Same here, never went higher than rank 3 and boy oh boy I had to grind to get there. I was on paternity leave at that time so I doubt I'll try for Legend again as it takes too much time for a normal human being
The highest I have ever been is Rank 15, but that is partly because A. I've never cared enough to proceed higher, and B. I wasn't aware at the time that there was a "stopper" on how far you could slide backward. Had I known Rank 15 was a stopping-point I would have felt more comfortable continuing forward, without fear that I would degrade back into 16+.
By the way, not to start a conflict or whatever, but your question is rather condescending.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
I was 1 star from legend back in TGT and the season ended 1 hour later. I lost the promotion match and was too tired to try again. I have reached rank 3 or 2 since then. But I usually lose my motivation after rank 5 because it just feels like a boring grind.
I reached r9 in the era of Midrange Shaman, but after I realised that the difference between r15 and r10 ladder reward is just a common golden card (50 dust), i deliberated that r15 is my target, and no real need nor feel to push further.
My main goal in HS is deckbuilding homebrews that reflect my playstyle and are thematically coherent (either to lore or to a theme I make up). r15 is enough to tell me that what I built was at least T3.
I've been playing since Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, and hit rank 15 for the first time last season.
I have trouble on Ranked mode mainly because I'm still having a hard time handling the intense pressure that comes with playing there. I was able to make strong Jade Druid, Pirate Warrior, and Evolve Shaman decks when Journey to Un'goro was active, but I would get emotionally exhausted after a few games and have to take a break. I've been getting better at handling myself emotionally as my collection grows and my experience increases, but my growth has been rather slow.
In short, I try to balance my desire to "have fun with the game" with my desire to "be good at the game," and it has been hard fitting raising my rank into that. I don't let it get me down, though, since success on Ranked mode comes as much from heavy time investment as it does from skill. I've never felt that I had to devote so much time to Ranked just for some golden cards and to prove myself a good player.
My best Rank ever was 4 when Midrange Paladin with Justicar Truehart and Double Quartermaster was a thing. The only Reason for getting Legend is the Cardback in my Opinion. And since i dont like that cardback there is no reason for me to trying it.
Right here. I never reached legend, I just climb as high as I can, get wrecked time and time again, get sad then go back to playing meme decks to make myself feel better.
Rank 5 EU, I think every opponent I face has a legendary card back. Maybe with a several exceptions. But hey, it is a double pleasure to win those type of rivals!
Highest I've ever reached was rank 4. I was really happy about that and ideally want to rank up to 5 every month but it's about once every three months that I actually accomplish that. I own my own business and love spending time with my son but also enjoy queuing up a few matches every evening. I like facing tough opponents and decks which is why I chose ladder over casual. Would I like to reach legend one month? Sure. Am I willing to sacrifice the other things I enjoy to reach legend? Nah. But I respect the hell out of players that do.
It's surprising but some people actually treat this as a game haha. Loads of people never hit legend because they play it on toilet breaks on their phone at work or play only occasionally. It's the same mentality as playing football, some people play once a week for fun and some go pro.
The difference between a rank 15 player and a legend player is several hundred dollars/pounds, nothing more.
I hit legend the first time playing on mobile having invested £4 into the game. Several big personalities have made entirely f2p accounts that have hit legend so that's not true.
A rhetorical question mind but I'm curious if there are people who earn less than €10.000 a month, or those who have never ran a marathon?
And if so, how can you stay motivated knowing you are less than I, someone who earns millions a year and who wins olympic medals every 4 years.
That's How it sounded to me OP... douchebag level 2000. Of course there are people who arent legend. Some people just play a couple of hours per week to kill time.
edit: apologies op, didnt see the line where you said you are rank 9 :) Thought this was another bragging thread. Time to get Some sleep
A rhetorical question mind but I'm curious if players exist that have never hit legendary or ever gotten close?
And do they get despondent? How do you keep motivated if so! Closest I've got is rank 9 but..reading comments in this place...That's not all good.
So how does one improve?
Golden Hero Collections thus far; -
Europe: Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior (9/9)
Americas: Druid, Mage, Paladin Shaman (4/9)
Everywhere else: Workin on it.. (0/9)
yes they do exist youvare one of them..
I have never had enough time :/ my best rank ever was rank 4, but that was like 2 years ago when zoolock dominated.

Usually the only difference between a rank 4 and legend, is that legend player played more
I've never hit legend before my best is rank 2 and I've been playing casual since launch.

My best rank was 14, and I'm not bad I'm just not a net decker and I'm not great, nor is my collection.

The highest I've reached was Rank 14 with pirate warrior cancer.
Other seasons I cant get past Rank 17.
Been playing f2p for 2 years
I once got close to legend, but it was such a toxic experience I doubt I try that unless I get a really really good streak.
Right now I just try to get to rank 10 playing whatever I find fun to play.
