 7.
the most important is when you get Imprisoned Gan'arg turn one. This gives you a very cheap Corsair at turn 3/4 which you can combo with skybarage to win the early game.
i prefer only one Arcanite Reaper, Ancharrr and one Lance so Corsair Cache doesnt clogs your hand with expensive weapons. with hoard pillager you almost always have a weapon equipped from turn 3 onward.
Owl is a good tech card to silence some big taunts or priestess of fury when playing against DH. Heroic and Mortal Strike give you just that extra damage so you can topdeck a win vs agro mirrors.
i personally dont like Wrenchcalibur because it doesnt draws you a card and the damage from the bombs usually comes too late and depends on how much your opponent draws. this deck is very straightforward and almost plays itself, and doesnt cares what your opponent does.
Have fun
this deck is really bad against priest
Some decks will always be bad against certain classes.
Used this as my main climb from D10 to D5 the last 2 days, managed a 15-7 record. You more than likely should win by turn 7 or 8 or there's not much you can do. Switched the Owl for a 2nd Captain and the Reaper for a 2nd Lance. While the Reaper is a nice finisher, getting it with your Cache is almost backbreaking early in the game. You should be favored vs Rogue, Hunter and DH, at least in my experience I was. Your biggest advantage is the surprise factor tbh, not many people expect you do just surrender the board that early on in the game and go face.
I've been having a blast with this deck. I think there are some inevitable road blocks you'll hit but you can accrue a decent amount of wins.....at the very least it's a nice change of pace from trying to climb with the same tired rogue deck we've been seeing.
I changed out 1 Mortal Strike for 1 Armored Goon for some mid-to-late game armor/healing. You almost always have a weapon in your hands (and if you don't then you are most likely dead anyways) so if you get to drop the goon on 6 you are looking at a 6/7 minion plus 5 armor.
Pretty damn lucky if you managed this to Legend!!
No proof either.
i added proof
Well I tried first game vs DH he plays two blazing battlemages, battlefiend and umberwing. I play corsair cache then anchar with dreadcorsair. I get a parashute brigand too. he just kills my stuff with eye beam while healing keeps board and I am down to 14 hp before I have even played turn 4. You must have been pretty lucky to not lose a single game when you're dead on turn 5 vs DH. Killing them by turn 7 is pretty slow in a meta where you're dead on turn 5. Anyway I will try it out more. Maybe I just got unlucky.
Edit: Aside from being on the coin every game I have ever played this deck, priest seems unbeatable since all they have to do is play a minion and you lose. Rogue should in theory be beatable but they seem to just highroll ancestral guardian off pharoah cat. I could see how this could be a good deck if you get lucky and have a good run but I don't see how it beats warrior, priest or demon hunter. They get taunts/heals or do more damage than you do.
I am sure people are going to be winning with this deck at gold or something but this seems like outside of getting lucky vs D1 -5/legend players you're going to just be losing. It's just too slow to kill someone by turn 7. By then warrior has healed for 20. Priest has impenetrable taunts up or DH has killed you. I mean DH can play satyr on turn 3 and you're done basically.
I suspect what is going on is this deck is REALLY bad on the coin. As in absolutely hot garbage on the coin and pretty decent when going first. So if you get a good run where you are on the coin you might find you get no losses. If you are on the coin you are probably going to lose most people.
I have to admit, the horrible grammar for this deck's description really made me feel like this was going to be shit. But after playing it I went from Gold 10 to Gold 5 without losing a single match. Big thanks from me!
Looks like a pretty fun deck. Would you sub something out for another Southsea Captain, or no?
No Ancharrr no deck?
I would think not. Just crafted it last week and have zero regrets.
