If you make a deck specifically to beat this, put in silences and/or kooky chemist, crazed alchemist, etc... to make the bone spikes ineffective. That's the strongest thing you have to face.
I made a Priest deck flooded with Silences as well as Crazed Alchemist, Cabal Shadow Priest and Humongous Razorleaf. Then, I just ran the deck until I could get the dream of stealing one of those bone shrines from Marrowgar and launched enough damage into Marrowgar's face with my Silenced and buffed-up Razorleaf alongside my other minions.
Priest deck using inner fire, divine spirit. Have some taunt minions in there. If you can get a Poison Snail out early with a Divine Spirit on it, you can control for quite a while since most minions are 2-3 health. Use silence and Shadow Word to control the bone spikes. You want to use Thoughtsteal and the little crystal minion ... try to get ahold of his bone spikes. Mind control, or the other 6 cost minion that allows you to steal a bone spike. Took a few tries, but eventually got the combo ... copied a spike from his deck, and stole one ... put them both out, and win. With this deck, it works, or it doesn't. If you lose the board, may as well just reset it and try again, but when it comes together, its a guaranteed win

I wanna glide down, over Mulholland I wanna write her, name in the sky I wanna free fall, out into nothin' Gonna leave this, world for awhile
keep at it. The priest deck WILL work ... focus on board control with taunt and shadow word. If you can get a poison snail out early with a health buff, you can control the board for a LONG time. ( I actually was able to take him to fatigue a couple times, but still lost due to his heal). You just have to get the right combo set up ... steal 2 bone spikes, or steal one and have enough damage to burn down the rest

I somehow won with shadow ascendants. Between Mirage callers and a bunch of ressurects I had four of the guys on the board just juggling all the buffs. It was baffling and hilarious
I ran Potion of Madness, silence, divine spirit & inner fires + a bunch of draw & heals. Either silence the 0/8's, or potion + double divine & inner fire for lethal. Worked very well.
I tried decks promoted on /r/Hearthstone and none of them worked. Tweaked all of them into the above decklists and won all within 3 fights. Best of luck, bro!
Let me know if these decks helped. For Deathwhisper, you cannot copy the 30/5 dragon as a workaround a la Herald Volazj or Mirage Caller. I removed the latter two cards and substituted for taunts to lengthen the fight and increase odds of pulling the healing cards you need to win. Also, Northshire Cleric+Circle of Healing in your opening hand is straight gold.
FWIW, with not many cards, I had a tough time with this fight as well. I just played Priest and tried the Silence strategies above. I got extremely lucky, because through random RNG, Marrowgar got Soulpriest, and then decided to play it and use its hero ability. So, free win? I'll take it.
Literally have spent the past 3 hours trying to beat this ridiculous boss fight. I mean, wtf blizzard... this is pure bullshit. 7 decks later, no progress... fkn trash expansion
Either use a Malygos deck with Emperor Thaurissan (Rogue seems best here with all those Petals), if you have those cards, for an OTK, or Exodia Quest Mage.
Apart from that - Jade Druid works well, or you could even try something with Vicious Fledgling if you can keep them alive long enough to get some attack buffs and windfury.
It's not that difficult, I've started the fight with a Miracle Giant/Yogg Rogue and didn't even check his hero power before. Still managed to kill him with 1x Auctioneer, a big VanCleef and two Arcane Giants, so it's definitely doable.

I used priest on both NA and Asia. Struggled a bit on NA since I only have 1 Inner Fire and no Cabal Shadow Priests.
Beat it first time on Asia with this list

Those guys claiming Jade Druid would work are delusional. You'll lose about 90% of the games, Jade Druid is WAY too slow for this hero.

run priest
I ran Freeze Mage. It took a few tries, but eventually I OTK'd him with the help of Emperor Thaurissian and Evolved Kobold.

Confucious say "Man who go to sleep with itchy butt, wake up with smelly finger"
You can beat him with a fatigue deck too, I took him all the way to -8 fatigue and then finished him with what I had on board.

I've no clue what I'm doing...
THUMB5UP deck worked perfectly on Marrowgar. 3rd try and I beat him.
