Playing with khadgar dragon mage is the most fun I've had in this game since Un'goro.
It still annoys me that countless uncreative people decided to craft bomb warrior on day 1 but overall I think the game is fresher than it's been for the last 2 years.
You should love those uncreative people, though, because your deck gets super easy wins against Warrior. (Another reason to love this expansion!)
Since this forum is as a plague fanboy infested, the overall category 1 responses were to be expected. The notion of critical thinking is absent, replaced by fanboy favourite: complaining.
The OP.
I see a lot of negativity here every day, complaining about everything possible. I know, it's a normal thing on game forums, but still I have to say this.
Rise of Shadows is such an amazing upgrade on what we had to deal with for last 8 months. Standard meta is really fresh, there's lot of different decks to play, who would've guessed that "Malygos hunter" would be played someday. Removing odd/even was the best thing they could've done. Arena seasons is a great thing for arena players like myself. I enjoy playing HS ladder again after a long time
First of all negativity is not normal. Analysis is. Confusing both is a typical trait of a fanboy. But here's the thing. What is the verdict of the quality of card design in the last 8 months according to the OP? Not that good. So now he's happy. A year from now what will be the verdict of this exp? I'm sure 8 months ago people where happy with the meta then.
TL;DR: Fanboys don't think, they just adore, but at least the never 'complain.'
The mindlessness factor of this exp is as bad as the previous.
Excuse me, sir. Can you please stop posting with your condescending, bloated know-it-all manner? Also, labelling everyone who just enjoys the new expansion as mindless sheep is an egregiously blanket statement. You're free to act as the critical mind, but stop deeming everyone who doesn't follow your logic ("Cards are currently designed for a specific group of people which I call the fanboy: demanding, low skill, aggressive, railroaded archetypes, easy win fixes.) as unreflecting fanboys. I assume I'm not the only one holding that opinion.
OT: yea, some old archetypes such as Token Druid or Secret Paladin (not as OP as many people feared) returned and Pirate Rogue isn't really new as well. But in the end, the emergency exit of Genn/Baku was the best choice they could've made. Sometimes it's better to make a painful break than draw out the agony.
Shoot the messenger? Have you taken a peek in the mirror lately wondering how Blizzard looks at you given the low skill floored, reversed aggressive card design that your kind for now coins as 'diverse' and 'fresh'? Passion over skill. Blizzard successfully considers you a mindless pack buying idiot.
Remember the roman elite's handling of the masses? Give them bloodsports and they'll cheer you for that. What are you? Blizzards cheerleader?
Your kind can't handle a higher skill floor, or more demanding win conditions. And indeed, your kind is the target audience to the detriment of those for which that higher skill floor and that more complex win condition is essential for their skill to thrive.
Enjoy!
Do you really have to spread your negativity in every thread where people enjoy the game? You have no idea how pathetic this looks every time people see your posts but you're probably too young to understand that.
On the topic, RoS is amazing just as I thought before its release. New archetypes, new meta, rotation brought a lot of changes, so many things to experiment with, tech cards and finally arena seasons. Handling aggro decks has become much more challenging since we lost a lot of AOEs and control cards. I don't encounter token druid and bomb warrior that often to be frustrated (yet?), I even managed to get to rank 5 with control shaman today. I'm looking forward to seeing what they prepared for the upcoming solo content
Post #39. Should suffice. Another trait of fanboys is that they tend not to read comments before they post. Explicable as fanboys respond from their gut, absent from taking a step back and analyse.
Your arrogance is legendary
He either has serious problems, or is a troll with amazing work ethic :p
I do not agree, first of all they should have hall of famed 3 remaining heroes as well, which would actually lead to a much better game than it this right now.Same goes for once again printing broken early game cards(2 mana shaman murloc) as well as too good removals(devastator).Overall the expansion is fairly decent, but it is far from being great.
Well for all of the players complaining about too much aggro in year of the raven, now at least it seems to me that games are longer (depending on what class is being played, shaman murloc being aggro and bomb warrior being the long game due to bomb setup) and there are ways to extend games beyond fatigue. I am having a good time so far. I have never experienced only having 4 expansions worth of cards available to me to make decks with. At the end of year of the raven I felt like I was overflowing with cards to pull from to build decks, now the pool feels a little bit empty but that will soon change with the next expansion. Other than that no complaints out of me.
I didn't preorder because I was skeptical of the game. I've been a hs player since Naxx and for the last two expansions i didn't play. I had been a rank 5-2 player for years and when the Witchwood expansion hit I stopped playing and landed in rank 20 and stayed there because I didn't want to play. I started playing this expansion three days ago and only opened like 14 packs, and let me tell you this is the most fun I've had since Un'goro. I've played so much I got to rank 5 in two days while having fun and playing fun decks. I've tried Midrange Priest, Control Shaman, Pilfer Rogue, Miracle Rogue, Control Hunter, Aggro Mech Hunter and Big Priest. And I love them all, I can't wait to build more fun decks.
Ps. Also, I know RoS is not the best expansion, it's decent and fresh. But my good experience has been due to the year rotation. The overly strong cards that were printed rotated and RoS being a lower and more balanced expansion has brought a better gaming experience.

More baseless claims which you cannot even provide a source for. Where do you get the idea that I prefer games with a low skill floor? I never ever replied to one of your many indirect charges towards Blizzards card design philosophy, yet you instantly accuse me of being a "mindless pack buying idiot without desire for more demanding win conditions". That's rich coming from a player who apparently ("What is willed by developers knowing the psychology of target audience, the fanboy that doesn't want a game of skill and control, but rather either mindless aggression or OTK railroadism?") favors Control matchups but at the same moment dares to undermine other play styles by describing them as mindless. So let me ask you, shouldn't you take a peek in the mirror instead?
But since you fancy yourself so much I let you repeat your phrases ad nauseam. Enjoy!
On the rogue arena dominance issue, I think it also holds true for warlock too. Abyssal enforcer making a return along with felfire potion, blastcrystal, hellfire, siphon soul and shadowflame all at once is just bonkers. Warlock has so much AoE spam right now, Enforcer should just be banned from arena even during these "comeback" periods
For Standard, possibly. All it did for Wild was paw off Baku & Genn decks on us 'cause Team 5 was too damned lazy to come up with a good answer to those cards.
First 2 days was the ladder full of Bomb Warriors. But now I see a lot of people already switching to controll Shamans & Token Druids. I really like it :).
Having a nice 64% win rate with my own Bomb Controll Warrior. I added my golden Berron Geddon to the deck because of Token druids and It worked out pretty good. I love that so many classic cards again see play because it's the beginning of the new year.

I never get this.
Genn and Baku were also part of wild the exact same time they were part of standard. They haven't just rotated to wild they've been there for over a year. The only oppressive deck they made was Even Shaman and that was fixed really with the Totem nerf so what is the problem?

My issue with it is that it is a supremely lazy non-answer to a problem that had a whole slew of potential fixes. Instead of squaring their shoulders, planting their feet firmly and addressing Baku & Genn, 'eh, Hell with it. Toss 'em into Wild, nobody cares about Wild as a format, right?'
Oh, and no, Even Shaman is still a top tier deck in Wild. So is Odd Paladin.
I also see negative vibes everywhere. I don't play much competitive ladder just to rank 10 and then building some fun decks. And this expansion makes me explode with ideas (more deck slots pls), and I don't lose turn 4 to an Agro deck! Well, except one Murloc Shaman that rushed me but that's besides the point. A lot of people here think only about climbing higher in rank and forget that the main goal of this game is to have fun!
So here's a challange for you guys. Chat with you friend online (Skype, Discord, TS, whatever), build some quirky deck with the cards you like to play (your friend the same) and play friendly battle. Not to win, to play and laugh. This is the experience that makes Hearthstone awesome :)
I like the fact the Meta was reset, but I personally don't like it so far. I think some nerfs are due to bring the class played/win rate balance back to what it was prior to the expansion.
After all the crying over the Priest Rez mechanic and about how "finally it's gone", we now have MORE mechanics that operate like this. And, this is all at the beginning of a new Meta, which means we've got a full year of this jank ahead of us.

Then what mechanic would you say is fun, playable and balanced? I would like to see Poisonous Hunter, but then it would be unfun to play against, right?

Yes it is super fresh and so many viable decks! Keep up Team 5:)

I agree. Though token druid turned out to be weak, I almost regret crafting Keeper Stalladris, treant with mulchmuncher seems stronger in theory.
