The fundementally best/most powerful things you can do in a resource based card game:
Number 3: Ramp
Number 2: Card Draw
Number 1: "Free" spells (innervate)
Druid as the only class ticks all three boxes. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a broken class at its worst. Dont make excuses just because you like to play it, its broken at its core atm.
The comparison between BGH and Geist is way off. A fairer comparison would be secret eater, which is considerably better at it's job. I have enough experience with jade druid to talk about it with perspective, presumably like you do with aggro. It's weaknesses were it's weak early and mid game, which have been solved. Hence it is the most popular deck on ladder right now by some margin, which i note you don't refute.
Big Game Hunter is a Tech Card, just like Geist and Eater. The comparison is not off, it is perfectly valid because they are all in the same category of cards, Tech Cards. I used Big Game Hunter because it was a Tech Card that for years was overpowered, it was played in nearly EVERY deck, and it prevented 7+ Attack minions from being used. This is terrible design. Tech Cards need to have downsides to force players to think if they want to use them, not just include them in every deck like Big Game Hunter, because if they are like Big Game Hunter, the Strategy those Tech Cards nullify is UNVIABLE in the game.
Jade Druid is the most popular deck in the game right now, but that doesn't mean there is the same problem as there was when Warriors were extremely popular, or when Shamans were extremely popular. Jade Druid are still weak to early and mid game, as long as the player knows what he is doing. You can see many games, and you will see players overextend their boards into the Druid's Spreading Plagues, and obviously getting punished for it. Easiest one to talk about, Hunters, when you see them playing crappy garbage on the board like Alley Cats, when the Druid is going to Spreading Plague. This is just a terrible play, and deserves to be punished. And it is entirely on the fault of the Hunter, for not playing around the card. Prioritize powerful single minions like Highmane and such, and your position is far better against their cards.
It is all about knowing how to play against the Druids. They received a great tool, Spreading Plague, to deal with Aggro. Only thing is, against great players, Spreading Plague is not really that effective.
Ughhh... Dude by no means i mean to offend you but you just sound like people who defended Q-rogue or Patron warrior in before-nerf times. Like you said druid receieved a "great tool" against aggro and get a great spell that most of the classes doesn't have. THAT'S NOT supposed to happen. So what you are punished because you controlled board against a class that problem. endless late-game BOOM you are punished. So instead of controlling it you play aggrasively BOMM you are punished again cs same class! Tell me how many classes have counter spells that agains aggro AND control-midrange. This is the real problem. And in the matter of hunter... What was a hunter supposed to do? Hunters ONLY win-condition is winning board in early game, so hunters are punished because they wanted to win? This goes for all classes, druid right now doesn't punish "bad plays" it punishes the other player that decided to play othet class with another win condition. Like again druid punishes ALL MİNİON-BASED DECKS THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM. Only counter i can imagine is rogue and OTK decks but blizzard decided to hate OTK decks for some reason and they didn't really support rogue
Druid is def a problem right now. At least with pirate warrior you lose fast. With Druid you think you have a chance and they just ramp up, jades galore and refill entire hand.. not to mention that spell that summons a 1/5 taunt for each minion you have if you happen to have board control. Class is top tier right now and not even a close second.
Here's a hint to everyone: if you are rank 5 or below, you're not even playing hearthstone in its actual metagame. And even the druids that you WILL face, will be playing suboptimally, and with suboptimal lists. So please don't come to this forum and discuss whether X class is "broken" or not.
Druid needs to be nerfed, and it's not even funny anymore. The class has been at least tier 2 since beta of hearthstone, and with the recent expansions it has basically lost all the weaknesses it historically had. There is basically no way you can counter Jade Druid without sucking against everything else in the game.
Honestly think Spreading Plague has been the biggest deal for Druid. We were always super obnoxiously strong in late game control matchups (though you'd ramp slower) before Ultimate Infestation... but Spreading Plague is so insanely good against decks Druid would usually struggle against such as Token Shaman.
They made a garbage tech 6 drop to beat ONE card and thought that would be enough. And people called me stupid when I said Jade would continue to be fucking stupid and nothing would change. Oh wait, something did change. Druid got better! Nice quality control you got there Blizzard, surely Team 5 isn't just a bunch of morons with no TCG experience that shouldn't be anywhere near designing lunchbox's let alone cards?
Hall of Faming Innervate is ludicrous to me, it's quintissential druid, it's THE class card for Druid more than literally any other in my opinion. If they'd just nerfed Jade Idol instead of the tech card for it we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I'm guessing at least half the people calling for this absurdity are just salty QQers riding Reynad's coattails without devoting any thought to the ramifications and consequences of such a drastic change to the core of a class. Literally no one was talking about this yesterday (they were all whining about UI, and before that they were calling for Jade Idol nerfs) now all of the sudden it is the go-to flavor of the week nerf that Druids need, right after Reynad's video drops? Funny how that works. The other half are just mad because they thought Geist was going to be their auto-win card against Jade, but as it turns out, it doesn't just auto-win.
I still think Jade Idol is the primary offender here. People started whining about UI primarily because of how it can complement Jade Idol decks. Now people are whining about Innervate because of how easy it is for Jade decks to Ramp into UI.
And the worst thing: they are so boring to play and to play vs them. They also take almost 0 skill. Just play on curve or play all your cards... thx blizz...
Yeah, I hate Pirate Warr... uh, I mean umm, Shaman Agg, no, uh... what deck are we hating on again now? :-)
I mean, it's true for all those decks though haha
I have good success beating it with various priest decks, but i can't say i get a lot of joy out of it lol, the jade mechanic in general is just played out after three expansions.

How is Jade Idol the card making Druid overpowered right now? Are we playing the same game...
hall of faming innervate is a bonkers suggestion, innervate is a really great and interesting card. The problem is jades, not just jade idol, but the entire mechanic. Honestly we're just gonna have to wait for it to rotate out in two expansions...
again, it's not unbeatable, it's just frustratingly prolific and not super exciting to play against
Infestation is the problem? Or de jade package? Do you feel opressed by that plague druid that plays Crypt Lords and insects? I really like the flavor of that deck, and it doesn't seem opressive to me.
Kolento's plague druid wouldnt be nearly as consistent if Infestation didnt exist, that card makes pretty much every variant of ramp druid tier 2 at least. Opressive is an understatement.
Also one big issue is that aggro druid is also a good deck so it's very hard to mulligan against a druid.
That's the sign of a healthy class though that they can run multiple archetypes. Although Druid doesn't have enough weaknesses with the cards they now have, a lot people hail Exodia Mage as a counter but I think that is generally too slow to survive the Jade onslaught a lot of the time.
It is a pain when you mulligan incorrectly based on what deck is popular at the time. It's kinda like the mulligan vs Warlock where you meet some odd fellow playing Zoo instead of a Control deck. I guess you could say it's true for Warrior too, but more-so in Wild and you can't really get punished at all by Control Warriors since they are real slow decks, so mulligan always for pirate.
There is no way they can rotate out Innervate and/or Wild Growth without turning the class into an utter joke or forcing themselves to make cards to replace these cards for all time. Have you seen the proactive plays of Druid for 1 - 3 Mana or does the babyrage-infused salt blind you all?
Those two cards are the core of any Druid and with just 2 cheap ramp cards its hard enough now to get any consistency for slower Druid archetypes, what do you guys think would happen if 1 of them was rotated out, without a backup plan?
Druid would basically be a new and worse Hunter Class for all intents and purposes, playing Aggro Token decks, because it can't play from behind and just relying on drawing Wild Growth early is so inconsistent its not even funny. Reynad has lost his mind if he thinks that that change is balanced in any way, it would just delete a few Druid archetypes to satisfy unwarranted whining, because we are still just 1 week into the expansion. Want to counter slower Druids? Play board-centric aggro or Midrange decks and there problem solved.
Ramp has been a viable non-broken strategy forever just because Jade Druid is pushing it doesn't mean Druid should be deleted as a class.

I haven't had too much trouble from Druids personally. Pirate Warrior is still stealing a lot of my victories though.

Is it possible to reach legend with jade druid?
Well, of course I lose when I'm at 5 mana, the Druid is at 10 mana and he refills his hand with Infestation on turn 6 and has more cards than me.

Do what Reynad suggested and send Innervate to the Hall of Fame.
Here's his video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd-7s5xuJck

Druid DK hero power is "massively imbalanced"? Hmm...
*looks at Druid DK card reveal thread and the dozens of posts in there about how garbage that DK is
Something doesn't seem right...
Yes, Spreading plague and infestation has together removed all the weaknesses of the druid class. It's become completely busted.
One of them needs to be changed, or innervate HOFed. Right now it completely breaks the meta.
