Warrior has been due to be the worst class of the meta.. so this is expected until the next expansion or upcoming rotation
on the other side, Druid is really due to be the next worst class of the meta. However, looking at the class new cards, Druid seems to survive its due time for another 1-2 expansions
How in the world is Druid going to be next worst class? Have you seen his new weapon, it is busted as all hell.
Druid might become bad in the next expansion, as stuff will rotate out and Blizz will deliver a late and stupid punishment, like they do with Shaman now. After Kun, Jade Shit and Medivh rotate, without anything new and solid Druid will either become a quirky ramp, or mindless aggro. Not that it's an intelligent and skillful class atm...
It's not though? N'Zoth Warrior, C'Thun Warrior, Quest Warrior and Dead Man's Hand Warrior are still a thing.
But they lack representation due to it being heavily outclassed by Rogue (Tempo), Druid (Jade, Token), Priest (Big, Highlander, Dragon), and Mage (Exodia). Warrior is alive, but just forgotten.
If it's forgotten and outclassed, then it's currently not alive. Quest Rogue is still listed as a Tier 5 deck, which show someone is still playing it, hell, I've even met C'Thun Mages. That doesn't mean those are "alive" decks, all have terrible win%'s and struggle hard.
I don't see Warrior getting back up any time soon. And that's a shame, because I really like the class. Absolutely loved Dragon Warrior and C'Thun Control Warrior :(

The weapon isnt busted at all. A 4 mana 1/5 weapon is a shit tempo play and it takes 5 swings just to get the deathrattle out. That is, if you dont get blocked by a huge taunt you dont wanna hit.
As for the dream scenario of ramping up, dropping this and then medivh and then UI, what are the odds of drawing these cards together? Next to nothing if you ask me. By the time you get it UI will draw you into fatigue almost.
Also, the weapon can be easily countered with removal. You just wait until druid is at like 8 mana with 1 durability left and you break it so they dont get the refresh. The weapon is bad.
Druid is definitely going to suck next rotation. Blizzard is typically a little harsh on overperforming classes come the next cycle, I'd be very surprised if they're as good as they have been for a while again. (and the weapon, whilst I love it, isn't THAT good yet)
I'd expect Priest to be slapped around a bit too, but then they just got an incredible dragon so. It's time Warrior got some love again, and Shaman, and Hunter.
E : Control Warrior, specifically. I miss Shieldmaiden.
It's sad that warrior has declined in use, especially control variants.
A few days a go I was playing a Dead Mans hand cycle Cthun list on ladder. Was really fun but the winrate was pretty poor. Shame really, I do miss good ol' control warrior.
I'm with OP, I've always hated Warrior as a class. Either they were the grindiest control deck, or the face-est aggro deck, never in the middle.
Thats straight out wrong, warrior had 2 big midrange/combo tier 1 decks: dragon warrior and patron warrior.
Dragon Warrior was a total face deck. Twilight Guardian was only in there for the extreme value of the card itself and Dragon synergy.
Patron was definitely midrange, I'll give you that, but at the time it was like a win on turn 7 deck which was pretty unheard of at the time for midrange.

Still, nothing is as bad as Priest. For a long time, Warrior took the cake, but now that Priest is actually good, it's really intolerable. The only reason why I haven't quit yet is because Druid and Rogue are at the top.
Before everyone cries to me about being a Druid player, I've always been a Druid main, even when they were in the dumpster (Rogue too), so just keep it to yourself. You may like playing Priest and Warrior, but I enjoy Rogue and Druid. Agree to disagree.
When was Druid ever "in the dumpster"? Druid has been Tier 1 since the beginning. Pre-Old Gods had pre-nerf Force of Nature+Savage Roar Druid, one of the longest cancers ever in Hearthstone. Old Gods had C'Thun Druid, strong but not cancerous, but boring. Then we have Token Druid and Jade Druid since Mean Streets.
"In the dumpster" might have been a bit dramatic, but they haven't always been tier 1. When FoN got nerfed, aggro/tokens wasn't all that strong afterwards, until Old Gods brought C'Thun which also wasn't tier 1. Karazhan meta aka Shamanstone and PWstone was absolutely disgusting for Druids. Druids finally got a bone tossed to them with Jades is MSG, the first since the FoN nerf (pretty long time). Look, I'm not a fan of the way the made Jades infinite, I think it took the game in a bad direction, but it is what it is and Druid (and Rogue) is my favorite class so I play what's good. However, Druids have not "been tier 1 since the beginning" at least not for the whole duration as you implied (and sloppily listed C'Thun Druid in the tier 1 conversation).
Wasn't Yogg Druid pretty good in the Karazhan meta ? Not Midrange Shaman good, but still...
I suppose, but it was a coin flip deck. 50/50 for Yogg to kill you or win you the game. He was nerfed promptly anyway. Shouldn't have ever been a top tier deck, and Blizzard recognized this by nerfing Yogg. Admittedly, the deck was still pretty good post-nerf, but definitely conceded to Shamans and PW.

I miss being able to play warrior, NZoth warrior is one of my favorite decks but it sucks right now. But I do think it’s fair for every class to spend some time at the bottom. Personally I think a class sucking for 1-2 expansions max is fine.
I’m really done with 1 year or more of a class being terrible though. We’ve been through this with shaman and priest in the past, and now Hunter is getting the same treatment. When will Blizzard learn...

The thing is, when you draw the dream combo, you just win the game, which is pretty good, but if you don't all of those cards are very good at least on their own, and even if you ooze/harison the weapon, congrats, I have a whole EZ Big EX deck for you to beat

Almost every hunter card since undertaker nerf has been slapped with 1 more mana to its cost.
Sorry, but this is S-tier bullshit.
Since undertaker nerf, facehunter was tier1 both in GvG(Glaivezooka) and BRM (it got best burn spell in this game - Quick Shot).
And was able to make midrange deck due to how fast everything was, up to the point they plain out nerfed most cards facehunter and midrange hunter use.
If they did rotate classes - they did it extremely bad. My guess - they don't do that, just try not to add synergetic cards to tier1 decks, and focus on delivering new experiences instead of focusing on hero powerlevel balance.

LOL, Druid was one of my main classes too (a long time ago), but I stopped playing with it when it become cancerous as f...k thanks to the jade mechanic. Why? Because I have a great sense of honor, something that you probably don't, and that my friend is a real shame.
Interesting how many people display dislike for playing against decks whose strategy simply requires you to properly play around cards and optimize use of your resources. I find that strange... For me, I prefer a million times to play against those decks, since I can myself decide the outcome of the game with my plays, than against decks where I'm limited to drawing correctly in the first 2 to 3 turns in order to be able to survive and contest the game. That is mostly because I cannot control the order in which I draw my cards, so I have lower influence in the outcome of the game, whereas if the first case, my optimized play influences the game.
You've answered your own question. The utter predictability of Control Warrior is what makes it so unpleasant. Every single game is a drawn-out slog, trudging toward the same inevitable conclusion. No surprises, no thinking required. Just the same old optimized resource management we've all seen a million times. I'm yawning just thinking about it.

yes..and playing against keleseth, bonemare and scalebane in every game is completly different...
Me😃. I have always had a hard time with the Warrior meta. I’ve always thought that they should be big hulking tanks that are always in a fight. But the cards they have are more techy or about just building armour. Has always felt wrong.

This is the type of deflection commonly used by a certain orange politician we all know and love. Pointing out something else's flaws does not mitigate the flaws of the thing that was actually being discussed.
I didn't say there were no other boring decks, archetypes, metas or playstyles. He wondered why Control Warrior, specifically, was hated, and I answered that question.
Moreover, Control Warrior has played more or less the same since the beginning of time. The cards you mentioned are new to this meta, at least.
I've no clue what I'm doing...
That's Incredible!

Priest is way more annoying. Any iteration of it, really.
