Why not convert Casual into a Dual-Class mode with no ranks? Casual is meant for people to play freely, so why not take the reigns off a smidgen? The problem with Casual for most people is the presence of strong decks that don't really have a place there, so why not give people the ability to create decks where class identity is hard to determine at the mulligan due to two classes being a factor?
Give us more to do. Casual isn't even bothered with by the majority of people that play. Why not give people a reason to play the mode? Dual-Class Arena is an incredible experience. Why not cement the experience? At the same time, maybe make it so decks entered for strictly Casual play have more cards in them AND increase player Health totals? People have been curious about exactly these things before, so why not integrate them in an environment that isn't competitive?
If there was ever a thread I wanted plopped in front of Blizzard, it's this one. Casual needs enriching, and I think taking many of the ideas that won't fly in a competitive format and integrating them so they're available through Casual is a great idea.
Also, regarding this idea, this could be the perfect opportunity to allow for people to ban a single card so that they don't bump into specific decks while playing Casual. Give people a little more control over exactly what they have to deal with in Casual. If I don't want my 40-60 card deck taken by a Toggwaggle deck that's running Hemet, Jungle Hunter, I can just ban Toggwaggle.
I like the idea, but from the interface point it would be a nightmare. Now deck selection menu has 3 different switches (casual/ranked, wild/standard, left/right arrows), which is already not great, but okay. If casual/ranked switch would switch decks as well and you'd effectively have 4 different screens with different decks, that would be just horrible and unintuitive at all. It would be way better to dedicate another main menu button for that mode and leave casual as it is (and maybe finally add some better matchmaking to it, so it won't be as dead as now).
Why not convert Casual into a Dual-Class mode with no ranks? Casual is meant for people to play freely,
Why not create a special dual-class mode and leave the casual to people who want to play freely?
Not like your idea is gonna change anything about the people playing strong decks to win games, it would just remove the casual for something else that isn't ranked.
It's pretty funny how people want to force others to play low winrate decks to make themselves feel better while playing their low winrate decks. It's unranked, if you run into some high winrate deck you can't beat and don't want to waste your time on, just push the concede button, you aren't losing anything anyway. Just stop whining about it being unfair people are playing high winrate decks or use decks that hard counter those high winrate decks and annoy them by beating them.
TLDR: Leave the casual to people who don't want to play ranked without turning it into a whole different mode.
Dual class as a constructed mode opens a whole new Pandora 's box of broken synergies. People will quickly figure out refined versions of already top tier decks or whole new tier 1 decks abusing new synergies are were never designed to be used together. It'll just become a new ecosystem of netdecks and oppressive decks, but on a higher level than even wild, I daresay. It's not the same as dual class arena.
The idea is cool and maybe worth trying out as a brawl, but it's not a solution to "playing freely", and it's definitely not a replacement to casual. If the only way to play standard constructed was ranked, many people would dislike that.
60-40 cards with only being able to have 2 copies of things sounds incredibly bad. I'm all for a dual class mode, but going up to 60 cards just seems like a way to make everything horribly inconsistent.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
I don't think we should change casual. I like using it as it is to test out new deck ideas without having to risk damaging my rank. Because of this, playing against high win rate decks is absolutely fine by me. If I can beat them with my new deck idea, it's viable to play in ranked.
However, I do like the duel-deck idea. It should just be a new mode in its own right. I think a similar concept was in a brawl last year, if memory serves.
Damaging rank? Is this real? It’s a non competitive game where skill is like MAYBE 10% and the rest luck. Your rank is meaningless and the monthly rewards are so laughable.
Back on topic, all we need is take the gold rewards away for the no-lifes who think attempting to farm gold in casual is worthwhile. Solved

I honestly think that to some extent, the Rank "Ledges" basically signalled the death knell for casual mode. Previously, you went to casual to train on a deck / do your quests / play janks etc without slipping back down the ranks. But without the fear of dropping below your current multiple of 5 in rank, there's simply little point in playing casual any more.
Definitely agree it would be good to make something more fun out of it. Two-Headed Giant, Triple threat, etc etc. All good ideas...
there's simply little point in playing casual any more.
And therefor you are allowed to not play it and leave the mode to those who do enjoy playing it while you stick to ranked.
If nobody cared about unranked, there wouldn't be so many threads started by people complaining about there being high winrate decks in there all the time. Seems those people disagree with you regarding the only playing ranked. Therefor these posts merely show it is a valuable mode and there is no point in removing it cuz a minority doesn't need it.
Those who want ranked play ranked, those who don't care about or just dislike playing for rank can enjoy unranked.

Umm. Dude, I never said I didnt care about casual mode? In fact, I even went on to say that I thought it would be a great idea to improve the mode with new play styles and concepts. I also didnt say that nobody plays in casual - some people still use it for quests etc. I simply put forward a reason for why casual doesnt get the attention it used to. Why that should cause you any irritation (judging from your reply) is beyond me...
I honestly don't understand these threads. What type of decks are people expecting to face in casual? What makes people think that other people really want to 'play my way' - is it ignorance or arrogance? Any constructed format will have a meta and will only have a few viable decks, it's the nature of the beast.
I do appreciate the effort from the perfunctory 'problem is gold' crowd. Talk about naive.

Well, first of all, i didn't write anywhere you claimed you didn't care. So maybe you need to learn to read before responding. If you don't want to be called out on things you didn't write, don't call out others on things they didn't write either kiddo.
You didn't say you didn't care, you just want it changed to something totally different cuz, to use your quote from earlier, there is simply little point in playing it anymore. If you want a cool new feature, advocate to get the cool new feature without replacing another good feature you just don't consider usefull yourself while many others obviously do enjoy playing it.
So in my experience, casual is the place where I try stuff out before I put it on ladder, get my daily quest wins in with weak class decks or attempt to have fun with meme decks. So I kinda want to leave the experience the same. That doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in trying some different play styles in other platforms, like a dual class table.
But what I would LOVE to add to casual is, more than a card ban, a class ban. Nothing chaps my hide more than wanting to try out a meme deck or a weird combo deck and constantly getting matched with a Zoolock deck. Or if I'm experimenting with a new agro deck, I would love to test it on decks other than Odd Warrior. I would love the option, from match to match, to ban a class so that I could avoid certain potential matchups.
I do appreciate the effort from the perfunctory 'problem is gold' crowd. Talk about naive.
Why is it naive, though? Do you honestly believe there are more people playing good decks in casual to annoy than there are for the rewards themselves? Because if so, you might be the one shooting straight out of the opposite side of the spectrum.

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
Lol look all the answers shutting down an idea as soon as it is expressed with totally bs arguments. My mate, the core of the idea is great but it wont happen because activision is lazy.Everything they have done is either to promote card packs or to avoid backlash(look at the solo content to appease for the loss of adventures). So a complete overhaul of casual that will take hundreds of hours to be designed and ballanced is out the question. And why should they?As you can see there are countless fandrones that shut down ideas or demands for them.

Hey, don't be mean! Blizzard appreciates their loyalty. They'll never say, do or otherwise act positively about it, but I am sure the undying loyalty and conservatism of the fans is greatly cherished while they sit back and count all the changes they won't have to implement thanks to them.

Or increase the rewards through ranked mode in comparison to casual, so that casual players do not get punished for not playing ranked.

Come visit my Card Emporium. Strange things, you will find inside...
Come take the test, if you're daring. Feel free to show me your results in a message.

No quest rewards from casual games could perhaps also remove the strong meta decks, which are only played there to earn quest rewards...

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

So to review
- drastically changing casual
+ adding different playstyle 'tables'
+ adding a 'ban a class' option in casual
