Yeah, this is definietly a control deck.  The core cards being control cards, where you can then fill in the blank spots to your liking.

As I played control warrior a lot in the past your card draw order has a great impact on your results.

If you don't draw your clears early, you can be screwed.

If your heals are in the bottom 10, you're likely screwed.

    Part of the game though.

This was a fun one yesterday.

    Against a Pally.

    I have 8 health.

    Pally has a secret.

I clear his board, drop Rag.

Rag hits 8 to his face.

Eye for an Eye kills me.

I mean who plays this card?

I've been using, tweaking, and commenting on this deck for a couple days now.  Posting my latest in here in case people are not following.

    This deck is hella fun.

Had a really good run tonight.  Made some adjustments.

-2 Master Jouster: While minion curve is high, losing a joust can be detrimental.

+2 Sunwalker: Much more consistent, and can't be targeted by priests due to the 4 attack.

-1 Dr. Boom: I'm in the minority here but I've never been a fan of this card.  The boom bots introduce too much RNG for me.  Personally I like to keep my decks with as little of it as possible.

+ 1 Al'Akir the Windlord: Another taunt and charge.  If you have any of your Rockbiter Weapon all the better as it can be used for a finisher.

-2 Crackle: RNG gods hate me.

+2 Lave Burst: Rather do 5 damage than pray for it.

-2 Armored Warhorse: Often sits dead in my hand.

+ 1 Emperor Thaurissan: Takes the overload, out of overload.

+1 Chromaggus: Only because I don't have Skeleton Knight.

+1 Ancestors Call: This card has been HUGE for me.  Sometimes I can get something big out on turn 4.  Sometimes I'm inoverload deep in the game and I use it to play my only legendary or Sunwalker with the 4 mana I have.  This card has been clutch.  Better played turn 7 if you have a Hex in case something bad comes out from your opponent.

One of the games I did lose tonight was against a Paladin.  He has a clear board, Rag is on the board on my side.  I have 8 health left.  He has a secret.  Freaking Eye for an Eye.  First time I ever lost a game like that.

In another game against a pally I played Ancestors Call, pulled out Rag, it pulled out Tirion for the pally, I used Hex on Tirion, used a Rockbiter to kill the taunt.  Clear board, 8 to the face. He conceded after that.  It was beautiful.

I'm posting this for shits and giggles, but the thought makes me grin ear to ear.

    + 1 Ancestors Call

More changes would be needed, but imagine on turn 4 dropping Emperor or Rag on the board?  Admitted can backfire if an opponent's legendary is also pulled out.

Would also want to minimize minions with battle cry effects.

Heck this sort of change....maybe you add Deathwing to the deck.

This deck makes me think so much. =D

When Skeleton Knight is killed, and goes back to your hand, does he retain the stat boost from Mistcaller?

    Good points.

I'll try to remove a warhorse tonight and put Sylvanis back in along with the Emperor.

I must admit I did have one game where a priest buffed a minions health, then made the health his attack.  It was nice to steal that 12 attack minion.

I really need to craft Skeleton Knight.  Eventually!

I'm seeking feedback about the following.

    1. Replacing Crackle with Lava Burst.  +1 mana in exchange for knowing you'll always do 5 damage.  A bad Crackle result seems like it will often cost you the game.

    2. Armored Warhorse.  I like the card but would something along the lines of the Azure Drake possibly fit better?  A 5 drop which helps to improve your odds for Jousts, +1 spell damage to go with the spells, along with a card draw.  A lot of the time it seems like Armored Warhorse is just sitting dead in my hand.

    3. Replace Sylvanis with Emperor Thaurissan.  It often seems that I'm prevented from dropping one of my late game minions because I'm in overload.  Emperor would have the same effect as Sylvanis (being a soft taunt as it must be removed), plus the added benefit of discounting your big minions.

Edit: Meant Lave Burst, not Lava Shock.

    It's been so-so thus far.

Maybe the absence of Skeleton Knight is impacting my results, but I've just had a terrible string of luck the past 2 days.  So much so I removed crackle as I would often get 3 when I needed 4.  Tossed in lava burst for something more consistent.

But back to Auctioneer, it seems a bit much in this deck.  Will have to find another suitable replacement.

EDIT: I should clarify when I say "so-so" that I'm referring to my results with Auctioneer, not the deck.  I still love the deck, despite the eternal curse the RNG gods have put on me.

Only a couple of games and this deck is hella fun.

No Skeleton Knight, so threw in an Auctioneer to fill in the 6 slot.  With all the spells draws me some extra cards.

posted a message on Lost to an interesting deck today

I lost to an interesting deck today I haven't seen before.

It appeared the whole premise was overload and board control.  Then finish with a Bloodlust.  Cards I know I saw include...

Hex x2, Zombie ChowLightning BoltLava ShockTotem GolemTuskarr TotemicDunemaul Shaman x2, Piloted ShredderPiloted Sky Golem

I figured given the amount over overload Unbound Elemental must be in there as well.

Has anyone seen anything similar?  I'm curious if there is a build out there I could look at.

I've put together as much as I could based on what I saw in the game and built a deck of my own.  Not claiming it's top tier, but I've won a coule games and it is really fun.

posted a message on Will midrange Shaman be viable in TGT

From what I've read from others it's possible for Shaman to be something, but it really depends on where you are on the ladder and how good of a player you are.

If you're one of the few average Joe's on this site such as myself who plays an hour a night, then your not high on the ladder.  The variance in decks below rank 10 is pretty large, and the release of TGT has made that more so.

I've tried my own builds and some net decks, but I run into the same problems as always.  Too much RNG in the shaman cards and hero power, and the overload just kills your tempo.

I'm not saying Shaman can't be played competitively, because who am I to say, but as a class to pick up and play it's downright difficult.

I'm still surprised I've managed to squeak 370 wins with the class.  it's the next golden I've been working on, but I think I'm insane for even trying.

wtf lol ? You learnt how to do that at school when you were 3 years old.

Let's test. You have an Emperor'd combo of one Warsong Commander, one Grim Patron and one Frothing Berserker at t10, also there are two Whirlwinds and a Inner Rage in your hand, and a Death's Bite 4/1 equipped as a weapon. Your board is empty, enemy having Bolf Ramshield 3/9, Axe Flinger 2/2 and Sludge Belcher, all at full. Your opponent is a control warrior with 26 HP and 12 armor. Do you have a lethal? If not, what amount of HPs you would be able to cut? Your HP are at 8, counting armor, so a wrong answer will lead to miserable failure. You have 90 seconds to answer.

    I remember this from school.

    The answer is always "C".

I wish meta was like 99% aggro sometimes. When my control decks get overrun by aggro turn 6 every other game I switch to anti-aggro decks. Then I don't face so much aggro anymore but control I am weak against. Trollstone meta.

Stable meta full of aggro also means stable laddering with anti-aggro decks. Sure, you can still lose sometimes but its nowhere near as bad as meta being total mess with heavy control decks and hyper aggro decks, when you can't really optimize your deck against both.

For real. My control pally has been wrecking cancer hunter and eboladin.

Just wish I had time to play more.

This is what I'm running ATM.
