Your card must in some way interact with the position of minions on the battlefield. This can be through the use of the adjacency mechanic, or the 'opposite' mechanic, or even specifying positions like 'the rightmost' or 'the middle'.
We have whittled down ~170 valid entries to just 17 of the community's favorites. Check out all the finalists below and vote in our poll (vote for as many or as few as you like) to help decide the winner and be sure to check back after the poll finishes for the announcement of the winner and the start of a new theme! NOTE: Cards with a black border have additional material, like explanations or unique tokens, located in a spoiler at the bottom of the finalist gallery. They are listed in order of position in the final poll.
For everybody's information, today marks the start of a brand new kind of competition on Hearthstone: Deck Competitions! If you like our competitions but want to try out something more practically grounded, rather than speculative like we do here on the Fan Creation Forum, the Deck Competition over on the General Deck Building Forum might be worth checking out!
First, congratulations to all finalists! Second, Silverclaw is a token from Giz4Gamer's Fenris Wolfbrother, shown below.
It summons Silverclaw to his left and Snowhide to his right
And third, although nothing can't be done about it, Murozond_18's Jandice Barov should have been on there. He didn't plagiarize it. It true, I have seen his notebooks from 2015.

It's fine, if the mods think that I copied it then I did. I tried convincing them after they sent me a PM, and all that was sent back was an old card submission from one of the earlier CDC seasons
Aww man. Number 20, not bad for a first try, but still slightly disapointing. Guess i may make it next time. Congratz to Aeson88, Toble and Livienna for making it to the finals, guess i will root for you guys instead :)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,
Aside from Magic Curtain, which is obviously my favorite, here are my top 3 and bottom 3. I’m voting for everything in the top 3. (Glad to see so many from page 2 make it, although I really would have preferred to see Edwyn in here too)
LIKES
Ancient Pillar: Bolf for minions. Seems like it would have lots of fun interplay with buff cards and heals. Great cards inspire deck ideas and I could see priest desks built around this card, just endless buffing the health of the pillar to keep adjacent minions safe. I always prefer to vote for a card that inspires new archetypes, as opposed to cards that just support the existing cookie cutter decks.
Big Little Tough Guy: I’m a sucker for a card with good flavor that also manages to be balanced. I like the idea of this little runt that just hides behind his larger buddies. Played on turn 2, he most likely won’t be able to use his effect. Played later in the game, he’s a tempo loss but punishes your opponent for letting you build a board. Good design, good story, good finalist.
Drunken Patrons: This card made me laugh so it gets a vote. I’m not sure what deck I would ever use this in but it is certainly creative
DISLIKES
Fenris Wolfbrother: I was surprised to see the sudden voting surge for this card. According to the author’s post in the submission thread, the two wolves drop on either side of Fenris, meaning Fenris is a 3/3 when played and each wolf is a 2/2. So to recap, there are 7/7 total stats spread across three minions and two of the minions have valuable beast tags and the minions buff the entire board. And all of this costs only 5 mana? This is one of the most brokenly OP cards I have seen make the finals in a while.
Kylanda: I actually really like the concept of the card but it also seems OP to me. It just doesn’t seem that hard for a shaman to have two totems on the board by turn 4 and the last thing agro shaman needs now is a turn 4 5/6 with taunt and no drawbacks. I would have much preferred if the effect was not a battlecry, meaning the buff went away if either totem was killed.
Avalanche: This is a cool concept for a card and I really liked it when it was called Killing Spree and won in week thirteen of season 4. This version does one more damage, costs two more mana, and potentially recycles the card but it’s still a little too similar to the prior winner for my tastes.
Honorable Mention: I have no clue who came up with the Jandice Barov card first or whether its submission in this contest was plagiarism. Regardless, whoever had the idea first should be commended. That was a very cool card concept.
I really like a lot of the cards this week... I think it's testament to the creativity brought on by mechanical prompts such as this that there were this many different interpretations of such a seemingly simple prompt. Kudos to the prompt-maker, and especially to all the finalists!
Today in my free brawl pack I got Barongeddon, then I had a cup of fresh green tea. As a result of that, I think Priest is OP because my keyboard is not a mechanical one. I hope Blizzard will address this issue.

Do note- after killing one of the wolves, the other two lose a stat point, and after killing the remaining wolf, Fenris loses another stat point. So it's closer to a 5 mana 5/6 then it is to a 7/7... Though I have to agree, the aura and the beast tags make me think it should be 6 mana. Also, do you remember the overstatted finalist from 3 weeks back that gave a Reno heal without the deck restriction, on top of a Justicar effect? Yeah, that one, here. This card is the pinnacle of balance compared to that.

Thanks man! :) Hard luck on not making it to the final!
Congrats to Toble and Livienna too!
Thanks for the awesome review above Toble :)
And of course good luck to all the other finalists :)
Ancient Pillar: An excellent effect on a flavorful card. It would really help classes to play big minions in a somewhat safer way.
Anarchy: A card that would certainly lead to a lot of fun moments and Trolden/Rage Orc clips! Also board clear for Rogues? Yes please!
Multiplython: A nice effect with a good flavor that fits Hunter very well. I'm not sure about the "at the end of the turn" part though. Did I miss something? Would this card allow some broken OTK if the tokens were summoned immediately?
Big Little Tough Guy: An excellent card for "swarm" decks that tries to win by taking control of the board. It could have been a fully neutral card rather than a Grimy Goon one imo but it would nonetheless greatly help Paladin and Hunter, and they really need some help right now.
Starlight Totem cuz it's mine, so of course it's good.
Honorable mentions:
Timid Jungle Cub: With this kind of art it could just have been another cute but broken card. However the card itself is also solid. However it's probably OP (I'd rather have made it a 1/2).
Sundering: The flavor is awesome and the concept is excellent, but I think that at 3 mana the card is broken, even with the overload, even with the two-sided effect.
Magic Curtain: A nice concept, but too easy to play around I'm afraid.
Fork: The concept is nice but the card is too vague. What does the effect do exactly? Does it move a minion left? You can't target twice so I suppose it is the case.

Thank you! And yes, there was a specific reason. Tundra Rhino + Multiplython + any low cost Beast (say Alleycat, or even just a second Multiplython) would allow you to clear your opponent's board (so long as they had at least 3 Attack minions) since the Multiplythons would keep summoning each other.
It would also mean two Multiplython next to each other (on the right side of the board) would be impossible to remove, like lower cost, better statted Dreadsteeds with beast synergy (which is better than Demon synergy in general). So to avoid those balancing issues - I didn't want to raise the mana cost or worsen the stats - I just had them summon at the end of the turn instead.

No love for my card, Toxibrah? :P
Also, don't feel too bad, you made a nice one, I'm sure you'll do fine in the future!
Drunken Patrons: This card made me laugh so it gets a vote. I’m not sure what deck I would ever use this in but it is certainly creative
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it ^^ ...and I'm pretty sure I won't do that well because the card isn't "useful" in the current state of the game, but I always liked to include Silence minions in my control decks tbh; don't see why this wouldn't spark up a completely new Warrior archetype, or even improve the existing ideas with cards like buff cards! :)

Again, no love for my card? ccc :P
It's kinda unexpected to me, we killed it from page 2 it seems! Congrats all :)
As for the cards, I kinda like Multyplython, Big Little Tough Guy and Tornado the most, might give some more votes, but these are my favourites for now :)

Lots of cool and unique designs, but Kylanda is by far my favourite. I also voted towards Evolving Rager because it's a nicely flavourful card.
