I need some help. I just started playing hearthstone and I've been on that grind. I absolutely love this game and i think I'm addicted! I want to make a good mage deck because I just think I make decks that are pure trash. I don't really know how to make a good deck, but I have some pretty good cards like Aluneth. I need someones help making a good deck revolving around that card. I just downloaded this "Innkeeper" app thingy that lets you see my cards, so hopefully someone could take a look and help me out! P.S I also heard about crafting but I have no idea what to cards to destroy to make a good deck!
i suggest you try this deck from the link below. Tempo mage is very strong when you add alunete to the deck. But don’t craft anything from the old expansions ( Gadgetzan, old god, and karazhan). Since they will be rotated in 2 months. And if you don’t mind spending some money into the game, you should buy the welcome pack coz it’s very cheap compare to buying the pack normally.
I was about post same deck.. if you are low card budgeted try this tempo mage and switch some card for your mage weapon, it make a big difference in your games.. last month i went to r9 in 2 days with similar deck
You'll stop loving it after a month or two... Nah man jk, good to see new players still getting really sucked into the game, the Aluneth is an amazing weapon to get for free you can play a solid deck called tempo mage which is basically an aggresive mage build that like to cheat out a lot of secrets for free and has a lot of burn to kill the opponent faster, you could use this budget deck here:
That's my current build of tempo mage and it can easily take you to rank 5 and legend (But there's still a lot of time and grind for you to get there), Good luck with the game.
Holy F*k you guys are amazing! Great to see a community poppin with some really good people. I have this golden legendary that I unboxed but he's pretty useless so I guess i can destroy him to make that awesome looking Budget Tempo Mage Deck. You all literally responded in like 1 hour which I totally didn't expect.
Mind letting us know what legendary it is. because you never know if its actually can be good in another deck. But yeah.. 1600 dust would get you an instant tempo mage deck.
Hey man great to hear you are enjoying the game, like others have stated, try not to get any Old gods/ Gadgetzan or Kharazan packs (expansion for khara) as they do rotate out into wild in the next couple months. If you do wanna get some packs then I highly suggest only getting 10 each for that free legendary.
Don't know ifs anybody ells told you (or if it even works with the release of Kobolds), but if you go to solo adventure you can do the first mission of icecrown citadel for a free death knight card.
Hope you continue to enjoy the game... and that the death knight thing still works :D
If you are interested in saving your Hearthstone economy before you even get started, here is everything you need to know in order to optimize your economy:
Always nice to see someone new, Hearthstone has a way to capture your attention and hold it for a long time - even if we older players grew a bit tired of the grind, and staleness of the meta after the top decks are established etc.
I have a friend who also started playing only recently, a few months ago, and he hangs around ranks 20-10 (10 was his best) playing decks he can build...and, most importantly, enjoying himself! I built him a cheap zoolock, midrange/face hunter he could probably get to rank 5 with, but he rather plays his control/elemental Mage (without Ice Block etc. because he doesn't have them) and has a lot of fun! Ultimately, he's probably gonna learn more that way so once his collection gets bigger, he can play refined decks with more success :)
It's all probably been said, but OP, DO NOT disenchant cards you don't have 1 (legendary) or 2 (everything else) copies of (preferably at all, unless you just have to get that bit of dust to complete a deck) because in the long run, you're gonna regret it, trust me. Also, there are beginner's guides on completing one-time quests somewhere (like, getting 100 wins in ranked, getting to level 20 with all heroes and all that), that reward gold/packs etc. I'm f2p-ish, been playing since 2014. and I've only spent 5 euro on the Welcome Bundle (last year, to finish my class-legendary Classic collection) and it's great value - 2 legendaries (from which one is a guaranteed class legendary, if you're lucky you'll pull Tirion, VanCleef or Antonidas for that mage perhaps!) plus 49 other cards from the core set is a damn good deal so if you're not gonna buy anything else, buy that.
Other than that, play the Karazhan prologue, the fight with Lich King, open packs from all expansions until you get a legendary (then stop) since there is a guaranteed legendary in the first 10 packs from an expansion you didn't buy packs from previously...and, good luck have fun! :)
edit: 2 legendaries from the Welcome Bundle if you didn't open Classic packs, so probably only 1 unless you're lucky to hit the pity timer - but still, great value.
You will hate this game after 6-12 month I promise. It's unavoidable.
OP you will see a lot of this kind of comment, take it with a pinch of salt and you'll make up your own mind. I've been playing for about two and a half years now and still thoroughly enjoy it - full disclosure though I don't' try and push for the top levels and usually aim to place between 15 and 10.
Also not sure what your past CCG experience is but Hearthstone is not designed to be like Magic and is far more fast paced which you're clearly enjoying at the moment and hopefully for a long time to come. If you want to try something a bit different as well I can recommend Eternal. I enjoy both and they're very different playing experiences.
One tip though if you stop enjoying it I'd consider just stopping as you don't want to become as cynical and grumpy as us old forumites :)

just cut 1x Arcane Intellect and put it your free Aluneth and start saving up gold so you can transition to this more solid/ refined version:
That's my current build of tempo mage and it can easily take you to rank 5 and legend (But there's still a lot of time and grind for you to get there), Good luck with the game.

Welcome Floop :)
It's nice to be IMPORTANT,
But it's more important to be NICE!

You can't stop the signal.
You will hate this game after 6-12 month I promise. It's unavoidable.
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.
Hi! Good to see new players here!
Check out this thread, especially the list of neutrals at the bottom of the OP:

There is some debate about what is the best crafting strategy, but I think "fun" triumphs "perfect economy", so:
-De trash tier legendaries to make essential epics and rares.
-Dust golden cards, unless you would recraft the normal version right away.
-Dust unplayable epics, but research them well first!
-Do not bother dusting rares and commons.
