Conjurer Mage is not an oppressive deck. Mountain Giant is not an oppressive card.
You are unlikely to beat it if you're playing Warrior, but if that's what you're doing you deserve to meet 100 percent Conjurer Mages all day every day, and have Khadgar nightmares every night.

I'm waiting for the day a high level mod starts banning accounts for users just posting salt threads. Especially the ones that aren't in the thread they belong in, and create data space for what is usually a paragraph's worth or less of info bashing whatever they are unhappy about and offering little insight for or against their point.
Conjurer Mage is not an oppressive deck. Mountain Giant is not an oppressive card.
That's 100% bullshit. Wow.
In general all giants are stupid. HS doesnt really like balance. Each expansion they go further and further into cheat out big shit for free play. The most used deck this expansion doesnt even bother with board presence, they put the damage directly into your deck so you dont have to waste precious thoughts trying to react and win. Pretty thoughtful of them tbh.
No, it's about time Blizzard made giants work with cards like these properly
If they had done that long time ago, the giant epidemic in wild would not have happened and Naga sea witch would not have been nerfed or even used in the first place
Just make the damn things obey the rules of other cards that depend on cost only. If naga sea witch made everything cost 5 mana, all giants cost 5 mana no matter what. Done, problem solved
Same here, if the giant was played for 4 mana, they can be conjured into 4 mana minions. Done, problem solved
This way giants stay giants, the cards that make them broken are left unnerfed.
But who am I kidding, they won't do anything smart and will nerf something to oblivion (and I doubt it's gonna be giants)

And this isn't a Thread about Bomb Warrior. It's about wether or not Mountain Giant needs to be HoF'd (it doesn't by the way).
Giants have been a part of Hearthstone since the start and they've always been cards that require you to do something extreme to get them into play. Have a lot of cards in your hand, take a shit ton of damage first, have your opponent have lots of cards in thier hand, cast a load of spells, etc etc.
Just because a particular Giant is being used in a certain deck does not make it HoF Worthy.
card is fine, if mage or warlock play mountain giant on 4 is because they did absolutely nothing during the first 3 turns, you had those turns to stabilish a board or a gameplan so there shouldnt be any excuses as why you cant beat it.

How is it cheating out a big card? The player has to meet certain criteria for it to come out. Its not doing a cheaty face rules and saying Surprise! Look what came out! For Mountain Giant, you have to hold onto cards. For Sea Giant, you have to run swarm. For Molten Giant, you have to take a copious amount of damage. You are rewarded for not dealing with your opponent's beatings while you wait for your turn to drop something that they could easily counter with Assassinate, Hex, Naturalize, Humility, Deadly Shot, Polymorph, Shadow Word: Death, Siphon Soul, or Execute.

LTP or stop complaining.
Not to mention the card operates exactly like any other type of cost reduction mechanic in the game. Once any card with reduced cost leaves your hand the buff is gone because your hand is the only place a reduced cost buff is applied. If they changed this then buffed cards on the board would have to maintain their buffs if bounced to your hand purely for consistency.
Did my eyes deceive me...did someone call Khadgar mage a control deck??? It's definitely more of a midrange deck...
The Conjurers Calling tech is only about 1/3 of a Mage deck, for the class in particular it is very common to pair multiple techs together to form a full deck. Its like calling a control Warrior, Bomb Warrior just because it uses some Mechs and Boom hero.
My control Mage that uses Mana Cyclone tech and Conjurer tech is pretty much always at 10 cards and i end up discarding Giants left and right because Mana Cyclone are to good at filling your hand. 2 Mana, draw 4 random spells and summon a 2/2 minion is pretty value with Elemental Invocation.

It's not really a tech it's kind the whole point of the deck. Tech is something you put in your deck to help a matchup and typically it's only 1-2 cards. If one third of your deck does a specific thing it's not tech. The deck plays very midrange. This can even be seen in the matchups it's favored and unfavored against. Throwing some removal in your deck doesn't make it a control deck. By that logic my Oblivitron hunter deck is a control deck because I run 2x spider bomb, 2x marked shot, 2x wing blast, and the unleash the beast. Hell half of the deck is centered around removal, but it's a midrange deck.
I think mountain giant is fine, it usually requires deckbuilding or play style restrictions to get one out early, both can be punished.
I'm not sure how ok i am with the interaction with Conjurer's calling, though. Giant+Conjure sets the bar very high for what mid game value and board presence is, to a level most classes can't come close to competing. I like summoner mage as a deck and that is the bread and butter interaction but i'm not sure it's healthy for the game.
Maybe minions should keep their mana cost when they hit the board, which would kill the interaction with giant+conjure, but it would probably still be a good deck because cheap giant is still good and there are other more reasonable targets to hit with conjurer's calling in the deck.
It's not exactly an oppressive deck either. I've played it quite a lot this Season and there are a few ways that people deal with your Turn 8 Super play of Khadgar, Power of Creation or Turn 6 Mountain Giant into Conjurer's Calling
Yeah, I don't think it's an oppressive deck because it's so passive and lacks control tools like aoe and healing so it can get rolled over by aggressive decks. It's just very polarizing because it's bursty board presence just shuts out so many decks. It's an interesting deck and I like both Giant and Conjurer's calling, i think they're cool and well designed cards. The interaction just sets the bar too high but it is what it is. Grave Horror being 12 mana is the biggest part of it because of how you just lock the board down. Maybe they add a 12 mana battlecry minion next expansion that is like a 4/5 or something to give it a little balance.
Conjurer Mage is not an oppressive deck. Mountain Giant is not an oppressive card.

What i was trying to say was that Conjurers Calling is such a powerful card that most Mage decks no matter their typing wants to run the combo due to how good the class is at filling up its hand due to Mana Cyclone or Book of Secrets.

Except the fact that Book of Spectres and Conjurer's Calling are two of the most anti-synergetic cards we've ever seen... the number of times I've seen the opponent play the Bok only to discard one or two important cards is quite funny (especially now they are also trying to run other spells in the deck to compensate the mirror match etc)

So u lost to it. That's what it sounds. Salty thread is what u want
There's no way to punish greedy play? Now I've heard everything.
hahaha someone just lose against a handlock and need to empty the salty XD
I love it when they play the giant, it gets promptly spider bombed since it couldn't be more obvious that they are running handlock.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
