Malfurion is the only hero card I've gotten since the expansion, and its hero power is nowhere near as useful as virtually all the other classes. For example, compared to Warlock, Malfurion gets the OPTION of either +3 attack OR +3 armor. Guldan hero gets 3 damage PLUS 3 health, and gets to choose where to deal the damage without taking any himself. Malfurion summons either two poisonous spiders or two 1/5 taunts, but Gul'Dan summons demons that died. I haven't seen anyone else using Druid hero since expansion. Am I missing something?
You are missing the disgusting ability of Druid ramping out the Hero at turn 4 with Wild Growth turn 2 and Innervate. The only hero that is even remotely comparable on how easy Malfurion is to play is Thrall.
What? you havent seen anyone use it? there is not a single druid, from aggro to control, that does not use it.. sure, it is not a superstar in the game, as with the priest and warlock dk, but so what? it is way more flexible of a card, with little to no requirements on the deck building.. druid as a class is way more versatile and strong atm, with multiple strong archetypes.. druid's dk fits them all.. it is just a solid card, and it may not be flashy but it has a solid spot on every druid deck..
Yes, my friend, you are missing something. Druid is actually at the top of the leaderboards right now because of how many good cards they received. Just to name the best ones: Ultimate Infestation and Spreading Plague. Malfurion the Pestilent might not be the best, or the most flashy hero card, but is being run in the most powerful deck at the moment: freaking Jade Druid. Besides, if you manage to stick a Fandral Staghelm on the board, the hero power becomes quite good. Can you imagine what it would be like if the hero power was insane like Bloodreaver Gul'dan?
I don't know if the deck will hold up once the meta stabilizes (I think it will), but pulling Malfurion the Pestilent is nothing to be ashamed of. Just put it in a Jade Druid deck (there are a lot of lists aound) and be happy. And go make other people miserable.
Malfurion the Pestilent is the most versatile hero card and is an instalock in every Druid deck that's not aggro. I crafted it in gold just for this reason and of course because it's also my main class
Your comparison of Druid DK to Warlock DK is flawed. Yes, Warlock DK deals and heals 3, but ONLY to a maximum of 30 health. Whereas the Druid DK uses armor rather than health, meaning Druid DK can theoretically have infinite health. That makes a huge difference, which is why the Druid power is split into 2 parts.
Malfurion the Pestilent while not flashy, is easily the easiest Hero card to put in a deck because you don't have to build a deck around him, and that makes him one of the best hero cards albeit more boring. Pretty much every druid run him if they have him and there's really no reason not to
Yeah it kinda sucks. Don't listen to these people, they are talking about how Druid is a good class. Which has nothing to do with how bad the DK sucks.
I got it and i'm loving it, 2 poisonous spiders can be really good most of the time and more attack and armor definitely helps + he looks really bad ass, i always hated ol gay rainbow druid portrait.

So in the best class everyone runs the DK and you are saying it's weak? It's so weak people are cutting other armor generation tools from the lists. The DK on it's own is a pure value tool.
Yep. It's only played because the deck got Ultimate Infestation which is a way more overpowered card. Druid DK is easily the weakest, a simple comparison will show you that. Are the decks that play it the best decks right now, sure. Is it a good card, no.
You guys are blinded by the meta. Once Druid falls out of the meta (if ever nerfed) my point will be obvious.
The hero power is pretty decent if you look at it independently. It just looks worse next to some of the other DKs, like Gul'dan, as you mention. That being said, it's a bit strange because it takes a hero power that traditionally awards two things which synergized with each other (because unlike other hero powers that award damage, you often are taking damage to deliver the attack damage it grants you, so the armor it gives synergizes with that to mitigate the damage you usually take when using its damage), and makes you choose between them. Beyond that, Druid also doesn't really have mechanics that support, synergize, or interact with Armor, like Warrior does, nor does it have the removal to support an armor-up control type of playstyle. Nevertheless, it isn't a bad hero power, just kinda... bland relative to the others.
The battlecry is rather unimpressive to me. People here like to talk about how great the poison minions are, but honestly they aren't that good in practice. Low health poison minions have never been particularly good in constructed because, for most classes, they are so incredibly easy to deal with and remove before they're able to get any decent value. There are some ideal circumstances where these can get good value, but more often than not, they just get immediately removed with relative ease.
Aside from all that, he's still decent, but I think the more glaring issue with him is that he just isn't that interesting. He doesn't really open up any new ways to play druid like many of the other DK heroes have done. He supports ramping and token... that was already a thing regardless of him, so he's just being subbed into decks that already exist. He isn't inspiring any new Druid play. Other DKs are at least bringing something new and different to the table for their respective classes, while Druid DK is just kinda same-y and redundant by comparison.
He might be unimpressive or weak compared to other dks but he is the easiest one to get early, and he gets a lot of damage and/or survivavility it's a strong card nonetheless

poor druids. if only they got good cards.

That's exactly the reason I am not crafting any druid cards yet. They are just very powerful. I am afraid a nerf-bat is incoming.

It's cheaper. And the ability to summon two taunts makes it a very safe drop even on a contested board.

It's flexible and fits in almost every druid deck. It's a really good hero.
ys you are missing everything dude!
druid dk is number one safe craft of this expansion it is literally the card which sees the most play atm.

It's actually one of the best.
