Saviors of Uldum has introduced some very interesting cards and there are a variety of decks that are viable, yet the meta has already grown stale.
This is a recurring theme for Blizzard. A new set is released and the meta quickly grows stagnant. I believe this set is better than most because of the variety of decks that have come about, yet here we are.
One thing Blizzard could do to stave off the cobwebs is introduce new cards during their sets' adventures. For instance, 1-3 new cards per class plus a few neutral cards could be "discovered" during the course of the adventure.
Not only would this keep things fresh until the new set is released, but it could also be used to push cards that counteract problematic cards that already exist in the meta. Perhaps they could use the expansion to reissue trump cards like Dirty Rat or cards that enable archetypes like Malchezaar's Imp.
This is just a suggestion. I obviously like the game, but boredom is a real issue, whether you play wild or standard.
I barely play a game a day...most of time I feel a disgusting feeling, like the old days will never come back, now we will have lots of expansions like this, made by a team with zero or bad experience in game development. Looks like they are doing interactive games for 3~12 yo kids.
I miss the days when you could play against the deck that was your bad match-up but with some smart moves give yourself a chance. You could be a huntard against a Reno deck, but once you realize your opponents interesting card choices meant he was singleton you could stave off damage, trying to bait out the Reno or put him in a position to burst him down. Or when control decks didn't have to be Warrior and they had to be smart about when they used their AoE cards.

Exactly. I will point out that I miss a lot Lich king and KOFT DKS. They really should do a exp with new Hero Class Cards again.

Yes because Deathstalker Rexxar is a well balanced card. Put it in any hunter deck or 29 other cards for that matter and win from RNG. It's fun but terrible balance and destructive to good play and a reason the game is stale... Dr Boom is another prime example...

Stop the crybaby already, RNG is worse now than was with rexxar dk. Stop talking nonsense, just look the state of the game right now, a lot more cards with discovery something, lackey, spell, minion, reborn, etc... get your shit straight. DUDE: ZEPHRYS THE SHIT, c'mon, more bullshit than that and u're complaining about rexxar? pfff
A good card game should be "boring but predictable". RNG make HearthStone exciting but bad. The goal of a good, competitve card game is to "predict what your opponent will do", but not "playing dump cards and hope RNG bless me". Blizzard went the wrong way to make a good card games years ago. They made the game famous for sure, but this is not a card game anymore, this is a casual game that fits low-aged children, who think they are smart when they net-decking and win games randomly. Discover is the worst mechanic in HS, it kills the game totally.

And yet, DK Rexxar was unanimously considered to be borderline trash when it came out. It wasn't until it got a host of supporting cards to give it half a chance to be good that it finally had its day.
Funny how quickly people forget that.... It was just like Hadranox and Prince Keleseth. As soon as they finally became good (thanks to other cards), all the complainers crawled out the woodwork.

Not sure how I'm complaining. Pretty negative of you. I crafted golden Rexxar day 1, love the card.
My point is when cards are so staple that they are in every meta deck of a class regardless of archetype and get seen every match it adds to effect or perception of the meta being stale. Apparently you took it personally as me ripping on one of your personal favorite cards.

Sorry, I thought the highlighted line in the text above was intended as sarcasm, and therefore was a complaint. My mistake. I didn't realise you were being serious. I take it back.

Which one are this gold old times? There is a complain thread every day since day 1 of HS.
I really like the idea of introducing new cards during the adventure.

There is no smart control deck. No smart combo deck. Cards are little superficial and lack depth. Some cards have potential but lack support.

The problem is that one in ten games is fun and interesting and required real thought.
welcome to card games...

the thing is simple:
they need to attract new casual random player and stick them on the game, not getting frustrated losing against experienced players:
let introduce dinamics (murlocs decks) and a Z card that give a chance to a first ever player to win several matches against everybody.
100 enthusiastic brainless new players than join > 20 bored old players than quit = Money money money= even more card for stupid fellas.

This meta is way more variable than KOTF, every exp we have someone complaining, blizzard can’t make everyone happy
Favorite Cards: 1. Lord Jaraxxus | 2. Malygos| 3. Edwin VanCleef | 4. Zephrys the Great| 5. Deathwing
Ideal for 3-12 year olds like yourself.

So true what people said about kelth. Didn’t people say something like “why would u put this in ur deck . It’s trash.”
But once it started to roll all the whinnying little b came out.
Rexxar only came good when player base whined when the new beast weren’t added as soon they were rexxar way so op
