Unless some nerfs are in order, it doesn't seem like Hunter, both the spell and the deathrattle/recruit type will stop being top tier decks. (it is too early to talk about tiers yeah but especially deathrattle variant has been going strong since boomsday)
Do you think hunter is a safe class to invest dust in right now? (mainly cards like deathstalker rexxar/zuljin)
I don't think that spell hunter is truly that strong, many decks, notably control warlock, can pound it into the ground and fare well against other aggro decks. Another deck that (not from experience) seems to be able to destroy spell hunters is odd paladin. I really think its just the hype around Zul'jin being ridiculously powerful, I suggest waiting a bit for the meta to settle.

Does recruit hunter have any major counters? Besides terrible draw and Odd Paladin.

It is true about the spell hunter of today but I think that Zul'jin will fit in another viable meta deck after meta stales.

Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Hunter and rogue have traditionally been the two classes that do better at the start of expansions because they punish unrefined and greedy decks, but fall off on their butts once the meta settles.
Spell hunter is probably here to stay. It was already a pretty solid tier 2 deck, now it's a really good tier 2 deck. The meta will might shape in a way that pushes it out, but then after it changes again spell hunter will find it's way back in.
Deathrattle hunter was arguably the best deck in the game during boomsday and I doubt that will change.
Secret hunter will see play in aggro metas.
DR hunter and spell hunter use mostly different cards. unless they nerf Rexxar, which doesn't seem likely, hunter will probably be the top class (it arguably was during boomsday).
As far as crafting, I'd say Rexxar and Zul'jin are very safe crafts. Rexxar obviously rotates next expansion but it's also the best card in the game. This is the last chance to play it in standard. Zul'jin will be around in many hunter decks to come for a long time and worst case scenario it gets nerfed and you have the option to get your dust back.

What about Recruit Hunter? How would you compare it to the deathrattle variant?

Please explain me the difference.
I guess deck with Kathrena and big beasts to cheat into play but secrets package instead of eggs + play dead + stalker?
Spell hunter imo is alright and there are ways to counter it. Zul'jin being available so easily to any hunter archetype is a bit too much. If it were "if your deck has no minions" as one of its conditions it would be far more balanced.
Biggest problem of hunter is that it has so many viabke strong archetypes, and they all require specific counters. You can get through a spell hunter with ease if you go odd warrior for example.
But the class is generally so powerful some of these archetypes overlap, and even Odd, Even and full face hunters are playable. Also note that between all of these decks and their tech options, the class does not really have any weaknesses...

I assume you're talking about the deck that is pretty much the halfway point between spell hunter and deathrattle hunter with the secret/spell package, kathrena package, and zul'jin. I haven't actually played that one yet or played against it more than a few times but my impression is that you should either go one way or another. Zul'jin has more value in spell hunter, Kathrena and her beasts have much much more value in a deck with cubes, the deck has no eggs, and NO CUBES. cube is the nuts, it makes cards like shaw, grizzly, egg great in the early game and makes the kathrena big guys crushingly strong.
It has a pretty similar winrate though so I imagine it's nearly as good.
Aggressive Warrior and Hunter decks always take centre-stage in the first month of an expansion, in my opinion. And they're difficult to play around at first as a lot of people start playing them to get a better rank before the meta settles down (Odd Paladin was an exception to this - still a great deck). I think crafting legendary Hunter cards isn't a bad thing at all. If you're not a regular Hunter player, it'll always be a refreshing change when you're bored of your current deck, or losing too much.

That's absolutely not true. Deathrattle Hunter is tier 1. Rogue has the Odd version, which is at least tier 2. Miravle Rogue and Tempo Rogue are also strong contenders...
i know those 2 are tier 1 with Odd rogue and Dr hunter decks, i was referring to all the "new hunter archetypes" the topic is actually discussing, do you remember that odd hunter was the craze back in early WW? and we see no odd hunter now, secret hunter punishes unrefined decks atm, but we don't know where he might end yet, it might stay or pull an odd hunter and flop on its butt.
Unless some nerfs are in order, it doesn't seem like Hunter, both the spell and the deathrattle/recruit type will stop being top tier decks. (it is too early to talk about tiers yeah but especially deathrattle variant has been going strong since boomsday)

Spell Hunter will vanish back to tier 3-4 pretty quick as we figure out how to play around it.
Deathrattle is still very very strong.
I love the midrange build, but it's not Tier 1 for sure.
Hunter always seem to thrive while a new expansion comes and it preys on unrefined decks. Odd Hunter was all the rage back in Witchwood too.
I think Spell Hunter will be very decent but the true powerhouse will continue to be Deathrattle Hunter, which could get even stronger with Oondasta.

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
There is no such thing as Recruit hunter - it's the same build as deathrattle. This is as annoying as when people called Barnes hunter spell hunter.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
I think the archetypes are:
-Deathrattle/recruit (with eggs, no Zul'jin or Lesser Emerald Spellstone)
-Big Recruit (with Zul'jin and Lesser Emerald Spellstone)
-Spell
-Subject 9 Aggro secret
-Midrange (with or without secrets)
But the class is generally so powerful some of these archetypes overlap, and even Odd, Even and full face hunters are playable. Also note that between all of these decks and their tech options, the class does not really have any weaknesses...
My suggestion for a solution if hunter is becoming too dominant:

it's clear to me something has to be done about hunters.
if not a shitload of players will quit very soon
I'm not online, it's just your imagination
