Despite my petty bickering about few visual design flaws, I find this game to be quite more interesting than HS. And there's a thing with getting way more value for money spent. A free pack that I've just opened had 2 legendaries and 4 epics in it, VALUE!
I'll keep playing it for a bit more to see if I'm indeed happy with it, but at this point I'm really considering to cancel my Un'Goro pre-order.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends will soon be available on the following platforms:
iPad – March 23
Android Tablets – April
Mac OS – May
Mobile Phones – Early Summer
We’re happy to announce our first major story campaign update for Legends coming April 5: “The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood”is a brand-new Story that will feature new solo PvE content – more than 20 missions spread across three maps – as well as over 40 new cards. Those who pick up “The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood” will also receive the Doom Wolf mount in The Elder Scrolls Online (PC/Mac only) as a bonus. This is just the first step in better integrating Legends and The Elder Scrolls Online going forward.
In May we will be adding a variety of features including a full Spectator mode, Twitch integration, and support for in-game tournaments with our all-new Gauntlet mode. Gauntlets are limited-time, in-game tournaments where you create a deck out of the cards in your collection and compete against other players to reach the top of the Gauntlet leaderboard. The length, conditions and prizes for the Gauntlets will change from month-to-month. We’ll be talking more about all of our May features over the coming months.
Betrayer... In truth, it was I who was betrayed. Still, I am hunted. Still, I am hated. Now, my blind eyes see what others cannot: that sometimes the hand of fate must be forced! Now go forth... unleash the tides of Doom... Upon all those...who would oppose us.
Your first live match awaits: The Elder Scrolls: Legends is now officially launched on PC! This game update also introduces an option to pre-order our first Story, The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood, a new type of downloadable content featuring a standalone campaign and 40 new cards. We will be announcing these major milestones and more in full detail on the Legends website tomorrow but wanted to offer the very first look to our dedicated Beta players as Legends launches.
New expansion coming. New Story: The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood The first Story, The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood, is now available for pre-order. This new content will be released on April 5.
I played ESL when it was first out (open beta after reset). I was legend in the first 2 seasons then I stopped. Tbh I don't know how it is now but at the time it was more aggro then hearthstone. The game mechanics definitly favor aggro as well.
The "double" class concept is fun. The lack of heropower hurts the game imo (defensive hero powers would helped control tremendously).
It's very tempo orientated, on curve play. The attacker chooses the attacks same as HS and there is a lot of randomness. Also you can't answer your opponent's plays.
At the end of the day I would call it "worse hearthstone with cool elder scrolls re-skin"
I started playing in open beta and they must have improved it between when you played and when I started, because it was worlds better than HS where aggro-cancer is concerned. I haven't played HS since, so don't know how it compares now, but I have no interest whatsoever to ever play HS again.

Here's why TESL is better than HS in every possible way
Actual meta diversity
Rune system and prophecy cards
More depth through items, support cards, neutral spells, dual color system, dual lane system
Less RNG, less bullshit
No imbalanced heropower
No pirates or shamans ;)
The devs actually give two fucks about the game, don't need 6 months to get shit done
Really good game balance, very few cards which might need a nerf. Merric and Atromancer come to mind but that's about it
I love this game and while I am going to be completely F2P, I am really excited for the moment I can afford Madhouse with Gold and the moment Dark Brotherhood becomes gold purchasable.
Have you seen confirmation that Dark Bro is going to be gold purchasable at some point?
ESL is a pale reskin of Hearthstone with an Elder Scrolls skin. While Elder Scrolls universe is fun the game itself is Hearthstone with new problems and no new solution. Aggro is extremely favoured by the combat mechanics, the lack of hero power/card draw and the double board which makes it possible to ignore taunt minions and go face anyway.
Overall a very poor ersatz of a card game. Oh, did I mention to talk about randomness deciding games ?
Source : I was legend ranked in the first 2 seasons of ESL then stopped because might as well play hearsthone unless you like Elder Scrolls universe more then Warcraft universe lol. And double board is dumb as shit.
I rate Hearthstone higher even witht he cancer pirate and jade meta :(
LOL at your implication that randomness is worse in TESL. I can only assume you're trolling and/or paid by Blizz?
No idea how much it'll cost but you can buy the expansion with gold. From the official article: (of course, no pre-ordering using gold)
The Story of The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood is broken up into three sections, or maps. Each map can be purchased using gold or cash. A special bundle price of $19.99 gets you all three maps.

Sounds fantastic!
This is awesome news, I'm ecstatic for any card game that pushes for in-client tournaments! And I'm excited not to have to use the Canadian App Store to play it on my iPad, as minor as that might seem. Overall hopefully the game does well, I'm hoping competition between HS/Eternal/ESL/Shadowverse pushes f2p and digital card games in an awesome direction.

Wow ... i dont remember talking about your opinion is stupidity. I DONT say tes didnt got influenced from hs. BUT they have different mechanics and different style . Calling people stupid and fanboy shows how immature you are .
What different mechanics do they have? Mechanics is 99% same. There is only very few minor things that are not present in HS at some form. Otherwise they just renamed the keywords and added (very) few new ones. Changing max. mana from 10 to 12 and naming it magicka is not a new mechanic. Also giving the mana ring instead of mana coin to the player going second is again not a new mechanic. And most of the mechanics are completely identical. Only really new things are crystals, split battlefield and support cards.
99%? Runes, prophecies, lane system, MtGesque color scheme instead of heroes, to name just a few.
You obviously haven't played the game, but keep trollin' bro.

Now that the game is out of beta, I bought one of those $4.99 starter packs this weekend. I still need a lot more cards to build some decks tho. I hate not having good options in the game haha

Farm solo arena - it's pretty worth it, and not hard at all if you have ccg experience and your draft doesn't completely suck. I played 3 today, and finished with 9 wins twice.
I like some golden cards, but as a whole agreed. Gwent golden cards are way cooler.
As for new players or players looking to build up the collection -> do SOLO arenas. They are very good and well done. The AI isn't so bad once you hit rank 4. At rank 1-2, it gets very challenging as well but you get better at the arena. The rewards are great for what you invest.
Elder Scrolls Legends - Arena Tier List -> very nice and useful site. I usually play in window mode, so it's handy to run this in the background while drafting.

Trying it out since yesterday - It certainly looks nice, but I'm finding it a little too familiar. It's a bit ... 'Tauntstone' - even the emotes, the ruins/mana, a lot of the voice overs, and basic structure are a bit too like HS. Only real difference being the split lane.
I started playing Gwent a couple of weeks ago and tbh, it blow this one out of the water. It'll be a proper good game when it hits open beta [apparently very soon] - I would suggest anyone looking for an actual change, try that over this.

The classic tier: Reno Jackson | Elise Starseeker | Brann Bronzebeard.
It is already on ipad if you swap to a canadian account.

I nearly got a legendary from every solo arena run at rank 1 with 9 wins .
The only thing disappointing at the moment is no great looking golden cards. They don't seem worth the dust.
