And you don't need skill to 'slave' to a well written deck guide - which I tried to "take myself out of the equation."
This is your problem. You think it is not because of you when it clearly is. If you cannot even beat basic-card-decks with your netdeck-cards that are power creeping over all of them there must be something you are doing wrong.
Trading, defending, switching to face anticipating, calculating odds ... you really think its the same people that go to legend and tournaments and the same people that are stuck before rank 15 is because there is no skill element in the game?? I am not saying luck isn't involved but over the course of hundreds of games you will end up where your skill allows you to.
I would suggest approaching the game differently. maybe start building your own decks ( that you know of but never played) to start understanding what the core strategies of some decks are. After 30+ games, look up the actual decklist, look at the differences and try to understand why these differences are impactful for the winrate of the deck, and why they fail if this is not leveraged to the max.
Imo, decks like freeze mage, anyfin pally and pirate warrior (yeah yeah, easy deck right? but the design is beautiful and winrates differ quite between players) are beautiful examples of this. They have very clear objectives, very few cards that can be exchanged and very specific strategies. if you cant ladder with these decks to rank 15 its because you dont execute their strategy correctly. you should certainly be able to pilot plenty of decks to rank 10 each season without too much effort just because of the bonus stars.

posted a message on Jade Idol - NERF

Calling for the nerf!! We all know it will happen sooner or later, so lets just get it over with so we can enjoy a new expansion.

Card is the definition of broken and has too much effect on the meta

And still you get it wrong!!

You don't get full disenchant values, just normal which as stated before, is 400 for a normal legendary and 1600 for a golden. So not 12800 dust but 9600: 6400 for the hall of fame refund and 2x 1600 for disenchanting

posted a message on Well what did you think of The Year of The Kraken?

Well I think the Old gods were absolutely great. A lot of variety and different experiences but then they broke the game beyond repair. For me the year of the kraken stands for a giant reduction in game variety and pleasure. I have been playing for over two years and the last 6 months is just incredibly lame. I really enjoy wild but since nowadays you can just lift a standard deck without any wild cards over there and be competitive just goes to show how terrible the presence of OP aggro decks can be. I have no problems with old school aggro but I went to wild cause I like games to last for more than 4 turns.

We have to face another year of Shaman having excess to the best early game removal and superb midrange cards that will not rotate out. Also the Jade presence will keep control decks in a though spot since after turn 10 you basically need a board clear every turn. Druid is of course the biggest offender but shamans have excellent jade curves and rogues have much potential with Nzoth in a slower meta. The only way they could ever counter this problem is by printing OP cards, which is a bad solution, or rework the Jade mechanic which I don't see happening.

So yeah, the only thing I see happening is fast decks to counter Jades in revived face hunters or something like that. a dreadful outlook if you ask me. I think the legendary quest cards are a great idea but I dont see room for them to shine. But still, I am hopeful that I am wrong and the year of the mammoth will crush the year of the kraken.

posted a message on Want to have a good time again? tired of Standard? try this Wild deck

    LOL

Stupidest thing happened to me. Somewhere in january this year I decided to craft 2 dreadsteed cards. I found them appealing and I was bored so why not, right? 5 days later they announced standard, meaning Baron Rivendare and Kel'Thuzad were leaving dreadsteed to fight his own battles. FUCK ME. I was so annoyed, I created this account to see if there were ideas for new cards that helped it.

Anyway, back then the deck didnt really work. it was fun but if you arent winning much you soon try different decks. But now it really is different. I am telling you dude, check out the deck and my guide. There is a good reason why it is working now!!

and 64%, well just check the decktracker image and if you dont believe it, try the deck...

    cheers

    Oh yeah, Dreadsteed has respawned.

I've been playing wild for a while now and just posted a decklist of a dreadlock that gave me a 64% winrate over 80 games whilst beating secret pally and zoolocks, proof provided.

If you want to have some fun again, check it out.

Why would you make the face of your expansion such a terrible, boring and useless card???

Why would you make it in the first place? At least Purify gave us a reason for a public outcry

posted a message on Will Mean Streets of Gadgetzan become the expansion with highest power level?

I think it is not useful to compare the power level of this expansion with GVG or Naxx. You have to consider the meta the cards can be played in.

GVG and Naxx pushed for more aggresive metas with a few excellent counter cards like Sludge Belcher. The "give cards in your hand +x/+x" would be useless in such metas and definitely not feel like high power level cards

However, it seems this expansion is really trying to force people to play a game where they have to infest in later turns. The "give cards in your hand +x/+x" and the discover mechanics all point toward midrange/control games that will be decided at a late stage, turn 8-12, where a lot of control decks have the opportunity to counter plays but midrange decks will have the opportunity to continuously apply pressure.

Maybe this is just wishful thinking. I certainly hope it will work out this way because these games generally feel like real battles.

posted a message on ES Legends thoughts from a HS addict

started ESL two days ago. had fun but could not really see that it would become a whole different experience. therefore i have a question:

What really annoys me about HS is the lack of skill the game requires to win games and that great cards (epics and legendaries) do not give an edge over boring cards (common and rares). I see why the devs made certain design choices to make the game accessible to new players but it is just ridiculous how someone who played for a month netdecks a zoolock and crush about any deck i like to play for fun (usually some kind of control/combo i try to experiment with). If you played this weeks tavern brawl co-op you see how stupid most players are and play without thinking about what may or may not happen two or three turns down the line. HS does not require any smart play, it doesnt punish stupid plays enough and aside from experience on how to play certain match-ups, there isnt a whole lot of progression if you are playing the game for a long period of time.

So the question i have is this, do you feel ESL will be more focused on skill and progression through the game(i.e. collecting cards and rewards)? HS was my first card game and i have enjoyed it for a long time but since the old gods couldnt deliver on a more enjoyable meta and kharazan doesnt promise much improvement i am curious to any better alternative games

    cheers

posted a message on Meta is consistently wrecking my Zoolock at Rank 10.

ok, well i personally quit playing brann within a few weeks in zoo. yes some of the combos are nice but it kinda dictates that you play in a sub optimal way to fully use the combo potential.

i think your deck is focused on dealing with control decks. you play a couple of big minions: 2x sea G and dr. B, BGH is really greedy and you dont play any true 1-drop. So, if you have a problem against paladins, aggro shaman or your mirrors you may want to consider going for more early game to give you more board control. if you get behind against those classes cards like Boom or BGH usually are not gonna win you games.

My advice, maybe just to try for a day or 2, is this:

lose: brann, 2x sea giant, BGH

use: 1x Flame Imp, 1x Argent Squire, 1x Doomguard. this leaves you with one card, and i would take any of these 3 twice. my choice would be the flame imp but if you often lack that final push then that 2nd doomguard is better. i personally dont use argent squire because i have no problem with secret paladin when using zoo. but if you find that a difficult matchup then the squire is really useful. it gives a good ping into divine shields and secrets

but then again, you could just have more luck tomorrow.

ps. most mis-used card in zoolock is loatheb. he is amazing at the right turn, and shit at the wrong turn. really shows the pilot behind the deck in most cases

posted a message on Meta is consistently wrecking my Zoolock at Rank 10.

just stick to it mate, keep the zoo deck

in general the real meta only starts at rank 10. at ranks 20-10 you just run into a whole bunch of stuff. like murloc pally for example, you should really not regard that as part of the meta and tailor your deck to it. that would be something that will make you loose more often

what you will see a lot between rank 10 and legend are: patron and control warrior, combo druid, secret pally, zoolock. then there is the occasional handlock, aggro shaman and control priest.

if you cannot pilot zoo to rank 5 when facing those 5 decks you see the most then you are just not playing it right. thats why you should keep playing it. zoo is easy to learn but not easy to play without mistakes. there are probably a few moments every game where you misplayed and preventing that more and more will lead you towards better results.

Of course you can always be a bit unlucky so while the 8 losses in a rwo sucks and is bad for your motivation, it doesnt mean your deck is the problem.

if you could give an idea about the zoodeck your playing, regular, demon or sea giant for example maybe i could give some tech options
