Wonderful, I actually made a thread that got some discussion. Im not gonna reply to every single person so im just gonna write it here. I know I should have pointed out every single board clear/single target removal from every class but it was 12am and was tired and lazy lol.
Point was hunters board clears are 2 card combos. (For example the toxic arrow and unstable ghoul) And the board clears are from neutral cards, not the class cards. Also the bat guy is way too slow to make it to save your ass and if you want immediate clear with play dead its 2 cards and 5 mana deal 2 damage to all enemies so a worse holy nova.
The thing I didnt remember to put come up is that hunter should need board clears but theyd have to be (like someone said here previously) balanced so aggro wont gain new tools.
I just want to play a controllish hunter. Warrior is a control class right? Well why the hell can it play one of the best aggro decks out there. If control class can get aggro, why cant aggro class get control. Also warrior pretty much has a deck for every single archetype.
Hunter definitely need some good board-clear. It's a way to go for new more controlish archetype. Now, when we have Build-A-Beast and Dinomancy, it can be so intresting!
i think the issue with control hunter is that they didn't have much of an endgame, unless you wanna go for a nzoth build. DK helps w/ value, sure, but i think that's better as a slow midrange than strict control build, or as tech for improving control matchups.
i still think the big issue is lack of draw. hunter needs a later game refill, like lay on hands or sprint. it wouldn't be too OP if it couldn't hit until turn 7-8. something like that might even make secret hunter viable.
1.You cannot say that deadly shot is better then brawl because brawl has so many better scenarios. Brawl is also just an all around better card too. Deadly shot is the only good hard removal hunter that you are comparing it too.
2. Steamwheedle isn't standard but if a card similar was added would be good for hunter. Dreadscale, also wild, doesn't have an immediate effect which makes it pretty bad especially since hunter likes too have some board and can't kill taunts right away.
3.Explosive trap would be good if your opponent couldn't play around it and trade with your board and get high health minions.
4.Hunters other problem is that it lacks card draw which makes fan of knives much better card than explosive trap.
5. Hunter also doesn't have immediate board clear, maybe we are all underestimating crushing wall, but if they don't get a decent board clear they are not going to be able to make a viable control hunter.
6. Explosive shot and grievous bite just don't do it in the meta as we have seen over time. Also they need decent healing too life steal probably won't cut it.
if rogue can make do with single target removal -hunter can to. rogue has better tempo - which is what hunter needs. Hunter has better ability to go face than rogue.
Druid's Spreading Plague and Rogues Vanish are ways of dealing with a wide board which feel as if they fit the flavor of the class - rogue uses trickery to disappear opponents back off the board, while druid calls on nature to grow a taunt-wall. What they need to do is find a similarly "hunterish" answer to a wide board of relatively weak minions. I don't really see it yet, and am not sure exactly what form that would take.

Me? Gongaga.
Id love to run the sheep and was running it a while in my priest deck. But resurrecting it with nzoth is REALLY BAD

Druid has the worst board removal of any class. Even hunters have better board clears.

but rogues single removal is a lot better than hunters.
Aren't they getting this new powerful AE? It's called crushing dreams or something.

Did anyone play when combos like Leeroy Jenkins (4) + Starving Buzzard (2) Unleash the Hounds (2) fishing for Hunter's Mark (0) were played for 8 total mana? It was tilting as hell!
I agree that being stuck with beast synergy fast decks is annoying, but there are the giants and secrets, at least.

But hunter has arguably stronger minions. At least far less conditional ones. Rogue Decks tend to have a lot of neutral minions.
