Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find decent dark Hunter art? Regardless, I found my first idea. I will have others (probably), but I call dibs on this.
I chose odd for Hunter because of the amount of 3-drops it has (haha), and this would be another one. It's a Deadeye effect for Constructed with a 1 mana 3/3 body attached to it, though it requires your deck to be full of odd-Cost cards. Could an odd-Cost Control Hunter become a real thing with this card.
Worth noting that this effect actually does work with the upgraded Hero Power given by Baku the Mooneater, Ballista Shot. This actually might be too OP.

This is what I have for now; same idea, two iterations:
I'm concerned the desired archetype - Even C'Thun - is too restrictive, but I was looking to avoid the expected directions people will consider. When you're looking to be different, think of C'Thun!
"C'Thun Battlecries" is supposed to mean all C'Thun-related cards such as Beckoner of Evil, not just C'Thun, but explaining that in full on the card is difficult. Maybe it would be good enough just affecting C'Thun.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
Haha... funny I made this a few weeks ago as well:
Though that didn't do too well that week... so maybe I'll think of something else.
You're gonna have to think of something else, as that card does not count for this theme :(
The theme's not about an odd or even number in general, but rather specifically the "if your deck has only odd/even-Cost cards" mechanic, as seen in the six new Witchwood cards.

Alright, here's some half baked ideas for this week, I just thought about trying to make even/odd related names, and I think these are okay for now. Feedback please. (I had trouble finding art for An Odd Duck and the Quack token, so they aren't permanent.
I don't like this. It basically destroys any chance even and odd decks have at being viable before they even reach the game. True Baku and Genn activate regardless, but the other four will still be effected by this.

Not sure about this... Part of the fairness to Sir Finley Mrrgglton was that you might not draw him—you could use him to supplement a deck, but not base a deck around him. With this, you get a guaranteed new, cheaper hero power. Aggro decks getting cheap hunter, mage or warlock to start is a scary thought. No counter.

I see, I did think this would be the case. Thanks for the pointing that out.

My Entry for this week's Card Design Competition - Season 8.16:
Note: Odd-cost deck cannot play Preparation, so please keep that in mind to evaluate Witwood's Shadow.
Is Shifty Fox supposed to keep going until you draw an odd-Cost card? If so, it should say "repeat this Battlecry", like Lord Godfrey. If it's only supposed to draw 2, then I don't know how to make that clearer unfortunately.
Uh, did you forgot that Conceal exists? I don't know if giving your hero Stealth alone is worth 6 mana. Valeera the Hollow also gives you Armor and a new Hero Power, yet it's still a wonky card to play because it takes 9 mana for no immediate board impact. It only prevents face damage.

Gave a Baku-oriented Control Warrior a tool to get rid of those pesky Murlocs early on due to a lack of cards like Blood Razor and Sleep with the Fishes. It's also a twist on the classic Raging Worgen card. At its best, the card can clear two minions that don't quite go down to the usual 1-damage board clear. The Windfury makes it versatile, being able to clear a small Taunt in addition to a board threat or a Divine Shield minion all in one turn.
Back on time for a competition! Here's what I got so far
If I'm not mistaken these would count, as I asked wether effects that would interact with even/odd costed cards qualified and Tox replied: "As long as it specifically mentions Odd/Even, then sure. Go ahead." See above.
Woodland's Call: If you can get to control this, you can draw a bunch of cards. It fits the new archetype of hand-druid the devs are shooting for this expansion, too.
Blazing General: A more controlled discard card. Also, it benefits greatly from Even-cost-only decks, as it will discard nothing.
General Odefang: This is a more brainstormed type of card. The idea is it can get you early drops at the start of the game if you construct the deck well enough with odd-costs.
Thoughts? I'll be giving feedback back. Also, I'll be doing a quick review of page 1 so far.

General Odefang doesn't work the way you think it does. Start of Game effects (like Prince Malchezaar, but also the two even/odd Legendaries) activate after the mulligan, so by the time the effect has activated, you're already past the mulligan and the "You can't mulligan" part of the text is negated.
The other two are alright though. I think Blazing General is my favorite because it puts control into your discards. It makes it more likely to discard a Silverware Golem which is nice. Although as an unintended side-effect, it also makes it more likely that you'll discard cards like Blood-Queen Lana'thel (it's not like most Discolocks even play this, but that's neither here nor there), Doomguard or the Nether Portal spell from Lakkari Sacrifice.
This is the Discussion Topic. The Submission Topic will go up in ~24 hours.
