The viability of this cards depends almost entirely on the remaining elemental synergies that have not yet been revealed. Thus far none of the synergies have wowed me, but I'm sure there are plenty to come.
Would you play a 3 Mana 1/2 minion that did 2 damage? Probably Not.
This is just a filler card to fuel Elemental Syngeries later... so Mage will need to have a Big Value elemental card to justify banking a 1 mana elemental charge (which is how i see this card)
Yep, nobody ever played Argent Horserider... : /
2/1 + Divine Shield and Charge for 3 Mana >>> 2 damage + Vanillia 1/2 body for 3 Mana (and before you contest my vanilla statement please read the rest of my post)
On its own, this seems like a fairly mediocre burn/removal tool, but based on the elemental synergy so far, this seems like a really nice way to get cheap activators for threading into a turn.

argent horserider is mainly an aggro tool or used on frindge divine shield paladin decks, the point is that it's a hard to remove minion which gets board control if anything this is comparable to dicipline of C'thunwhich is a good card so depending on the mage elemental cards this is a good card.
A fairy is a 1/1 for 1 PP(mana) token which haves synergy in the class.
This is also a good card cause it lets you divide the value of the card in 2 turns and let you play it entirely on turn 3, save the token for later, or play it on 2, same reasoning why this card is good, flexibility and synergy, of course it's 2 different games but still.
Could be really good if elementals are going to be a thing. This card is so easy to use that if elemental mage is a thing, this card will be in it for sure. Looking forward to see more cards.
It is better, be able to cause 2 damage in turn 2 is much better than turn 3, you can kill the 3/2 minion opponent coined in your first turn, 1/2 and 2/1 are equal, the first trades bad the second die for a ping.
I like this card. it is priced correctly, dealing 2 damage is worth 1 mana and the 1/2 elemental is worth 1 mana and because it is an elemental it will help with synergy with other elementals. The card is balanced, but it seems like any new cards get hated on here unless it is blatantly OP as hell. I like balanced cards like this. We need more balanced cards, not overpowered stupidity, look what happened in the last expansion with pre nerf small time buccaneer and jade idol.

To those saying the Mage quest will be summoning elementals, I think that suggestion is patently wrong:
If any class's quest will be "Summon X elementals", it will be Shaman.
Shaman has many elemental cards (Earth ele, Fire ele, Fireguard Destroyer, Stone Sentinel, unbound elemental, rumbling elemental, dust devil), and are known as a class which is "Master of the Elements". "May the Elements/Elephants destroy you." Thrall. etc. Mage only has Water ele, Pyros, and this spell.
Additionally, there IS a secret synergy card being released for mages this expansion, and Blizz has been trying to push the Secret archetype for the last few expansions. Also, Mages and Secrets are much more core in theming and playstyle. Mages aren't a minion class as much as Shamans are. Mages are a spell class.
Therefore, something like "Play 5 secrets", awarded with X, is much more likely for Mage quest.

The problem is there are a lot of blatantly OP one and two drops. A 1/2 tribal card is an unplayably bad one drop without a blatantly OP card to benefit off of it.
People judge cards against what is in the game and with 2/2 tribal cards and 1/3 cards that can grow plus all the other powerful one drops a 1/2 is not good.
Blizzard needs to clean out the one and two drops either by massive patch changes or by not printing any actually good ones for a year.
Not as good as jade lightning......mage quest will probably be summoning elementals so it will have a purpose. I feel as though firelands portal is better though, this will see play though it has definite value.

When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get some Coronas!
I'll run 2 Flame Geyser, 2 Frostbolt, 2 Polymorph, 1 Forbidden Flame, 1 Volcanic Potion, 2 Firelands Portal, and 2 Flamestrike as the removal suite in my Control Mage come rotation. Whether or not Fireball is also run depends on the creatures and whether or not it might be better to slot more midrange creatures in for tempo control. I'm fairly confident either Mage or Neutral will be getting a good, playable 3 drop elemental to follow after Pyros.
new mage staple spell. nothing too flashy but will make it into most lists imho.

This card is a definition of boring. Will see play depending on the other elemental cards, 2 dmg is nothing.

verry meta dependant card if metas full of 3/2s this is great if its 2/3s everyywere this card s useless.

Shaman version:
Add the elemental to play. Overload 1.
Warlock version:
Add the elemental to play. It's a demon. Destroy one of your mana crystals.
Rogue version:
Combo: Add a random elemental (from your opponent's class) to your hand.
Also, it costs 3.

what? a mage common that isn't completely insane in arena? someone got fired over this.
ehhhh seems kind of weak unless there is some kind of good/consistent elemental synergy with mage
probably the most skill-based card we have seen, not an auto include in every deck, requires thought to play and is number based not gimmick based.

Losing Azure Drake will certainly hurt, but Bloodmage Thalnos is still around.
Not sexy, but will be useful, especially with Arcane Blast rotating out.
