I fully expect to see a Paladin spell that gives all friendly minions divine shield.
I hope this really doesn't happen Divine shield is really pain in the ass it protects your minion from damage spells + it trades for free and worst part of it is it will protect Murlocs! it would be a next level of cancer.
Not sure if someone else mentioned this already, but this card would have been really solid if it started out as a 2/4 instead of a 1/4. But then again, I thought The Caverns Below was going to be the worst quest in Un'Goro, so what do I know.
It looks like Blizzard is pushing for a divine shield Paladin, so the card could surprise.
I can just see it now, someone plays this card, has a bunch of divine shield minions on board, buffs the weapon up to say 8 damage, next turn opponent plays Acidic Swamp Ooze, the pain.

You do not truly know someone, until you fight them.....

As for Arena and what not even if you get a single bubble a 2/4 weapon for 4 mana ain't awful, it's basically on par with Assassin's Blade it will be decent for controlling the board. I think Assassin's Blade has a tier score around 53/100 so this weapon will be the same pending a bubble pop.
There will be some ridiculous videos of this weapon. But it won't see play without some serious help, and even if they make divine shield Paladin a thing I don't see this making the cut.
How the hell people think this is bad? Trade 2 divine shield minions and you already have Assassin's Blade for 1 mana less, which is really good, and anything above that is just nuts.
And as we see, Divine Shield is main Paladin theme in this expansions, that means that we will get even more sinergy with unseen new Paladin cards, along with already existing Paladin Divine Shield cards, there can be some realy crazy potential for Divine Shield Paladin deck.
Whens the last time you popped two of your own divine shields on turn 4? That's why people think it's bad. It could be good if we see A LOT of good divine shields soon. We're seeing the synergy with divine shields, but not actually any good minions that have them.
Potentionally extremely strong, but also very slow on the turn it comes down, so it's not very useful in an aggro meta (unless the Divine Shield deck is just naturally good against aggro). It also gets destroyed by Harrison Jones which is already a viable card to run in the current meta.
The biggest problem is that it's a 4-cost card, a slot which is already occupied by several key cards in Paladin like Truesilver and Consecration.
But if you overcome the downsides of the card, then it can potentially end the game by itself, much like Doomhammer. I think this may become one of the most feared cards of the expansion, or it will be completely unplayable, we'll see.
I'm not in the camp that thinks this card is bad, but it will almost certainly be a 1-of in decks that can support it unless literally everyone is running ooze, in which case 2 will be a must. It has too much durability and therefore takes at least 4 turns to get the most value out of it, and that makes running other weapons tricky at the very least.
At the same time, you're running a lot of Divine Shield minions. A well-constructed early game plan with Divine Shield minions is very hard to overcome if Shielded Minibot has shown us anything, so if you end up dropping this on turn 4, you're almost certainly going to have board control by that point even if your Divine Shields have already been popped. There are very few scenarios where you either don't have a dominant early board or a buffed Light's Sorrow for the simple fact that your opponent will be desperately popping as many Divine Shields as they can to make your weapon worse, which means expended resources and/or poor trades. If they don't, even a 3/4 weapon cleans up a weary board very nicely (and your minions are making free trades to boot).
If a Divine Shield early game comes together, this weapon is probably the best payoff the deck could ask for. Sleeper hit of the set.
Would really like divine shield themed decks to be viable, let's hope for the future reveals (maybe with a divine shield giving hero power for Lich King Paladin).

Can someone confirm that the effect only takes place after equiping it?
Effects that happen in hand would explicitly state they happen while in your hand. The original Bolvar had this text; however, the new Bolvar and this card have no such text. Therefore, their effects only trigger while they're in play.
Hmm, imo the card is broken OP and I'll elucidate why:
Sure, playing a 4 mana 1 attack weapon is very weak, BUT we're all making a big subconsious misconception of comparing the breaking of divine shields with deathrattle, that's why we inheritily assume that the card is really bad. But after passing that thought, we remember that divine shields break VERY VERY easily and with the right minions, VERY VERY often. You can SO EASILY make this a 6/4 weapon in 2-3 turns, 1 if you're lucky or your opponent misplays, ESPECIALLY in paladin, the class that has MANY divine shield cards, not to mention cards that haven't been revealed yet!
This card is absolutely broken, and unless we enter a meta where everyone plays multiple weapon removing cards, this card will be top tier.

So, so very, very bad.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
Harrison Jones, Acidic Swamp Ooze and Gluttonous Ooze food. I feel Ooze meta incoming with all the new weapon cards
2 Truesilver champions plus 5/3 Ashbringer...why even go for such a conditional expensive weapon?

Only time this weapon will ever work is in Wild running aggro with Steward of Darkshire, Muster for Battle, Lost in the Jungle, Shielded Minibot etc.

this challenge Poisoned Blade to be the worst weapon in the game

Although this is a 4-Mana card, it is clearly not intended to be played on turn 4.
There are many, many, many examples of good cards that do not get played exactly on curve.
