The master and what he has summoned all die to dragon fire potion. That’s too much loss.
That is not entirely true. 3/9s don't die to dragonfire for instance.
Except there are not so many 3/9s.
It's partly why it's tool to put into a carefully constructed deck. Also it doesn't have to be a 3/9, just something with more than 5 health (or a dragon). And in any case, my point was that not everything this summons dies to Dragon fire. That still stands. Most things, sure but not everything. In fact I feel like this is a card where you are specifically aiming for cards that won't die to it or that if they do you still get some value out of.
Nah, that card is extremely limited in scope and actually more conditional than people expected.
If you build your deck right, Master Oakheart will fetch a completely predictable suite of minions tailored to your deck's needs. In most cases, it will be a 5/5 with three beefy taunts in tow. There's nothing disappointing about that.

Yeah, I really think this card will find a home in at least one competitive deck. I'm thinking Warrior is the most likely as you can Dead Man's Hand any important pieces that you draw before t9. The question is: does Warrior survive in a meta with Jade Druid (the more oppressive anti-aggro tools of Razakus don't really look like they'll matter then Warrior can armor out of range of the deck)?
i just don't see this card being playable. you have to live til turn 9 to play a severely under-statted minion so that you can hope you haven't drawn the other severely under-statted minions you're hoping to recruit from it...and in the more ambitious dragonhatcher, etc plans, the minions you're hoping to recruit from the under-statted minions recruited by your under-statted minion...let me repeat, this is by turn 9, when you'll have gone through roughly half your deck already, and that's if you haven't drawn any additional cards, so the chances you've drawn the minions are pretty damn high. this is akin to the gimmick decks that only ran barnes with y'shaarj or blood of the ancient one, except even less likely to work because in those scenarios you only had to draw barnes without drawing the other by turn 4. although master oakheart on his own is worse than barnes when he whiffs, the master oakheart decks are probably (?) less bad as a whole than the gimmick barnes decks because they're likely to be running other minions even if they're non-recruitable or not your preferred recruit targets, so there's that, i guess...
maybe some of you are high-roll gods that always draw exactly what you want when you want, but some of us aren't so lucky. i'll be floored if this sees ANY play in a competitive deck

Or you can run this card in a pretty standard warlock deck and always build a decent board with the potential to pull voidlord or rin. You can also run it in hunter with tundra rhino as your only 2 attack creatures and do some fun things without going too much out of your way.
Recruit has to be the most worthless mechanic I've ever seen. 9 mana card that requires you to have a lot of 3 2 and 1 drops to have value? Yeah, no thank you.
ehr yeah, this is how a game with recruit works btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqXNx9AwdzQ&t=108s, it's actually one of the most powerful mechanics in a card game but don't worry one day you'll stop being a worthless total noob.

I have no idea what is happening in that video you just posted lol.
In any event I agree. Also @esshikyo it's 1, 2 and 3 ATTACK minions, not cost. That detail alone is freaking huge.
This can actually be worthwhile in all sorts of control decks. I mean getting a Voidwalker, Vulgar Homunculus, Voidlord on turn 9 along with a 5/5 body is some serious taunt-wall that can potentially come back on turn 10 with Bloodreaver Gul'dan.
this was my thought, exactly. going to build a deck around it. probably throw zola in there too, just because.
this is literal Box of friends or Deepsea Diva and those cards literally broke yugioh during their prime hile looking very inconsecuential (Particularly box of friends)...so yes...it's a really powerful card
This card might be good in some like mid range taunt druid. Though I doubt that'll be better than big druid or jade druid.
I can see this pulling out hadronox, dragon hatcher, and tar creaper. Then the dragon hatcher pulls out deathwing dragonlord. a 12/12, 2 9 drops, a 3 drop and a 5/5 seems decent for 9 mana. Seems more l ike a meme than a meta deck though.
I can also see this pulling a Void Lord, Tar Lurker, and a dirty rat.
Then there's tar lord, ally armor smith, with a vicious fledgeling behind it mehehehe. The mems are endless.
Master "Oakheart"? Is this an inside joke? Is he The Real Oakheart? or The Corrupted Oakheart? Is he like Oz from The Wizard of Oz? So many unanswered questions. Pls Explain!
This card dont have too pull crazy card combo to be good. For example in Control Warrior, it only need to pull Armorsmith, Bloodhood Brave/Alley Armorsmith and the HAtching to be good . It like playing a 5 drop, 2 drop , 4 drop taunt , 5 drop taunt and draw 3 cards for mere 9 mana. It can compare to UI , you dont have the 5 damage and 5 Armor and draw 1 less card but you have much more tempo with massive board spam and the taunt protect your face anyway for 1 mana cheaper.
I would say it's playable at best...I don't really understand the hype about this card. It's a 9 mana 5/5,you probably won't have many good 1,2,3 attack minions in your deck when you get to play it and most classes will have no trouble clearing the board afterwards anyway! For 9 mana I want a card to have a bigger impact than filling the board with trash! In my opinion it could only work under very specific circumstances.

This is single best recruit minion in the set. Nuff said.
Have you forgotten about the Hunter Legendary? She is the best recruit minion in the set. This one is just to strict with the regulations. Getting him late, means, that you barely have anything to recruit. With the Hunter Legendary you surely will have some beasts left.
Except hunter can't make a cantrol deck which means she is useless
As paladin main I will test him with Bolvar, Fireblood + Wickerflame Burnbristle + Blackguard
or
Drakkari Enchanter + Benevolent Djinn +Blackguard
Meet Don Han'Cho of the expansion...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Katherina is good card, but she's Hunter only. Oakheart is neutral, plus you literally can choose what exactly you want to get.
