not even sure why i'm excited about a new expansion that will be interesting for like 3 weeks max and be boring as all hell for the rest of the time. waiting literally 3 months for something with very limited fun timespan
yaaaaay, i'm overjoyed...
Not gonna lie, I'm mostly excited about the reveals, opening packs and playing the first day of the expansion before all the netdecks are perfected. After that it's back to the usual.

well, that's exactly what i mean. reveals could be interesting if they for once stop with this slow as piss dripfeeding. after 2 weeks its beginning to get stale and are refined the next week. after that, i might as well quit for 3 months until new stuff or count grains of sand, more exciting. the only real hope i have is that the rotation brings huge amounts of changes which it might
I don’t like RNG either. Some say it’s fun but for me it’s the opposite it just makes you turn your house into a demolition site ehe. Plus the demand for achievements was huge I’m sure they’re gonna do something about it. Probably not this expansion too little time since Dean asked the community but soon who knows
I'm excited because I started playing last September and have no cards from the Year of the Mammoth. And I personnaly love RNG cards, especially the Discover mechanic, because I feel they make games less boring.
The next expansion is going to be very significant. The year of the mammoth expansions are rotating out (Journey to ungoro, frozen throne, kobolds and catacombs) so a lot of very powerful cards are leaving standard. The problem that Blizzard have is with Genn and Baku in the game, the devs have to be EXTREMELY careful with the cards they print in the next expansion because it will only take 1 or 2 strong cards to create a meta breaking deck.
I remember when lifecoach went to play test for blizzard and he warned the devs not to release patches, but the devs released patches anyway resulting in pirate warrior murdering the meta. With Genn and Baku in the game now, the devs cannot afford to make anymore mistakes.
Lifecoach said the same thing about the Hunter quest and we all know how OP it turned out.
No expansions this year. I heard the presentation is about something they called Heartstone Immortal ...
Really? I heard they were getting rid of the heroes / classes and instead everyone will play in the same arena all together, attacking whoever they like, playing whatever cards the feel like. There's talk about keeping a single player experience, but it will be around other people or something... The designers said something about "Emergent Gameplay" whatever that is....
You know, I'd actually like it if Blizzard just said nothing, then out of the blue they just drop an expansion without warning. No time for pre-netdecking, no prediction of tiers, no time to judge filler cards and bad legendaries. You're here now, learn the expansion as you play.
If they were worried about preorders, they could let people "preorder" with the portrait bonus and all that stuff during the first few weeks.
I'd lose my shit if that happened, in all the good senses of the word.
That would be interesting, but one issue: I don't think the community could handle hearing literally nothing until early April.
Normally when things get VERY stale, we start up the card release cycle, which lasts a month and should be starting about a week from now. Thus everyone pretty much forgets about how they feel about the game while they look at the new cards and speculate. It eats away A LOT of possible rage that would come at the most stale part of the game.
Not having a pre-release wouldn't speed up the actual release time, so instead of us learning about the expansion next week and watching that until April, we get..well, this exact same silence for another month.
I've SEEN the community go through that. When rotation was first announced in February, they made the 'mistake' of just mentioning that there would be a spring expansion at some point. However, said expansion (old gods) wouldn't show up until late April and it would be late March when we would get any information. So it was basically a month of silence.
No amount of rage, or hate, or ranting done this year comes anywhere #*()$#) CLOSE to that period. Every podcast, every post, even the casters during tournaments were just dripping with the horror of having nothing to look forward to. It was just unpalatable to be there, even if they had reason to be that way. That immediately stopped the second the first Old Gods cards were announced. Within a week everyone was in 'hype mode' talking about how horrible the early cards are, but how interesting C'thun was, and a lot of folks figuring out WTF the 'old gods' were, and so on.
So yeah, it would be cool to have it be a surprise. But I'm not sure we could handle such a long wait time.

No RNG is baku and genn.
Did you like it?

I'm looking forward to Wronchi's animated shorts with card reveals. Those were awesome

I don't even anticipate anything. There'd be another stupid Y'shamurloc or Demon'zoth with Battlecry "destroy your opponent and win the next 3 games".
Although I can't wait to get rid of all the stupid cards from the year of whatever.

Its allways the same days that Path of exile expansion, next PoE expansion is in 10 days, so they should start the reveals today or tomorrow.
Dr7 its back!
