So the main idea behind aggro decks (on ladder) is to quickly get wins to achieve legend rank in the least amount of time. Unfortunately, this means the opponent on the other side has a terrible time playing the game. Well, if we make it so the games last longer, this will ultimately slow the decks and make their goal less achievable. This is why, as a community, we should rope all aggro shamans and zoolocks we encounter on ladder. However this must be done as a community to show that every time someone plays a deck like the ones above, they will have to wait a much longer time to get their win.
So, you are proposing for a community to engage in that sort of bad behaviour to get back at aggro? That sort of logic is toxic in itself.
I don't enjoy versing aggro 70% of the time too, but I won't be sitting there butt-hurt and engaging in that sort of behaviour. I value my own time as well, plenty more matches to be played instead of being salty.
I'm a fan of every single deck and class this game has to offer. Honestly aggro is not as powerful as it was before the intro of standard. Aggro is in a good spot right now. Before standard you could literally lose a game on turn 5 and I mean your health is down from 30 to 0 just like that. Every game I play against aggro right now goes to turn 8 and above, this never too often before standard. I think the problem is that you and people like you just need to change what they are doing or accept that they are doing something wrong. I don't have a problem against aggro too much and when I do I lose.. Just accept that you will lose games and that you can't win them all. Simple.
You could beat them though, I'd think that works better. No need to rush turns or take more time then you need. Roping wouldn't annoy me, I try to imagine the other guy is thinking about his plays, sometimes it can be hard decision.
Depending on how well I know the deck I'm playing, sometimes I rope people(if I need to think more), sometimes I do all my plays almost instantly(if I know my deck, damage potential and draws really well+I know my opponents as well)
I don't like playing against aggro either but I'm not going to rope the people who do play it. That's pretty immature. I don't like my time wasted, either. To each his own, though.
I imagine that getting a rise out of pathetic crybaby scrubs it's one of the reasons people play aggro in the first place. If you cannot handle aggression, then you need to play a different game.
1. This is a horrible idea, because you make the game longer for yourself, getting nowhere, while your opponent spends time in another window reading something or watching sports or XXX.
2. What community? The community enjoys playing fast decks.
3. I personally play everything from aggro to combo to control. And if I am going to lose on ladder, I like losing on turn 6, as opposed to losing on turn 15. It's more efficient that way. In casual, I don't mind losing in any fashion. And I know I'm not the only one.
Sure, aggro is strong right now, but does that really warrant wasting their time? Roping just makes you seem like a complete dickhead, no matter who your opponent is.
I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked and put in the salt thread like every other thread that mentions aggro as possibly not super fun to play against. That being said roping isn't going to stop people from playing aggro and is just kind of a dick move. There is literally no "cure" for aggro, people are just going to play them because they are easy to play, strong and fast. Even the all board clear decks don't work because board clears often cost too much and minions are too sticky. Dreams4lyfe's post made me laugh though because that is the typical aggro mindset of "I win on turn 7 instead of turn 6 so it's not aggro anymore and everyone is doing it so it isn't bad for the game".
If you really want to stop aggro you have to just wait till everyone is bored of the playing the same decks the same way which is never going to happen with new players coming in. I used to play a lot of aggro decks pre GVG but now I have pretty much all the cards I want and don't really care about gold or grinding for wins so I play fun decks. Most of the aggro players play those decks because they're cheap and easy, if they could afford a 10k control rogue maybe they would play it.
We, control players, are obviously better than aggro ones (there is no doubt about it), so we shouldn't stoop to their level. I'm against this idea, I have dignity, and there is no way I'm going to stoop to the level of an aggro player, I'm much better than this, although as a gentleman I usually treat them with great respect.

I do this anyway every game no matter what deck I play against, life coach is my hero
Let me change your mind...
It's Ok I alt tab and do something else while you are thinking you affect aggro players in anyway you are wrong..
I will be legend while you be rank 15 cause you rope all aggro decks.

If you are bad and stuck at low ranks aggro decks are not the problem here.
So your solution to save the game as a community is to kill the game as a community?

We all need to rope in general, regardless of decks.
That way the overall quality of plays can go up, less trying to rush every game out with misplays, and think deeper about potential turns.

we could just build mage decks with lots of AOEs so that every aggro deck would get hated out of the meta?
but then the meta would be full of board wipes....
The best way to solve problems is to create more problems until you are dead
